Janean D. Watkins Overcoming Adversity Scholarship
Hi, my name is Maggie Young, I am a senior in high school and I am Asian-American. Being Asian-American is important to me because it represents who I am and represents my own heritage/ethnicity. During high school, my goals were to continue getting As and getting first honors ever since middle school which I have maintained ever since. I am also very good at organizing and balancing academics, extracurriculars, my job, and being a volunteer in my community. I am a local volunteer in my local community ever since my junior year of high school. I volunteered in my local library, food drives, food pantries, fundraisers for my school, during school, school events, and town events that my town is hosting such as Turkey Trot, etc. I love giving back to people in need because I am a very helpful person and I always see a lot of commercials on tv that people are always seeking volunteers everyday to help with food pantries and other stuff happening in their community, which makes me think that I should be one of the volunteers who should help these food pantries and hopefully it will get other people in the community to do their part to help these food pantries. and learned that if I work hard in my community and volunteer a lot, it will help me get more local scholarships and most importantly, most colleges and resumes would love to see what I have done in order to qualify me for a job in the future. My life isn't as easy or as perfect as it seems. An adversity that I have overcome is bullying and people teasing/mocking my nationality. Growing up, I was a shy person and didn't make that much friends in my childhood. It was rough. But then during middle school, some girls were making fun of me for no apparent reason which made some of my friends worried and were on my side to protect me. Before homeroom started, I decided to see if my teacher was here so she can help me solve this solution. Luckily, she was there in the classroom and I wanted to tell her that I have gotten bullied by two girls all because of my race. My teacher was shocked and upset and felt bad for me, but luckily she has given me great advice by trying to be the more dominant person and just ignoring them. She has decided to call the principal so that I can go to the principal's office to explain the situation. I went to the principal's office and told her the situation. My parents were called too into school and asked if I was okay and told me that I should've went to them early. Luckily, I knew what I should do in a situation and promised that if it happens again, I can tell my parents or teachers. I knew that I shouldn't show people my weakness, having bad posture, and have confidence in myself. This adversity has contributed in my goals and dreams by working hard to getting into college and of course, ignoring the negativity of people and who hate me. I don't care if people at the same time are trying to make me miserable because these people have nothing else to do and would rather try to ruin and crush my dreams. That is not going to happen because I am going to think one step ahead and hopefully becoming even more dominant and confident to people who make fun of me. I hope to continue this in the future.
Morgan Levine Dolan Community Service Scholarship
Growing up in an Asian-American household has been my strong suit ever since I was little. I have parents who always loved and cared about me and have always been on my side. As an older sibling to my younger brother, I know that it hasn't been easy since I am the oldest and have to take care of him. Usually, my parents are always busy with work and stuff and always rely on me to take care of my brother since I am the oldest in my family. My parents' life was rough and it was not always easy. Both of my parents grew up in a poor household, with little things they had but it was not that much since they don't have enough money to buy food, water, and clothes for themselves and for their own family as well. My grandparents' life was tough, taking care of their own children (aka my parents) and have to work too. On my dads side, my grandma worked as a seamstress and my grandpa worked as a laundromat person with my grandma. My dad has told me that still it was hard for him to rely on his own without his parents' being there for him 24/7 compared to this generation today with me and my brother that even if my parents are working and working hard to take care of me and my brother, they have always find time to hang out with me and my brother. The household was usually cramped such as my dad sharing a room with his siblings and the parents sharing their own room together instead of my dad having his own room too. My dad is living in the United States ever since he was little because my grandparents have immigrated to the United States a long time in order to start a new family and to start a new fresh life. My moms' side of the family is also poor like my dad but even rougher. Growing up in a family of 4 plus her was tough. She is the oldest like me and taking care of her 2 younger siblings while her parents were always busy with work. Their jobs are similar like my dads' side of the family. The other similarity is that both of my grandparents are immigrants, and getting in the United States wasn't easy. My moms' household was cramped too, since there is not enough bathrooms and they have to take a shower outside and the bathrooms and bedrooms are small and cramped for my mom and for her two younger siblings. My mom is always the busiest in my family to this day compared of how she took care of her younger siblings when she was my age. My mom was smart at my age. She immigrated to the United States all by myself without my parents' help and she was doing it to go to college and to start a new fresh life, which is how she met my dad and raised two wonderful and smart kids. Luckily, with enough money, my moms' parents paid for her college tutition for her whole semester. Their story about their struggles still live on. To achieve my dream of working in the business world in marketing/business analytics, I will attend a 4 year public university in state, giving me into substantial student tuition and debt. Any good amount of money will not only help me, but for my family as well. This scholarship is perfect for me since it shows that I care for my family and myself.
    Inflow Digital Marketing Scholarship
I have chosen to pursue a career in Digital Marketing/Advertising because ever since I was little, I have always thought that marketing/advertising was about commercials and people advertising products and promoting them in order to make money which was not only the case. I have also wanted to follow in my parents' footsteps since both of my parents are business people. My mom helps in business analytics and a bit of marketing/advertising since her business promotes products in her company such as vaccines and diagnostic systems which had been around for a long time ever since the company was established. My dad is a salesperson when he works in business, which persuades customers to buy his stuff based on the deals that he makes for his cilents and customers. If they buy it, he gets the deal. If the customers don't buy his products, then he doesn't get the deal. Mostly, I would follow in my mom's footsteps because her work and what her job is like based on what she is talking about interested me more based on the part where she helps with analyzing data and advertising based on the ideas that she come up and adding a lot of creative stuff in marketing such as with photoshop or with other cool designs and logos in order to persuade people to buy of this product, and hopefully that the company and my mom can earn more money. Besides in my dad's footsteps and listening to him talk about his job sounds a little hard for me since I am kinda shy and an awkward person. Persuading other people to buy something that I offer them isn't my strong suit. My ideal future role in Digital Marketing/Advertising is working with people that I am collabrating as a team knowing to come up with ideas in order to help get people to buy this product that we are offering to sell based on the marketing mix such as Product, Price, Place, Promotion, and Distribution. As part of my job as an employee in a company that I am not sure I am going to work at, I am going to use those 4 ps and figure out the target market/age range of the people that will love and use these products and hopefully buy it from my company. My company will be successful and any other problems/complaints that I will get from people, me and my team will figure out how to make it better and hopefully come up with more backup ideas in case that my business fails. My team will be really nice, smart, and comes up with great ideas. They help me and other people stay motivated if the marketing/advertising business will get tough and hopefully to not give up. I hope in the business world as I start working through adulthood, that I have a nice team with me and the company that I work at will be successful.

Being a good citizen means caring about your own country and loving your own country, especially the United States. An example of me being a good citizen is helping out and volunteering for my own country and community. As a volunteer of my community, I helped volunteered in food pantries and drives, fundraisers for my school and around my school, and volunteering in the library. This shows that I have been caring about my community and being a good citizen to others. Being involved in those stuff while volunteering not shows that I am a great citizen, but I help other people with anything and putting a smile on their face. This shows that everyday I spread kindness to people even if they are rude to me, I treat them the same way and that I know that I can treat people the way I want to be treated. Being a good citizen also means to follow and obey the laws. I have never gotten in trouble for breaking the laws, but whenever some people tell me that I am eligible to do something due to the laws that it is made, I listened and wait until I am that age to do that stuff such as buying alcohol until I am 21 and also buying a lottery ticket at age 21 as well. Voting is integral in remaining a free nation because it allows citizens to participate in a democratic process. Voting is also a civic duty to us besides participating in a jury duty. Without a wide spread of citizens participating to vote, there won't be enough voices heard in society. This can lead to decisions and policies that may not reflect the broader interests in people. When citizens exercise their rights to vote, they hold politicans accountable for their actions and decisions. Voting also ensures that the government remains accountable and representative of the people it serves. The Constitution means to me the building blocks of the United States' values and principles for its own nation. It is a document that adapts the evolution of the United States and safeguarding the individual liberties and giving citizens a fair and society to the people in the United States such as the saying of the Constitution, " Life, Liberty, and a Pursuit of Happiness". The Constitution is what helps make the amendments such as the Bill of Rights and helps establish the building of the government and setting the boundaries of power.
