Growing up I now realize that I am fortunate to have home, food on the table and a loving family. I see that most people do not have this opportunity so I wish that in the future I can help those in need, especially in my community. My parents always taught me to be humble and show empathy. They always pushed me to be my best in school and on sports. I always loved sports from a young age. I liked playing football amd basketball. I started to play volleyball and I'm liking that. I was hesitant on joining sports but they pushed me to join and it would be a fantastic experience.
My parents put me in swim lessons at a young age. When I got to high-school, I joined the swim team. I learned so much about what it means to be a team. My teammates were so accepting and supportive. They showed me how to be a good teammate. The team was more than just a team, it was like family. My coaches taught me valuable life lessons and sportsmanship. My coach is and forever will be a rolemodel to me. He is responsible, passionate, caring, and more. Lessons he taught the team are traits that I have now. I learned more about life skills such as communication, leadership, responsibility and team work. I am so grateful for these lessons and experiences as they shape who I am today. I have no regrets and I hope that I can be a rolemodel to others. As a somewhat swim instructor and lifeguard, I enjoy helping people. Watching people progress and improve feels very rewarding.
I would define myself as a hard worker. I give my all to balance and maintain goods grades and participate in sports. With my last year I hope that I can be a rolemodel to the younger generations and pass on lessons I've learned to them. Being a minority group really does open my eyes as to what a community is. Being a second generation in America I can see the bond in which my community has. We all come from around the same background and looking back at the history of it, the previous generations really did struggle. My ethnic group had it hard before and coming to America. I'm proud and thankful for the previous generation, because I wouldn't be here without them.
