As a student that is dedicated and determine to complete my course no matter what happens, I have learned that life does always goes according to plan. About two weeks ago weeks ago, something unfortunate happened to me that set me back physically, mentally, and financially. While riding my pedal bike on my way to school, I was hit by a car. The driver made a right turn into me without looking in my direction, the impact of the hit send me to the hospital. The accident caused me injuries that forced me to miss several days of both class and work.
A little bit about me, I'm someone who likes to stay active and healthy. working out helps me stay focused, motivated, and mentally strong. I use my pedal bike not only as a way to stay in shape, but also as my main form of transportation to work and school. Being hit by a car not only hurt me physically, but it also disrupted my routine and added stress to my already demanding schedule. I had to put things on pause, which led to missing shifts at work, falling behind on assignments, and experiencing financial strain from lost of wages and medical expenses. Despite the pain and the challenges, I've been doing my best to stay on track. My school was understanding enough to allow me to make up my course work from home. I'm grateful for that opportunity, and I've been working hard to catch up on everything I missed. I'm trying to regain my momentum and return to my normal routine, even though the recovery process has not been easy. This accident affected me more than I expected, it challenged my mental strength just as much as my physical endurance. Thankfully I'm resilient, I'm focused on not letting this setback define me. I am currently pursuing my Certification as an Aircraft Technician because I have a deep love for aviation. My long-term goal is to work for one of the major commercial airlines and someday be able to own and fix my own aircraft. This scholarship will help relieve some of the pressure I'm under by covering some of the costs of campus housing, transportation until I can ride again and basic living expenses. With less financial stress, I can focus more on my recovery, my education, and ultimately, achieving my goal of becoming an aircraft technician.