Jorian Kuran Harris (Shugg) Helping Heart Foundation Scholarship
I am a senior in high school who want to major and dreams of working in a business company in marketing after high school and college, but I am aware that it is not easy winning a scholarship or that it is expensive trying to work in a business and that it is a lot of hardwork. This scholarship will make a difference by helping me pay for tuition for college, paying for textbooks, and for my future job. This also helps me balance for the future such as buying a new house and saving money to go traveling around the world. Getting this scholarship will help me to continue working hard more and helping me becoming more confident and more motivation in my studies, especially applying to more scholarships. Having scholarships will help me get into more colleges and give me opportunities to participate in more community services/volunteering, internships, and getting into the National Honor Society. By getting more involved, it will give me a chance to succeed and getting me eligible to applying more in scholarships. It is also a financial support for me and my family since now everything is now expensive and my family can't afford a lot of things that people can't buy such as buying me a car, paying bills and taxes, and buying food to support the family. I remember a time when I had to deal with people who were using/mainpulating me for during their homework all because I was smarter than them. I was hiding it from my parents and back then, my confidence wasn't that too good. I let people dominate me and let them treat me this way because I didn't have a stable friendship than anyone because all I did was letting them treat me this way such as doing their homework with them and letting them say mean words to me. But that has put to an end. Afterwards, my parents realized what was happening and although they were disappointed that I didn't tell them this early, they have given me great advice such as "Don't let people dominant me" or "If this happens again, just ignore them" and lastly, "Stand up for myself and try to come up with a good comeback to them because if I do, they will leave me alone" and "Always say no if it doesn't feel right or if it makes me uncomfortable". My parents also tell me that people who hate me are actually insecure and jealous of that person and for themselves. Luckily, afterwards, I took my parents' advice for granted and did what I have to do during school to deal with the same people. Although they lost a good friend like me, I don't care. Life is too short to be upset and luckily, I can make better friends unlike them. They can't make me feel sad on the inside but luckily I will stand up to them if needed and they can be jealous of me all they want, but they don'r realize that I will be the dominant person than them. This experience has taught me to never give up on my dreams and to ignore negative people along the way. They are a waste of energy and space for me in helping me ruin my dreams and motivation of getting into the college that I want to go to. Everyone including me has a lot of strengths and weaknesses, but when we learn from our same mistakes, it makes us smarter everyday.
    1989 (Taylor's Version) Fan Scholarship
If my 2023 had a soundtrack, the songs from 1989 that would fit perfectly are 'Bad Blood' and 'Shake It Off.' I'm a huge fan of Taylor Swift's music, and her lyrics often resonate with my life experiences. Firstly, 'Shake It Off' has been a powerful anthem for me. I've listened to it countless times, and it reinforces the idea that it's okay to let go and be yourself. When Taylor sings, 'Cuz the players gonna play play play, and the haters gonna hate, hate, hate, baby, i'mma just shake shake shake, shake it off, shake it off!!!,' it's a reminder that I shouldn't let negativity affect me. My parents have always advised me to focus on myself and make the most of my high school years, as this time only comes once. They also tell me that I will be busy a lot since during my senior year of high school, I have been starting to get more involved in extracurriculars to obtain my goal of joining the National Honor Society such as Yearbook Club, Future Business Leaders of America/with School Store, National Art Honor Society, Interact Club, and Peer Mentoring. So, I took their advice to heart, and my senior year has been going wonderfully and getting involved more in my high school. Despite encountering some jealousy and negativity, I've learned to ignore it and, when necessary, stand up for myself. Secondly, 'Bad Blood' by Taylor Swift opened my eyes to the fact that not everyone is as kind as they may appear. As Taylor sings, 'Did you have to do this? I was thinking that you could be trusted,' I couldn't help but relate. I once considered someone a friend, only to realize later that they were taking advantage of me for homework answers. It took my parents stepping in and advising me to stop for me to see the manipulation. He would attempt to control me and resort to manipulation tactics, even resorting to threats if I didn't comply. Eventually, he resorted to harsh words, labeling me as rude and annoying, which couldn't have been further from the truth. In the end, he blocked me, a move that didn't annoy me since I was used to people blocking me and telling me "Oh we shouldn't be friends anymore." Reflecting on it now, I realize that some people may not always have good intentions, and it's important to be cautious especially when people try to assume me too.
    Sustainable Business Scholarship
I believe it's important for businesses to implement sustainable practices for several reasons. First, it helps protect our environment by reducing pollution, resources, and greenhouse gas emissions. This helps contribute to a healthier and sustainable environment for our planet for current and future generations. Second, sustainable practices in businesses can lead to cost savings. This helps businesses create eco-friendly products and services in business. This means that implementing sustainable practices can help boost a company's reputation and brand image, which attracts more customers and customers who care about the environment/planet. Third, most of our governments and regulators are placing greater emphasis on environmental regulations. By continuing to practice more sustainable practices, businesses can continue to comply with the current and future environmental laws so that they can avoid legal issues and don't have to pay/avoid a fine. Lastly, sustainability can help boost innovation and creativity within a company. This helps develop more technologies, products, and services that can help make more eco-friendly products and open up markets and revenue streams. It is not only measurable to the environment, but helps with economic, social, and regulatory trends, helping to make any business have safe, and long-term strategies for the future. Three eco-friendly practices that businesses can use to reduce their carbon footprint are Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy Sources, Waste Reduction and Recycling, and Sustainable Transportation Practices. Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy Sources can reduce businesses' carbon footprint by upgrading to better lighting such as LED, adding insulation and weatherproofing assessments, and using energy-efficient appliances. Using renewable energy sources such as solar or wind power, can help reduce/minimize a business's reliable source of fossil fuels, which helps decrease carbon emissions which is associated with energy consumption. Waste Reduction and Recycling can reduce businesses' carbon footprint by helping to get rid of a sustainable amount of waste from landfills which includes recycling paper, plastics, metals, etc. Businesses can focus on reducing other items and encourage everyone to use reusable products and materials in their own homes. Sustainable Transportation practices can reduce businesses' carbon footprint by encouraging business workers to use public transportation, carpooling, biking, and walking for commuting, which helps reduce carbon emissions without even having to travel on a plane. Business workers instead of regular cars, can switch to electric or hybrid vehicles, such as the Tesla, which can make a great impact on reducing carbon emissions. In conclusion, these three practices not only benefit the environment but help lead to cost savings and help increase a business's reputation among eco-conscious consumers. This helps demonstrate a commitment to sustainability and is an important thing in attracting more customers and hiring more workers.
    Nintendo Super Fan Scholarship
I don't play Nintendo as much, but my favorite co-op game which I heard of is Mario Kart. I remember when I was little, my cousin used to bring her Nintendo Switch, while my cousins brought their Nintendo dses to my grandma's house so they could start playing Mario Kart. I always see them play it a lot until one of them wins and sometimes the game can get pretty competitive. We were racing in the Rainbow Road Track in Mario Kart. My cousin gave their Nintendo DS to me which was fun and I played it against my cousins. Although I got second place instead of first, it was a pretty fun memorable and experiencing game even tho it was my first time. My cousin taught me how to use the controls when playing with the Nintendo DS. The reason I got second place was during the final lap during the Rainbow Road Track. Princess Peach was the character that I chose. In the final lap, my cousin who was playing Mario was faster than me and then all of a sudden, a blue shell swooped down and caused a chaotic finish which made me drift off the road and crash onto the grass. It was a chaotic finish. Mario Kart is my top choice to co-op play because you can play with your friends and family which is enough players in the game and it can create fun memories and thrilling moments. There was so much intense laughter and intense screaming, but I hope to play and practice more playing Mario Kart or Super Mario.

'Once Upon a Time in Hollywood' Insight Scholarship
The phrase "Once upon a time in Hollywood" beckons forth a vivid tapestry of imagery, redolent of an epoch when Tinseltown reigned as the nucleus of the entertainment universe. It evokes the allure of a glamorous era, a period steeped in the scent of possibility and the shimmering promise of stardom. This phrase serves as a portal to an age when celluloid dreams were spun against the backdrop of palm-lined boulevards and studio lots, each frame capturing the pulse of an evolving society. Hollywood, in its quintessential essence, is more than a physical location; it's an archetype, a realm of aspirations and artistry that weaves itself into the fabric of our collective consciousness. It's a place where stories, both poignant and fantastical, are etched onto the silver screen, imprinting upon us narratives that reverberate through time. It's a testament to the power of imagination, a cathedral where creators breathe life into characters and worlds, birthing cultural touchstones that endure generations. In my own journey, Hollywood's influence has been profound. From the epic tales of heroism that ignited my childhood to the nuanced narratives that challenged my perspectives as an adult, its impact is omnipresent. It's a source of escape, a realm where I've traversed galaxies, delved into historical epochs, and explored the deepest recesses of the human psyche. More importantly, it's a mirror reflecting the complexities of our existence, posing questions and provoking contemplation. In a fictional narrative, rooted in the effervescent era of "Once upon a time in Hollywood," we might accompany a young actress, a burgeoning talent, as she grapples with the duality of fame and authenticity. Amidst the glitz and glamour, we witness her journey through auditions, screen tests, and the relentless pursuit of artistic integrity. Along the way, she encounters enigmatic figures - directors with audacious visions, mentors harboring secrets, and fellow actors each carrying their own burdens of ambition and doubt. The narrative unfurls as a kaleidoscope of desires, betrayals, and profound revelations, emblematic of an industry that giveth and taketh away. Yet, even beyond the confines of the silver screen, Hollywood's resonance permeates the very marrow of societal discourse. It serves as a fulcrum, influencing conversations, shaping attitudes, and sometimes challenging the very bedrock of cultural norms. Its narratives become a lingua franca, a common ground where individuals of diverse backgrounds converge, finding common threads of empathy and understanding. "Once upon a time in Hollywood" embodies not just a geographical location, but a realm of infinite narratives, each thread is interwoven with the other, collectively narrating the human experience. It encapsulates the essence of an industry that transcends time and space, leaving an indelible mark on the collective imagination of humankind.

