A college education is something that I have been waiting and striving for my entire High School journey. As a first-generation college student, I want to make my family proud and accomplish a goal that has been on my mind since I was little. Going to college not only furthers and expands my knowledge, but it is also a new experience and journey that I want to explore, as it is the next step in my life and transition into adulthood. With a college degree, it would open many new opportunities and careers that I would never have thought that I could obtain. College through the impact and stature it has, helps connect likeminded individuals, and this kind of community is something that I want to be a part of. As I plan to attend FIU in the Fall of 2022, I want to be a role model for my little sister and show that anybody can attend college and obtain a degree if you put your mind to it and work as hard as you can.
