I am a hardworking, well-spoken and loving person on the outside. However, when you get to know me better, you'll find that I am a teenager who has faced some challenges in life. High school was tough for me as I had minimal support and faced constant doubt from both myself and others, which eventually led to my expulsion. You might be wondering how I got to where I am today. The answer is that I decided to forgive myself and believe in my own purpose. I pushed myself beyond my limits and took ASL 1, ASL 2, and Fine Dining courses for two years at MATC. I am excited to share that I will be enrolling in the Small Business Entrepreneurship program in the fall of 2024. My goal is to use the knowledge gained from this program to pursue a career in owning a food truck and exploring other possibilities.

I am excited to share that I will be enrolling in the Small Business Entrepreneurship program in the fall of 2024. My goal is to use the knowledge gained from this program to pursue a career in owning a food truck and exploring other possibilities. Through this course, I will learn about various aspects of entrepreneurship, including social media marketing, creating business plans, and marketing strategies. Additionally, It would be my pleasure to share the intricate details of my future plans and past experiences that have molded me into the person I am today. As someone who has completed American Sign Language (ASL) 1 & 2, I am passionate about becoming a traveling interpreter. Being able to facilitate communication between people who speak different languages is an immensely rewarding experience that I look forward to pursuing further. Furthermore, I have a deep-rooted passion for food and plan to enroll in a two-year culinary program to hone my culinary skills. I believe this will help me in achieving my ultimate dream of opening my restaurant someday. Presently, I work at Domino's in Sun Prairie, where I have been delivering excellent customer service for the past three months. Recently, I obtained my ServSafe Food Handler certification, which has been invaluable in expanding my knowledge of the food industry and equipping me with the necessary skills to excel in this field. Furthermore, I am working towards becoming a manager within a month, and I am entirely confident that with my hard work and dedication, I will achieve this goal. As the oldest of seven siblings, I have shouldered numerous responsibilities that have helped me grow into a well-rounded individual. From managing finances to babysitting, I have gained valuable life skills that have served me well in various spheres of life. I am proud of the fact that I am currently living independently and taking care of myself like a boss! During high school, I was an active participant in various community and school events. For instance, I volunteered for Read Your Heart Out, where I helped young children learn to read, sorted clothes at Sunshine Place, ran the dance at school, and even helped a local teacher with her lawn work. These experiences have taught me the importance of hard work, dedication, and commitment, and I look forward to applying these qualities to all my endeavors in the future. I have always been passionate about food, and I believe this will help in pursuing my dream of opening my restaurant someday. I recently received my ServSafe Food Handler certification, which has been valuable in expanding my skill set and knowledge of the food industry. I am also striving to become a manager within a month, and I believe that with my hard work and dedication, I can achieve this goal. These experiences have taught me the importance of hard work, dedication, and commitment, and I aim to apply these qualities to all my future endeavors.

At first glance, I seem to be a well-spoken, hard-working, and loving individual. However, if you take a closer look and get to know me better, you'll realize that I've had my fair share of struggles in life. During high school, I went through a rough patch as I had minimal support from my family and was constantly plagued by doubts that others and I had about my capabilities. Unfortunately, these struggles led to my expulsion from school, leaving me feeling lost and hopeless.
Despite the challenges I faced, I refused to give up on myself. Every day, I reminded myself that I had a purpose and that if I stopped trying, nothing would change. With this mindset, I pushed myself beyond my limits and started thinking outside the box. As the oldest of seven siblings, I've always felt a sense of responsibility towards my family. Over the years, I've learned how to manage finances, babysit, remodel, and much more. Today, I'm proud to be a strong and independent woman who can take care of herself, even though it comes with its fair share of challenges.
Living independently is rewarding, but it can also be tough, especially when you're making almost minimum wage like me. Bills keep piling up, and expenses like car insurance, phone bills, and car notes make it difficult to make ends meet. Despite these challenges, I work tirelessly every day to keep my head above water, but it leaves me with no time for myself. To make matters worse, my mother claims me for the year 2023, but we don't have any connection, and she doesn't provide any support. Sadly, my dad, who lives in Chicago, is also unable to help me financially.
This fall, I'm starting college, and I'm determined to make the most of this opportunity. However, I'm worried that my financial struggles will compromise my education. To cover my bills, I plan to work at least two jobs, which will leave me with no time to work on my schoolwork or get enough sleep. It's a daunting prospect, but I'm saving every penny to avoid debt and make it through the first year. Unfortunately, it won't be enough, and I'm not sure how I'll pay for my expenses.
That's why I'm applying for this scholarship. If I were to receive it, it would be a financial relief and give me more time to focus on my studies. With more energy and time to dedicate to in-person and online classes, I'll be able to put more effort into my coursework and fully enjoy my experience at Madison College. Your support would make a significant difference in my life and help me overcome the obstacles in my path. I'm grateful for any help you can provide and eager to show you how much it means to me.