I am deeply committed to addressing a pressing social issue, particularly our education system. Within the confines of my home, I’m constantly bombarded by news reports highlighting a concerning trend: a significant number of children are falling behind in school, particularly in core subjects like reading and math. This generation, including kids and teenagers of my age group, faces a critical challenge. This predicament is worrisome for our society at large, as it raises the question of how we can thrive in the real world as adults if we lack proficiency in basic skills like math and reading. It’s disheartening to think that we, the youth, might be inadvertently steered off course. To combat this, I’m determined to engage my community in a meaningful conversation about this issue. In addition to fostering discussions, I plan to immerse myself further in my studies, seeking out every opportunity to enrich my understanding of the subjects that underpin our education. Moreover, I am driven to conduct thorough online research, scrutinizing the information provided by various news channels regarding education and politics. It’s crucial to discern whether this information holds true or if it’s merely a tool of propaganda, designed to sway public opinion. I believe that, in many cases, discerning the facts boils down to a matter of common sense, and I’m committed to being a vigilant advocate for truth. In this endeavor, I also recognize the immense value of diverse perspectives. I am eager to seek out feedback from others in my community and beyond, inviting constructive dialogue about our education system and the challenges we face. This inclusive approach will serve as a litmus test for the validity and urgency of the issue at hand, reinforcing my resolve to champion this cause. Recognizing the pivotal role that social media plays in the lives of today’s teenagers, I aim to leverage this platform to create a powerful campaign. This initiative seeks to counter the dissemination of false information and to fortify the minds of young learners against the pervasive influence of misinformation. While I acknowledge that it’s an uphill battle, spearheading this social media campaign serves as a testament to my profound dedication to education. It underscores my unwavering belief in the transformative power of knowledge. Finally, I am compelled to address the role of educators in shaping the aspirations of young minds. It is disconcerting to consider that well-meaning teachers may inadvertently guide students towards paths that do not align with their true potential. Encouraging activism or pursuits that may not align with their scholastic endeavors can be a disservice. I am determined to challenge these perceptions and advocate for an education system that empowers students to chart their own courses, unencumbered by preconceived notions. In sum, my commitment to rectifying the shortcomings in our education system is unwavering. Through informed discussions, personal enrichment, rigorous research, and inclusive dialogues, I aspire to lead a movement that fosters a culture of intellectual empowerment. Together, we can forge a brighter future for the generations to come.
Top Watch Newsletter Movie Fanatics Scholarship
If tasked with choosing just one movie to watch for the rest of my life, my unwavering choice would be “The Breakfast Club.” This iconic 80s film transcends its era, imparting timeless lessons about the transformative journey from adolescence to adulthood. It serves as a guiding light, illuminating the path towards responsible and mature behavior—a reflection of the growth we all aspire to achieve. The movie masterfully depicts a group of classmates forced to spend a Saturday in detention, each initially clashing with one another. Their assignment: write a 1,000-word essay about who they are. By the film’s conclusion, they arrive at a profound realization - that beneath the surface, each person is unique and multifaceted. This revelation carries an important message for high schoolers today: the labels we assign ourselves and others can be limiting and misleading. As they keenly put it, “Not everyone realizes that we are not all jocks, pretty girls, nerds, emo kids, or ‘bad boys’ with terrible parents.” Although the parents in “The Breakfast Club” may not be abusive, they fail to truly understand their children, pushing them towards pursuits they may not desire, hence why the detained classmates deem them “terrible.” In today’s high school landscape, the pressure to conform and fit predefined roles is ubiquitous. Many teenagers yearn for popularity, believing it will bestow the validation and acceptance they seek. “The Breakfast Club” astutely captures this universal desire for belonging, casting a revealing light on the intricacies of teenage social dynamics. This culminates in a pivotal scene where the students, amidst detention, unveil their true selves, displaying genuine vulnerability by sharing their fears and secrets. Furthermore, the film serves as a poignant reminder that authentic connections and understanding often arise from the most unexpected quarters. Through candid conversations and shared experiences, these seemingly disparate individuals unearth their shared humanity. This resonates profoundly in a world where initial judgments and preconceptions can all too often obscure the deeper truths that bind us all. “The Breakfast Club” transcends mere entertainment; it is a cinematic tapestry that seamlessly weaves together themes of identity, acceptance, and growth. Its enduring relevance lies in its ability to shed light on the universal struggles of adolescence, offering a roadmap toward personal development and mutual respect. For these reasons, it stands as a film that not only entertains but also profoundly educates, making it my definitive choice for a lifelong cinematic companion.
    “Stranger Things” Fanatic Scholarship
If I were to assemble a squad with three characters from the show to confront a new supernatural threat, my choices would be Eleven, Dustin, and Mike. I’d select Eleven for her extraordinary mind-controlling abilities. Additionally, she possesses the unique capability to communicate with Vecna or anyone else she can imagine or dream of, harnessing the power of her Rapid Eye Movements (REM) during her dreams. Her use of powers to vanquish villains is not only impressive but also crucial for our chances of defeating the supernatural threat. Despite her unfamiliarity with the concept of friendship, having been confined in a lab with Martin Brenner, whom Eleven refers to as Papa, she brings a set of extraordinary skills to the team. Dustin’s inclusion is a no-brainer. His sharp intellect and penchant for research, combined with his insatiable appetite for books, make him an invaluable asset. His ability to communicate with his equally intelligent friend and summer fling, Susie, using a walkie-talkie, adds an extra layer of resourcefulness. In the event of a situation involving parallel universes, Dustin’s expertise will be indispensable in navigating that complex terrain. Finally, Mike’s prowess in problem-solving and strategic thinking is another invaluable asset. He’s skilled at concealing Eleven from his parents, as well as his sisters Nancy and Holly, demonstrating resourcefulness in the face of adversity. Mike excels at synthesizing information and devising effective solutions when challenges arise.”
    “The Office” Obsessed! Fan Scholarship
The character I resonate with most from ‘The Office’ is Pam. Similar to Pam, I can be quiet at times and prefer not to be constantly interrupted or annoyed by certain individuals, even if they’re distracting. Like Pam, I also enjoy occasionally pulling pranks with my coworkers to bring some laughter into the workplace. Pam’s work ethic is admirable. When she encounters challenges at work, she takes the initiative to approach her boss, Michael, for guidance. It’s amusing, though sometimes a bit silly, to see how Michael playfully feigns ignorance to tease Pam, adding a comedic element to the show. Watching ‘The Office’ has not only entertained me, but it has also shaped my sense of humor and provided valuable insights into workplace dynamics. The show has introduced me to important business terminology, such as ‘getting laid off,’ which means being fired. Additionally, it highlights how in the event of a branch or office closure, employees may need to seek new positions or face termination. If I get a chance to own a business someday, a business that I believe I would start in my local community is a personalized event planner to help plan and coordinate events since I love organizing and planning events and other stuff for other things. But I sometimes plan out parties and organizations when needed to not make sure people do not get bored and most importantly, to have a great time/memorable experience. This business would contribute to the general welfare of your local community through community engagement by bringing people from my community together which brings a sense of connection and helps create relationships and friendships with others. Next is Economic Impact, which helps to collaborate with local vendors, stores, suppliers, and service providers by supporting their businesses and they can sponsor my business to other businesses such as local businesses to help promote and gain additional revenue like hotels, restaurants, and transportation services. This can also boost the local economy and help my business gain more productivity and more money. As a personalized event planner, I can also support charitable and non-profit organizations such as the St. Jude Research Hospital to help kids fight childhood diseases such as cancer, leukemia, etc. I would promote that charitable / non-profit organization because it would help the children and the children's family and friends. Fundraising and organizing can help me and other people to address local community needs and contribute to the betterment of society. As people notice my business and they notice my success in helping to plan parties, weddings, etc, they can spread the word about my business and attract more people in the future and as the owner of this business, I can encourage them to return and come back if they want me to plan any special events for them. I would go and develop this personalized event business by developing a business plan that outlines my goal, target markets, and most importantly, how to attract customers into coming to my personalized event planner store, whether to be in person or if I can do an online business by creating a website as well using web design. I would also definitely be using my marketing and promotion skills by using online advertising, and social media marketing to promote my business on Instagram and other social media, collaborating with local businesses, etc. Lastly, I would also make sure to provide exceptional customer service by having great communication with my clients and making sure they have the best time when working in my personalized event planner business. Even if I want to own this business or not, I hope to accomplish this in the future.

