    Minority Single Mother Scholarship
I was born into challenging circumstances, including being raised in a low-income environment and entering the world under difficult conditions. From an early age, I decided I would not become a product of my environment, but instead create a different path for myself. That mindset has guided every step of my journey and continues to shape who I am today. At 17, I became a mother, a moment that changed my life and required me to grow up quickly. While many may have seen limitations in that situation, I saw it as motivation. Becoming a young mother forced me to develop responsibility, focus, and determination early in life. It strengthened my desire to build a stable and successful future, not just for myself, but for my child. As a recently divorced single mother, my life shifted once again, requiring me to fully step into responsibility while continuing to pursue my education and career. I became the sole provider for my household, responsible for every decision, every bill, and every aspect of my child’s well-being. At the same time, I remained committed to advancing my education. There was no pause, only the determination to move forward and create stability for my family. This transition has been one of the most challenging seasons of my life. Balancing work, parenting, and school has required constant sacrifice. There have been long days filled with responsibilities and late nights dedicated to coursework, often while feeling physically and mentally exhausted. The pressure to succeed, not just for myself but for my child, has been overwhelming at times. However, these challenges have strengthened my discipline, time management, and resilience in ways I never imagined. Despite the difficulty, this journey has been deeply fulfilling. Continuing my education while managing real-life responsibilities has given me greater confidence in my ability to overcome obstacles. More importantly, I am setting an example for my child. I want my child to see that even during difficult times, it is possible to remain focused, work hard, and build a better future through persistence and determination. In addition to my personal and professional responsibilities, I have taken intentional steps to give back to my community. I developed an enrichment program within the school system that supports at-risk youth by providing structure, mentorship, and opportunities for personal growth. This work is especially meaningful to me because I understand how important guidance and support can be during challenging circumstances. Being able to pour into others while navigating my own journey has been both humbling and rewarding. Pursuing my MBA is a critical step in my path toward long-term stability and growth. Through further education, I aim to strengthen my leadership abilities, expand my business, and position myself for higher-level opportunities that will increase my earning potential. My goal is to create financial security for my family while also building a legacy rooted in resilience, leadership, and service. Ultimately, my journey is about transformation and purpose. It is about turning adversity into strength and using every challenge as motivation to grow. I am committed to continuing my education, advancing professionally, and creating opportunities that uplift both my family and the community. I refuse to be defined by where I started, and instead, I am focused on where I am going and the impact I will make along the way.
