Bio

I am going to school for a Forensic Science major. I love reading any type book, and can spend hours reading. So far my plans for the future are to work crime scenes or to work in crime scene labs. The top goal for this is to reach the FBI, state or national. In high school I volunteered at Feed My Starving Children with a club that I was in. I really enjoyed what we were doing that day, and I would love to volunteer there again sometime. Also in high school I helped paint sets for the school play after school.

    Bold Study Strategies Scholarship
There are a couple of different strategies that I use when studying, and it also depends on if it is a lecture or a lab class. At the beginning of the week go over what needs to be done and plan when to get it done. All my lab classes have been to learn different concepts and the final is a test putting them all together. So, when I would study, I would go over the main concepts and equations that were used for those labs. For lecture it really depends on what class it is. Looking up different equations/problems for concepts that I did not fully understand yet. For biology I would make diagrams on the concepts, most of my biology tests you are given a diagram and have to label the diagram on the test. A lot of my chemistry tests/quizzes had to do with how we get from point A to point B. An equation would be given to us, and we had to show what was added to the starting chemical that would get it to point B. Everything on the tests would be chemical reactions that we saw on quizzes in the past or in lecture notes. To study these, I would write the equation out and try to get from point A to point B till I get it without looking at notes. That really helped me understand the concepts more. Some of my classes would have lecture videos before class that we would take small quizzes on before class and then again after class. If I did not understand how my professor taught it, I would then look up the concepts online to find other videos with more explanation or examples on how to use the equation or understand the concept.
    Bold Friendship Matters Scholarship
To me friendship can means being there for them, and them being there for you. I do not think that one has to see or talk to that person every day for them to be friends. One of my best friends, I do not see her or talk to her every day. We each have our own lives going on right now. She works a lot, and I am in college. We also live in different time zones so we both know that we might not respond right away to each other's text messages. That is perfectly fine. I do know that if she called me, it is something important, and I would be there for her. I may not be able to go to her, but I would stay and talk on the phone for hours if that is what she needed. If we argue with each other, we will give each other space. After some time away from each other, we will be able to talk it. That is another thing about friendship, you know when each other need space, and you respect each other for that. That is what friendship is because just like any other relationship you have to work for it.
    Bold Great Books Scholarship
My favorite book is Alice in Wonderland. It's been my favorite book since I was young. It starts off with her following the white rabbit into Wonderland. She meets so many different people throughout the book. At the end, we see that she has been sleeping under the tree the whole time. Everyone she meets is based on people she knows. As a kid, this was a fun story because of all the characters. Alice was a kid just like me, and I had the same imagination as her. As I got older, I saw it as there were certain people in her life telling her what to do. In Wonderland, the Red Queen wanted her to conform to what she wanted. She can represent someone in Alice’s life who wants Alice to pursue something over what she wants. Alice asks everyone she meets where she needs to go, and what she needs to do. Then she meets the Cheshire Cat, who tells her any road will take her to where she wants to go. I see that as the Cheshire Cat being someone in her life telling her to do what she wants and to follow her dreams. The Mad Hatter and the rest represent that she is still a kid, and that she wants to have fun. I love it because it still brings out the child in me. But it also shows that there are going to be people that will encourage us, and that there will always be people that discourage us. Every now and then, we should embrace our inner child.