"Never Have I Ever" stands as one of my cherished Netflix series. The narrative orbits around Devi, an Indian-American student who confronts an array of challenges during her high school journey. In the inaugural year, a heart-wrenching incident unfolded, shattering her world as her father succumbed to a heart attack during her music concert. BTS holds a significant and special place in my heart as my favorite K-Pop group/artist. Their profound impact on my life is undeniable, stemming from the deep connection I feel with their music and the aspirations I once held of meeting them in person. One of the most remarkable facets of BTS is their influence, not only within the music industry but also on global culture as a whole. Through their poignant lyrics and music, BTS consistently delivers messages of solace and optimism, resonating particularly with the younger generation and those confronted by the challenges of Asian hate crimes. An exemplary illustration of this is found in their song "Permission to Dance," where they encourage listeners to embrace their inner strength and define their happiness, declaring, "Can't hold me down 'cause you know I'm a fighter." This brand of positivity is a prevailing theme throughout their entire discography. Beyond their musical accomplishments, BTS takes a resolute stance on crucial societal issues, thereby cultivating a strong bond with their fans. Their unwavering support for meaningful causes amplifies their influence on a global scale. Notably, BTS has played an instrumental role in dismantling language barriers. Their music's popularity has inspired countless fans to learn Korean, explore diverse languages, and delve into different cultures, underscoring the unifying power inherent in music and artistic expression. A powerful testament to BTS's impact lies in their contribution to the music industry's staggering revenues, which soared to an impressive $21.6 billion in 2020, marking the highest figure since 2002. "The Summer I Turned Pretty" Fan Scholarship
"The Summer I Turned Pretty" is a captivating series that delves into the complexities of relationships and emotions. Among the characters, Jeremiah stands out as a figure of kindness, care, and humor. While Conrad may have his allure, Jeremiah's qualities make him a strong contender for the audience's favor. One of the primary reasons to root for Jeremiah is his genuine kindness and caring nature. From the early episodes of the first season, it is evident that he treats Belly with respect and warmth. When contrasted with Conrad's dismissive attitude and derogatory remarks towards Belly, Jeremiah's behavior shines even brighter. Jeremiah's enthusiasm upon Belly's arrival at the bonfire exemplifies his welcoming disposition. He showcases his happiness for Belly's presence and sets a precedent for his encouraging nature. Jeremiah's consistent support for Belly cements his place as a dependable friend. When Conrad is unavailable or preoccupied, Jeremiah steps in to lend a helping hand. An instance of this is when Jeremiah assists Belly in practicing her driving. This willingness to contribute to Belly's life highlights his reliability and dedication. A significant indicator of Jeremiah's genuine affection for Belly is his thoughtfulness. The episode where he presents Belly with a good luck charm on her birthday speaks volumes about his consideration for her. Unlike Conrad's neglect of a birthday gift, Jeremiah's gesture underscores his attentiveness and genuine care for Belly's happiness. Jeremiah's humor is another aspect that makes him endearing. His ability to make Belly laugh with lighthearted banter and meaningless questions demonstrates his positive outlook and knack for brightening her mood. His role as a funny and supportive friend contributes to the depth of their relationship. The debutante ball scene in which Jeremiah serves as Belly's escort showcases his distinct approach to life. His ability to infuse levity by playing a comical song, encouraging dancing, and even rescuing Belly displays his unique perspective on making situations more comfortable and enjoyable. His role as a lifeguard adds an interesting layer to his character, portraying him as a protective figure. In "The Summer I Turned Pretty," Jeremiah's character stands out for his kindness, caring nature, support, thoughtfulness, and humor. While Conrad's appeal may have its merits, Jeremiah's qualities make him an exemplary choice for Team Jeremiah. His role as a reliable friend, supportive companion, and a source of lightheartedness makes him an essential part of the narrative, enriching the dynamics and emotions of the series.
    Windward Spirit Scholarship
My perspective on the Ode to Millennials-Gen Z is that it highlights some prevalent trends, such as our excessive reliance on phones and a tendency to remain indoors. I believe we should prioritize reading books more frequently and cultivate a greater sense of empathy for others, rather than engaging in hurtful behaviors. Our constant fixation on social media is concerning, and I advocate for setting limits on screen time and incorporating breaks from electronic devices which is known as the digital age to this day. Moreover, it's noticeable that both Gen Z and millennials are more prone to taking offense these days, even over minor matters. This heightened sensitivity might reflect the evolving landscape of communication and a growing emphasis on respectful discourse. However, it's also important to strike a balance that encourages open discussion while respecting diverse perspectives. The pervasive influence of social media is undeniable, and it's worth acknowledging that its impact can sometimes become overwhelming. The pressures of online interactions can lead to distressing thoughts among individuals of my generation, including thoughts of self-harm or feelings of insecurity due to negative comments. This phenomenon underlines the significance of promoting mental well-being and responsible online behavior, as well as fostering safe spaces for expression and support. Furthermore, the habit of comparing oneself to others on social media is detrimental to self-esteem. Such comparisons often fail to capture the full reality of individuals' lives, leading to unwarranted feelings of inadequacy. Encouraging individuals to appreciate their unique qualities and focus on personal growth rather than external validation is crucial in combating this issue. In conclusion, the Ode raises pertinent issues about modern life and the challenges that Millennials and Gen Z face. It calls for a thoughtful approach to technology use, a more empathetic online culture, and an understanding of the complexities surrounding mental health in the digital age. We now have AI all thanks to advanced technology and electric cars such as Tesla. The Tesla is alright, but at the same time, it sucks because what if it runs out of battery to charge and there is no charging station, what are you going to do? You have to find a Tesla charging station and pay more money. I don't know what is going to happen next in the future, but I feel like technology is going to continue getting even more advanced now and that Gen Z and millennials will always be on their phones and electronics, but hopefully, Gen Z and millennials will come to a sense to start taking breaks on phones and other electronic devices and should start going outside more, or to read a book.

Undoubtedly, the most influential person in my life is my mother, an embodiment of strength, kindness, and intelligence. Her wisdom has not only shaped the person I am today but has also provided invaluable guidance, particularly in navigating high school life and, most notably, interactions with boys. I've gained profound insights from the lessons my mother has shared with me, especially when I realized that some of my friends weren't treating me with the respect I deserved. Observing their behaviors, such as disdainful looks and negative treatment, allowed me to uncover their true intentions. During these moments, my mother's unwavering support and advice became my guiding light. Her counsel, often a step ahead of the situation, has become a cornerstone of my decision-making. I wholeheartedly embrace her guidance, recognizing that learning from experiences nurtures inner strength. She encourages me to distance myself from these so-called "friends" and to disregard their hurtful actions. She notes that some might be envious due to their insecurities. I also acquired the skills to reverse my car while diligently checking my mirrors and using my senses to gauge proximity to other vehicles. While driving entails various skills such as parking, signaling, and braking, I acknowledge that I still have much to learn. With continued practice, I aspire to become an experienced and adept driver. In conclusion, my commitment to community service, engagement with young children, and consistent practice of chivalrous conduct are attributes that align well with Gryffindor House. Like the brave and valiant members of this house, I too endeavor to embody the values of courage, honor, and integrity in my everyday actions. The challenges I've faced with my IEP and learning disability have been significant, but I've managed to overcome them by staying determined and seeking support. Transitioning from smaller, specialized classes to regular classes was initially tough during my sophomore year in high school. I struggled to keep up with the pace, take notes, and participate actively. An instance where my geometry teacher gave a quiz soon after introducing new material left me feeling unprepared and stressed, tempting me to give up. Despite my efforts, it was frustrating to see a classmate receiving preferential treatment simply because they grasped the content quicker. This prompted me to switch to a slower-paced geometry class, which proved to be more accommodating to my learning needs. In my junior year, I decided to give regular classes another shot, this time in Environmental Science. Adapting to this class went more smoothly. I found an understanding teacher who encouraged questions and appreciated my efforts in class. While my quiz and test results might not have met my expectations, I was gradually becoming more comfortable in a standard classroom setting. My environmental science teacher's flexible teaching pace helped me better comprehend the material. This experience reinforced my belief that perseverance and attentiveness were key to overcoming challenges. Despite almost giving up on that class, I realized that I shouldn't back down or drop the class. With my parents and teachers by my side, I knew they would help me understand the material and encourage me to do my best. My motivation to continue my education stems from my unwavering determination and self-set goals. I've developed a strong sense of self-motivation that consistently reminds me not to surrender in the face of difficulties. Additionally, having the support of my parents and teachers has been invaluable. They offer consistent encouragement and a safe space to seek assistance when needed. As I aspire to major in business, I've set my sights on college and full-ride scholarships. My goal-oriented mindset drives me to excel academically, and I'm hopeful that my high school grades will help me secure a spot in reputable business schools. In conclusion, the journey of managing my IEP and learning disability has been marked by challenges and victories. Overcoming the switch to regular classes, as well as adapting to a new pace of learning, required tenacity and an open line of communication with supportive teachers. The belief in myself and the encouragement from my parents and educators serve as powerful motivators, propelling me toward my dreams of college success and a prosperous future in the business field. Although I almost gave up, I learned that I should explore my classes and always challenge myself.

