My name is Makaylee and I have been blessed as a 15-year-old to graduate early as a Senior this year alongside my brother. Through all the many challenges and time restraints, I didn't let up and kept pushing to achieve this goal. Up until this year I was enrolled and active in a Dance Competition team where I was given many parts that were key to our success. It was such a joy to be a part of something as that and such a rewarding feeling to accomplish the goals we set out to achieve. This past at Christmas I was given 5 different roles to be in the annual Backstage Dance Production of the Nutcracker Ballet and it was one of my most memorable and stand out moments. The practice schedule was more than intense but I stuck to my goal and kept pushing. The confidence this brings is truly remarkable. Through school, I have always been apart of groups like the National Honor Society, Interact Club, UIL and the Fellowship of Student Athletes. The last two years I have been honored to be a part of and plan "Team Dinners" for my brother and his football team every Thursday night prior to Friday Night games. I led and coordinated all the meals with sides and hosts week after week and for 60 boys. Volunteering my time to serve others is something I take pride in but don't like it when it's highlighted because its not done to receive attention like that, but I am always offering appreciation right back! The goal I have for myself in life is to become an Attorney for Businesses who need guidance in all they do. The reasoning I have the passion for this is through my parents being Self-Employed and all the struggles I have watched them endure. There were so many times when having a simple letter from an Attorney would have helped if they had known that was an option. I want to be that option and one that will work with these businesses to keep them in check and to help keep books straight and protected. I believe in myself, and I am thankful to be in the top of my class at my age and I look forward to continuing this passion for my education and future. I will more than earn any scholarship that I am blessed to receive.