As George Santayana aptly noted, "Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it." By understanding history's lessons, we can navigate our present and future with greater wisdom. The passion I hold for history is a guiding force in shaping my aspirations. As I envision my future, I see myself imparting the significance of history to the next generation. Becoming a high school U.S. History teacher would allow me to kindle the same fervor for the subject within my students. This role not only lets me share the stories that have defined our nation but also empowers me to mold critical thinkers who can glean insights from the past to navigate the complexities of today's world. The impact of U.S. history reverberates across the timeline of global events. Through my teaching, I aspire to highlight how these pivotal moments connect, creating a mosaic of causality that sheds light on the trajectory of our nation. In conclusion, in the pages of history, I find not only intrigue but also a reservoir of lessons, guiding principles, and timeless wisdom. History, as an invaluable teacher, urges us to learn from our predecessors, fostering a collective desire for a brighter future. As I embark on my journey toward becoming a U.S. History teacher, I eagerly anticipate sharing this passion with my students, igniting within them a flame that will illuminate their paths long after they leave my classroom. Through history, we connect with the past to craft a more enlightened tomorrow.

The role that fear plays in my life is that it serves as a protective mechanism. Fear alerts me to potential dangers and readies me to navigate such situations effectively. For instance, when I was learning how to drive, I experienced initial nervousness and anxiety. However, with time, I familiarized myself with the controls and learned to manage the steering wheel confidently. Driving, which initially induced nervousness, eventually became a source of reduced stress. Fear, in its essence, acts as a vital survival instinct. It heightens my senses and sharpens my focus, allowing me to respond appropriately to various challenges. As I encountered new experiences, like driving for the first time, fear prompted me to be cautious and attentive. This cautiousness has translated into a more controlled and composed approach to potentially risky situations. Furthermore, fear's influence extends beyond immediate physical threats. It encourages me to assess situations critically, consider potential outcomes, and make informed decisions. Rather than being a hindrance, fear has become a tool for personal growth and development. Overcoming fears and anxieties has shown me that resilience and adaptability are valuable traits that can be nurtured over time. In conclusion, fear is not merely a negative emotion; it serves as a valuable guide in my life. By alerting me to potential dangers, fear has helped me remain vigilant and prepared. It has taught me to navigate new experiences with caution, enabling personal growth and a more composed approach to challenges. As I continue to learn from and manage fear, I am better equipped to lead a fulfilling and balanced life. Anastasiya Y. Hardie Women in Engineering Memorial Scholarship
Coming to America was a crazy thing that happened to me. When I was little, my parents didn't have enough money and not enough financial aid to pay for our taxes and bills. So my parents decided to move out of our apartments and decided to move to America since my family has dreamed of going to America since I learned and asked my teacher what America is like since I've never been to America. I've lived in Hong Kong with my mom and English wasn't my first language, only Chinese. My English has gotten a little better ever since I moved to America and I did always wanted to pursue engineering since I have gotten better and great at Math in school. I asked my parents if we want to go to America, and they said Yes since they believed in my dreams they said it will be great if we have gotten a new start for myself and my family. As going through the process, I have to take a test proving whether I am eligible to become a US Citizen or not like knowing who is the first president of the United States and knowing the three branches of Congress such as the Legislative Branch, Executive, and Judicial Branch. History is not my strong suit of a choice of subject, but I've studied hard and proved to my parents that I am a smart person and I shouldn't give up. America has a lot of opportunities in life and I have understood what the American Dream is when I read books such as The Great Gatsby and Of Mice and Men. In Of Mice and Men, George and Lennie have big dreams of owning a farm with animals such as rabbits and Chickens. The Great Gatsby shows that while wealth and extravagance may appear to equal happiness to an outsider, money cannot buy the character's love. In life, we all have big dreams and as we have dreams for ourselves, especially goals, we should never give up and always achieve no matter what even if things and situations are in our way. Some area of engineering that excites me is computer engineering since I've always loved technology and using the engineering skills I've learned in College, I can help problem-solve and use critical thinking when helping to develop computer software and hardware without no hacks and viruses since people on computers always get hacked when going on websites or going on social media accounts. Engineering is always my passion and at least I have made it to the United States and hopefully people will accept me.

So even though I have both parents which is not part of what the essay is, which I'm sorry for that, whenever my dad is not here or is busy with work, I've gotten my only person who is relatable and going through the same things as me: My mother. Although she is not single, I have grown up with her in so many ways. My mother tells me to never give up on school and everything else in life. She tells me even though someday I may not be valedictorian or salutatorian in high school or the day that I graduate high school, she knows that I've tried so hard to get to where I'm in now and getting good grades in school which is a great thing. My mother is like my best friend and she is like a safe person. Anytime I ask my mother for advice, me and her is like a safe place or a safe zone to talk to her about anything. Although sometimes we get into arguments or fights, I still love her no matter what and she helped me with volunteer work in school, helps me with homework, and gives me food, love, comfort, and shelter. My mother has shaped me to be the most confident and smartest young woman I have ever been. Like my mom, I'm always hard-working and sometimes efficient in so many ways just like her. She is always hardworking, going through so many things in life such as being an immigrant to America and going through finding colleges and applying to so many scholarships before having me and my brother. She has told me so many stories about how she has overcome being an immigrant and now she is going through the realities of starting to become a United States American Citizen. I understand what she has gotten through and hopefully inspires other single mothers the same thing or is relatable just like my mom even though she is not single. Thanks to my mother's inspiration and based on what she is going through, again, I'm still the hardworking, proud, and beautiful young lady I have shaped up to be. I've been getting good grades in school and getting the Superintendent's Commended List all thanks and credits to my mom for helping me study and saying that I don't have to memorize what I learn, but to understand the topics that I'm learning in school and when it comes to driving too. I love my mom no matter what and she will always be my best friend.
    DRIVE an IMPACT Today Scholarship
Determination: I have experienced determination by not giving up, being confident, and always being proud. Growing up in Middle School, I used to be socially awkward, like a wallflower and always insecure about myself, and comparing to myself to other girls on Social Media, who I have described are "pretty" and get always jealous when people comment nice things about other girls even though I assume and thought people don't find me pretty, especially myself. That's when my friends always tell me and my parents that I'm beautiful the way I am and especially when I look in the mirror telling myself the same thing. I know this story doesn't make sense but I hope women and teenagers like me can relate to what I'm going through and always tell themselves that your great and beautiful because life is too short to compare themselves to other people and always ignore people that brings negativity in your life too. Respect: I've always respected people, but sometimes people don't respect me. What I meant by that is that I used to get bullied due to my race which gets me so mad and also makes me upset. Luckily, I had my parents by my side telling me that people are just jealous of me and that they have nothing else to do in their life. If people don't respect me, then let them be according to myself. Respect is known as the Golden Rule in the 6 pillars of character. I've also respected people's boundaries if they feel uncomfortable and don't want to talk to me, that's fine too. Innovation: I feel like I've only come up with ideas on how to make my high school better such as what makes people want to go to my high school, and how to make my high school look nice. I've come up with ideas such as painting the hallways of my school colors such as green and white and providing better air conditioning since people complain in my school that the air conditioner doesn't work. Versatility: I've gotten involved in my school's extracurricular clubs such as the National Art Honor Society and Interact Club. My mom has pushed me to join extracurricular clubs since it is better than staying home doing nothing. Yes, I have homework to do too, but to my mom, I feel like it is not enough. I've gotten involved in extracurricular clubs since junior year. I didn't join during the first 2 years of high school because I didn't feel like joining any of them and it was during COVID. To make it short, I had a blast joining extracurricular clubs and I've made new friends along the way and my teacher who runs those clubs are super nice and super sweet. We've helped benefit my high school too and helped around the community. Equality: I've shown equality by respecting everyone's nationality and race. It's better than saying some racial slurs and saying stuff that made people offense. I've learned that we should accept people's differences and opinions too even though we don't agree with them. Nurture: I've shown nurture by being a good example to my younger brother and by taking care of my parents too. Sometimes family always comes first in a situation and we should always know, especially for myself that family always take care of each other whenever needed. I've helped cook, and clean by taking care of my house for my family and they are especially proud of me hopefully I can keep up with the great work.
Learner Education Women in Mathematics Scholarship
What draws me to math is using your problem-solving and critical thinking skills. Sometimes, math problems can be tricky, but once you practice and make mistakes, you'll get the hang of it and as of now, we are humans who are always learning and solving things every day in the real world. Math can sometimes give you the same or different answers, it just mostly depends on what topic your learning in math, it can be addition or subtraction, or it can be algebra. My parents, especially my mom always tells me that Math is important especially in the real world and especially when you are out shopping and paying for your groceries and paying your bills and taxes. Growing up when I was little, I've always found math hard as I thought it would be, and I was pretty neutral about it when learning about math, especially my mom helping me with math homework. I didn't care about math and it is always frustrating about why we have to learn math and what is the concept of it. Are we going to use it in the real world? My curiosity and interest in Math have changed since during my junior year in High School where I took Algebra I and II. Little I didn't realize is that my likeness (if that is even a real word) or hatefulness will change in my liking of the subject of math. Geometry was my weak spot especially when it comes to Math because I was having a hard time knowing what a 90-degree angle is like, and how to calculate degrees and using trigonometry in Geometry class. I'm bad at explaining Geometry, but I'm pretty sure that's what geometry is like. Anyways, I realized after taking math during my years of High School, Middle, and Elementary School, I realized Math can be used especially when I'm learning how to drive. As you can see, I've been learning how to drive and completed my 6 hours. Whenever I do turns and drive around highways and streets, especially parallel parking, my driving instructor always says when doing parallel parking to sometimes drive at a 90-degree angle and I told him it's hard because like I said, since I am bad at geometry, I can't "visualize" what a 90-degree angle looks like, but it's okay, I'll get the hang and practice of parallel parking. Mathematics can help me determine the sales tax of a product whenever me and my mom go shopping for groceries and figure out how many hours and minutes it takes to get to one place or another. The possibilities are endless. I will always need math no matter what in the situation I'm in.
    E.R.I.C.A. Scholarship
My passion for science is learning about fossil fuels and the benefits and negatives of burning coal, oil, and natural gas and how it affects the planet. Science also teaches me how to protect our planet Earth and the dangers of climate change such as rising sea levels, flooding, etc. Science helps study the world around us such as photosynthesis and how glucose is made which is known as sugar. My passion for technology is learning how to create websites such as using Web Design. In my junior year, I learned how to use technology in web design such as learning how to code/create websites using HTML and using google sites to create community websites and buttons. I want to use web design when I start doing marketing which is my passion, which I'm not sure about, but I hope to use web design more in the future. I am also thinking of making a website for when I have my website and also using web design to create logos on google sites or Photoshop which is a class I also took during my junior year. I'm not interested in engineering, but I know that engineering is involved with electricity, manufacturing, and medicine. Engineering also helps with developing new technologies for clean air quality, recycling, and green materials. I don't have an inspiration or passion. Engineering also helps with problem-solving. I love the arts. I think the art is amazing and beautiful with the amazing artworks and drawing pictures. I joined the National Art Honor Society (NAHS) during my junior year. During the beginning of the National Art Honor Society, we made a mural for the Little Falls Recreation which helps with the community. It was hard working and exhausting since most people drew sketches of the sports player and helped paint the logos and the backgrounds of the mural. Even though I'm not sure if we finished the mural or not, I feel like we have done a great job so far and we put our time and effort into the mural. Before Christmas, we helped made and sell holiday cards by making it for people who can't afford a Christmas Card during the Winter and used the money to buy more art supplies for the art department and my high school. I sometimes love drawing in my free time and use it to keep it as part of my artwork or to give it to a friend. Lastly, I love learning Math such as being good at Algebra II. It is easy to learn how to problem solve and understand equations and formulas during Algebra II. More practice and learn about Algebra II, the better I get. I'm planning to use Math as a passion/inspiration to help pay my bills and taxes as I get older and problem-solve when using it for Marketing/Business such as promoting a company and the product being sold, for example.
    Single-Parent Household Undergraduate Scholarship
I support my community by volunteering in food pantries, churches, and donations. This helps bring a smile to people's faces and also helps families too in need. My plan for the future is to continue my education in college such as Montclair State University by majoring in Business and Marketing. I decided to pick that major since I always see my parents working as a businessperson and always ask questions to either my mom or dad why they always analyze and check out graphs when working as a businessperson and more about marketing. I hope I can reach that step someday in the future and I have a lot of goals and missions to achieve in life. I should be awarded this scholarship because I have been working hard in school to maintain good grades. Getting into a reputable college is my ultimate goal. However, I understand that achieving good grades alone is not sufficient to meet the criteria for admission. In addition to my academic efforts, I have actively participated in extracurricular activities such as joining the Interact Club and the National Honor Society. These extracurricular involvements have broadened my perspective beyond the confines of the school and have exposed me to the needs of our local communities. They also helped boost my self-esteem and especially my confidence. During my freshmen and sophomore year and especially covid, I wasn't sure what to do before since I didn't know what major and what to do after high school. Now after taking classes and understanding what majors to do after researching colleges and scholarships, I finally decide I know what to do and decided to improve my confidence during the summer and the beginning of my junior year. My mom told me that junior year is the time that colleges are looking at my GPA and extracurriculars which is why I decided to start participating in community service and extracurriculars which is how scholarships will help me. By contributing to my community and participating, I will get more scholarships by also getting good grades as well. Through volunteering my time at local food pantries, churches, and community organizations, I have discovered a passion for helping others. I particularly enjoy working at the local food pantries because it allows me to interact with a diverse range of people. Witnessing the impact of my contributions on those in need brings me immense joy. This scholarship would hold great significance for both me and my family. It would assist me in covering tuition and book expenses while also alleviating the financial burden on my family, especially during these challenging times. My parents work diligently each day to provide for our family, and I am determined to support them. Receiving this scholarship would be a significant step towards achieving that goal.

I've had some high school teachers who have influenced me, but if I have to pick one, it would be my English teacher, Mr. Schwab. Mr. Schwab is a nice English teacher who not only makes me and my classmates laugh, but he always tells me to never give up, and always strive well in my other classes, and during my senior year. Even if I have big dreams such as being a businesswoman and working in marketing or being a scientist or an astronaut, he would always support my dreams no matter what and I can visit him in his classroom no matter what. He says that you never know the value of the moment until it becomes a memory which means that even though we all create happy moments, you never know the meaning of a happy moment until you think of it and all of a sudden when you look back into it, it is like a memory that you will never forget. During my junior year, I have gotten bullied and even then, I had to miss my English test at the beginning of my junior year. Luckily, I went to Mr. Schwab for help and he told me to ignore these people and I can always come to him if I have trouble or need help. He always says amazing things about me such as being a hardworking, productive, and most importantly, a sweet person. Mr. Schwab helped me feel comfortable and helped me boost my self-esteem in his class. Ever since I was little and during middle school, I was mostly shy and sometimes refuse to participate in class since I get scared that I get an answer wrong I used to hate when people look at me even if I raise my hand in class. But now I feel like that since I see that Mr. Schwab is a comfortable teacher based on his personality, I realized that I should participate more to of course, boost my grade and to get Mr. Schwab's feedback on whether to see if I get the answer right or wrong. For example, when I was in class and reading the book "The Crucible" during the school year, he said I explained the storyline and dialogue perfectly which helped me passed my quizzes and tests which my English teacher was proud of. In conclusion, without my English teacher, I wouldn't have been here where I have started now and I would have survived my junior year without my English teacher.

Hi, my name is Maggie Young and I am going to be a senior in high school. I have never gone through obstacles in my life, but I hope to earn this scholarship for college and to use it in the future. I have been working hard in school to maintain good grades. Getting into a reputable college is my ultimate goal. However, I understand that achieving good grades alone is not sufficient to meet the criteria for admission. In addition to my academic efforts, I have actively participated in extracurricular activities such as joining the Interact Club and the National Honor Society. Witnessing the impact of my contributions on those in need brings me immense joy. This scholarship would hold great significance for both me and my family. It would assist me in covering tuition and book expenses while also alleviating the financial burden on my family, especially during these challenging times such as inflation, etc. Applying to more scholarships would help me win more money and I hope to find good colleges that have great scholarships for me who meet the quality that I meet and hopefully the requirements. My parents work diligently each day to provide for our family, and I am determined to support them. Receiving this scholarship would be a significant step towards achieving that goal. I would also use this money in buying my apartment or house if I can afford that since I am planning to buy one in the future but to do that, I have to find myself a job which I am planning to find in my senior year which to find a job who has high paying. Having my own money would help pay for my house bills such as internet, water, electricity, etc and also pay for my taxes and keep it for my social security when I retire. We all go through obstacles in our life, but as long as we don't give up and always believe in yourself, you can do it and strive to success.
    Strong Leaders of Tomorrow Scholarship
I show leadership/making me a leader in my life is by being a role model for my younger brother and my cousins. For example, I tutor and help them with their schoolwork, guide them through their middle school years with advice and struggles, and participate in the Chinese Community Young Lions. During my participation in the Chinese Community Young Lions, I tell little kids about the history of Chinese New Year like the origins of the Zodiac Animals in the Chinese Calendar which is similar to the Zodiac Signs we have today, but different, The Lion Dance, and why red is a significant color in Chinese New Year. Chinese New Year is important in my family and I feel like it should be important for everyone to learn more about Chinese New Year because most little kids can learn more about my race and respect Chinese culture. Since my little brother is almost done with middle school, I can give him advice about high school and to always get involved in his schoolwork or if he has time, I can encourage him to join a club or a sport based on his interest. Being a leader when it comes to leadership is to be passionate and focused about what goals and plans I want to do in the future and make decisions for others and myself. For example, my goal is to be a business and marketing major and by working hard in school such as getting As and trying out marketing and entrepreneurship in my senior year, I will try to see if that class still interests me and that it is also okay to pick a different path for myself in the future. I also demonstrate leadership is helping my classmate with schoolwork that he missed in his English Class and helping him pass a quiz which I got him an A and also boosted his grade for the school year. I also hope to achieve more leadership/being a leader by continuing to do what I am doing now and applying those leadership skills based on what I learned during my senior year. I will join a peer mentoring club by helping freshmen with study skills, stress management, and how to survive in their high school years. I will also help out in the peer mentoring club to give the freshmen a tour around my high school in August before the school year starts which makes me a great example to the younger kids. Leadership is not about collaborating with other people, it is inspiring other people to achieve success and to try their best in their work.

I'm not sure if this is a learning disability since I am in the Special Education Program, but I used to have Autism when I was 5 years old(Kindergarten). This means that I have delayed learning and couldn't learn to read or write until later. I also lack motor skills when I was little such as tying my shoes later in age and had to take speech therapy classes throughout middle, elementary, and high school to improve my reading, my autism, and my vocabulary. I even took classes with an aide starting in Kindergarten-11th grade since they allow me to give me extra time throughout tests, quizzes, etc. Now, I don't even need speech classes anymore since I have improved. I feel like I am going to take what my high school calls an essentials class for English, while the rest is regular class since before in my 10th-grade year, I wasn't used to it which made me switch classes in my geometry class since the pace was too fast for me, so I dropped down to an essentials class which has a slow pace. Now when I start my senior year, I am starting to take regular classes, except for English. Even though English is sometimes a hard subject, I am not taking a regular class because of the fast pace, but I feel like the slow pace is better for me. Sometimes, my other classes are easy for me since I learned some things when I'm not in school or I learned it previously throughout middle and elementary school. My motivation for pursuing high education is to keep studying hard, believing in myself to not give up, it is okay and normal to be stressed, and have people believe in me telling me that I can do it. I feel like I am a good candidate for this scholarship because I have been working hard in school to maintain good grades. Getting into a reputable college is my ultimate goal. However, I understand that achieving good grades alone is not sufficient to meet the criteria for admission. In addition to my academic efforts, I have actively participated in extracurricular activities such as joining the Interact Club and the National Honor Society. Big Picture Scholarship
A movie that has had a great impact on my life is The Perks of Being a Wallflower by Stephen Chbosky which I read in my English Class during my Junior year. I love The Perks of Being a Wallflower. Before I didn't know that it was also a book too and the first time I read it, I didn't know that it was written in letters until my English teacher told me. The Perks of Being a Wallflower talks about a boy named Charlie, who is the main character of the story, he is a Wallflower and a really shy person, who goes through the ups and downs of his freshman year such as going to school parties, dances, etc. Charlie had to deal with trauma in his life such as his best friend Michael's suicide, and Aunt Helen's death. As he copes with his trauma and depression, he writes a letter to a "friend" which we don't know to who this "friend" is Charlie referring. Some possibilities of this "friend" is Charlie referring to us also known as the readers who are reading this book and watching the movie, his future self, or his imaginary friend to relieve the stress and depression. Charlie makes new friends during his freshman year named Sam and Patrick, who are in their senior year in high school but it is too bad that they are leaving high school soon, and Charlie has to be alone. Luckily, Charlie has made a bond with his English teacher who Charlie calls Bill, which Bill is like a second father and mentor to Charlie. (This is a spoiler alert of the story, but to the people reading my scholarship, I'm sorry you have to see me write spoilers of this story, but I totally recommend reading this story if you can relate). He gives really good advice to Charlie, which Charlie confides in him. Charlie is also navigating through his teenage life and his adolescence life and attempts to deal with poignant questions spurred by his interactions with both his friends and family. I think this movie has had a great impact on my life because I can relate to what Charlie is going through such as being a shy and introverted person, especially in high school. As I started entering high school, it was a new chapter for me and seeing a lot of people in the hallway was tough since I didn't know most people from where I lived, but luckily throughout my sophomore and junior year, I started making new friends just like how Charlie started to get more comfortable with himself and started to make new friends and started stepping out of his comfort zone as the start of his sophomore year. Life is too short to be a wallflower but always live life or else you will miss the chance and regretting to not participate enough in high school and making new friends.
    Disney Super Fan Scholarship
My favorite thing about Disney is the movies and the rides. I've been to Disneyland when I was little, and I've been on the rides, such as "It's a Small World," with my parents. In that ride, you see a lot of different characters and singing children singing, "It's a small world after all!" It was a really fun ride, and Disney means a new adventure to me, finding my own happily ever after. Disney is like your own adventure where you can go on any ride, visit any place, or eat any food. That's why Disney's motto is "The happiest place on Earth!" Disneyland is also the perfect escape where you can leave all the stress of the real world behind as you enter the gates of Disney. My favorite thing in Disneyland is also meeting Mickey Mouse and other Disney characters like Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty, Pocahontas, etc. It's so cool to meet those characters, but the lines are so long, which is my least favorite part of Disneyland. However, it is worth waiting in the long lines because sometimes they move quickly. I also love taking selfies with the characters when I meet them because when I look back at those pictures on my phone, they bring back loving and great memories I made at Disney. My favorite Disney movie is "Tangled" because I love Rapunzel and her crazy, happy, fun energy when she feels free after getting out of her tower, even though Mother Gothel was evil and rude to Rapunzel. Flynn Rider is also my favorite character in "Tangled" because he showed Rapunzel how to have fun and even took her to see the floating lanterns, which is my favorite scene in the movie. The lanterns are so beautiful, lighting up the night sky, and Rapunzel looks amazing with her braids adorned with flowers. I'm also glad that in the movie "Tangled," Rapunzel got to reunite with her parents after being kidnapped by Mother Gothel when she was a baby. I think "Tangled" relates to me because the movie is about having fun and pursuing your dreams, just like Rapunzel wanted to see the floating lanterns, and she did. She got what she wanted, just like me and everyone else. We all have big dreams, like wishing I can visit Disney again, just like when I was little. However, right now, Disney is so expensive. I hope to go in the future.
    Maggie's Way- International Woman’s Scholarship
I can relate to Maggie's challenges, aside from both of us having the same first name. Maggie never gives up and strives to accomplish her dreams without ever giving up. Like Maggie, I always have a plan for my future as well. I am planning to pursue business and marketing, which involves helping advertise companies and convincing people to buy products from different companies, for example. Since I was born in the United States and not an immigrant like Maggie, I can still understand what she is going through. Maggie always cares about school and works hard, just like what I'm doing right now. Both Maggie and I strive and are determined to become experts in anything we put our minds to. My parents always tell me that I can't become good at something right away; I must work hard to earn it and understand what I'm learning in school to apply it in the real world. Maggie knows that the United States is a fresh start for her and that America has amazing dreams for people with goals and accomplishments. Again, Business and marketing are my passion because I love seeing how companies and ads function in the business world. It also teaches me to be confident, come up with great ideas such as persuading people and always save money. Money is important, but it's easy to get scammed and have it taken away. Since I took Web Design in my junior year, I will utilize the skills I learned to design logos and websites for marketing and the business world. Maggie is also an amazing person, just like I am. She is bright and intelligent, just like me and everyone else. Everyone has their smarts and achieves success in various ways. Even though I'm currently a junior in high school, I am preparing for my senior year by applying for many scholarships until I get accepted into college. I have already started applying to Montclair State University early and ensuring that I continue to earn As and first honors in the class. Additionally, I am volunteering in my community and getting involved in extracurricular activities at my school, such as the Honor Society. I hope that these efforts will lead to more scholarship opportunities and a promising future. Just like Maggie, I am determined to achieve my dreams and have a bright future as I grow older. I
    Elevate Women in Technology Scholarship
Virtual reality inspires me in a way that technology can make the world a better place by enhancing education for myself and everyone else. When kids in school use virtual reality, it can revolutionize education by allowing them to explore virtual environments, such as historical sites and scientific simulations. Virtual reality has the power to foster empathy and understanding by enabling users to step into someone else's shoes, simulating experiences that help people comprehend different perspectives and challenges. This can help reduce social issues, promote inclusivity, and challenge prejudices. Virtual reality also offers entertainment experiences that allow people to explore the virtual world, play games, and uniquely watch movies. I remember during quarantine while watching something on TikTok, I came across a video of a parent using virtual reality to let their kids experience Disneyland since they couldn't go due to the pandemic. It was a cool and amazing sight. I believe this technology can benefit not only me but also everyone else, as it creates the feeling of being in a desired place, even if physically unable to be there. Moreover, virtual reality can contribute to mental health conditions, such as PTSD and anxiety. It provides architects, engineers, and designers with opportunities to create and visualize complex structures or products in a virtual space. This reduces costs, streamlines design processes, enables efficient collaboration, and identifies potential construction issues. In conclusion, I hope that virtual reality will be used more widely in the future, as it holds tremendous potential to improve various aspects of our lives.

I plan to make a positive impact on the world by continuing to volunteer in my local community and continuing to help people, especially my neighbors when they ask for help. Through volunteering my time at local food pantries, churches, and community organizations, I have discovered a passion for "I plan to make a positive impact on the world by continuing to volunteer in my local community and help people, especially my neighbors when they ask for assistance. Through volunteering my time at local food pantries, churches, and community organizations, I have discovered a passion for helping others that has had a positive impact on both the world and myself. Helping others demonstrates my gratitude and kindness towards people and myself. Volunteering also provides an opportunity to gain experience and interact with different individuals. When I was younger, I used to be antisocial and shy, which affected my self-esteem and confidence. My parents always encouraged me to be confident and maintain good posture, as slouching while looking at screens or walking with a slouched back can be detrimental to both physical well-being and self-esteem. As I grew older, I realized the wisdom in their advice. That's when I began volunteering, not only to gain work and job experience for college but also to understand the value of hard work and the importance of contributing to society. Time seems to fly by when I volunteer and help others, and it is undoubtedly worth it. Interacting with people as a volunteer has boosted my confidence, and my social skills have significantly improved. The organizers and many others I have worked with in community organizations have made me feel comfortable and welcomed. This further illustrates how helping others can enhance self-esteem and motivation. Volunteering and helping others are my favorite things to do because they make a positive impact on my community, raise funds for charities, and assist those in need. I am fortunate to have a home, electronic devices, clothes, and, most importantly, a family. However, I am aware that many people are not as lucky, which has fueled my desire to help. This demonstrates my caring nature, and volunteering brings me immense happiness. Moreover, when my friends also volunteer alongside me, it eliminates any feelings of loneliness and provides a sense of comfort, similar to the support I receive from the people who assign me tasks as a volunteer. I aspire to continue volunteering, helping more people in the future, and remaining committed to my mission. Lastly, as I pursue a business career, I can allocate some of the money I earn for personal savings and use the remaining funds to support volunteering efforts for those in need."
    Book Lovers Scholarship
There are a lot of books that I've read before, but if I had to pick one book, I would let people read Smile by Raina Telgemeier. I loved that book ever since Middle School and brings back great memories. Smile is talking about what Raina's life was like during Middle School such as fitting in, dental procedures such as braces, her transition as a teenager from Middle to High School, and most importantly, puberty. When Raina tried to fit in High and Middle School, she shouldn't do that because fitting in is a waste of time and she should be herself, no matter what and should focus on school and not get involved in drama. I didn't understand what high school was when I was still a middle schooler reading this book, but I realize when Raina was still hanging out with her friends in the story, she realizes that none of her friends aren't as they are used to be just like what I dealt with right now as a junior in High School as I look back thinking about how my younger self reading this book. Just like Raina, I felt upset when losing my friends and for humiliating and making me embarrassed, I did what Raina did, making new friends. I didn't fall flat on the pavement just like Raina did, but I went through a dental procedure such as getting braces, rubber bands, and wearing all these weird tools to get my teeth straight and to have a beautiful smile. Based on what I said in this essay, I definitely can relate to what Raina is going through and I feel like the author is especially encouraging us, me, to hopefully relate and understand what she went through and what it was like in Raina and the author's shoes since this book relates to her own life. Raina also had to deal with being an older sibling to her younger sister just like me as the oldest sibling in my family dealing with a younger brother. At the same time, people like me should love their younger siblings and treat them the way you want them to be treated.

I plan to make a positive impact on the world by continuing to volunteer in my local community and continuing to help people, especially my neighbors when they ask for help. Through volunteering my time at local food pantries, churches, and community organizations, I have discovered a passion for helping others which made a positive impact on the world and for myself. Helping others shows me my gratitude and kindness for other people and myself. Volunteering also helps to see what it is like and getting the experience and interacting with people is like. I used to be anti-social/shy when I was little which made my self-esteem and confidence low. My parents always tell me to be confident and to not slouch and to always have a good posture since slouching when looking at screens and walking with a slouched back is not good for you and is bad for self-esteem. As I got older, I realized that my parents were right. I listened to what they said and that is when I started volunteering since I want to go to college and get work and job experience since volunteering services don't pay you. But it is not really about money, it is about understanding what working is like and realizing how important and hard-working work is. Time can also fly by too as a volunteer and by helping others which is worth it. Based on what I said about interacting with people when working as a volunteer in a volunteer service, it helped boosted my confidence and my social skills with other people have been improving. Most of the people such as the organizers made me feel comfortable and welcome being a volunteer in community organizations, etc. Again, this shows that helping others can help boost your self esteem and motivation. Volunteering and helping others is my favorite thing to do since it helps with my community and raises a lot of money and goes through charity and for people in need. Many people aren't that lucky like me having a home, electronic devices, clothes, and most importantly, a family which made me upset and want to help people. Again, this shows that I am a caring person and volunteering also makes me happy especially hanging out with my friends too if they are volunteering in the same place and at the same time as me. They also don't make me feel lonely and feel comfortable too just like the people who helped and gave me a job to do as a volunteer. I hope to volunteer and help more people in the future and continue doing what I need to do.

Math is very important because it Math is very important in life and help boosts my critical thinking and especially common sense in life. It provides tools for quantifying and measuring phenomena, making sense of data, and identifying patterns and relationships. From calculating distances and quantities to modeling natural phenomena, math helps us make sense of the physical and abstract aspects of our world. Math helps me in other subjects such as Science/STEM. For example, in environmental science, I learned how to calculate electricity and its usage by its formulas and directions. Math can also helps us pay our taxes, electricity bills, and water bills. Math can help with numerous career opportunities such as engineering, science, finance, research, etc. I love learning Math because it challenges me and even improves my spatial visualization and also challenges my brain. Right now, I'm learning about Algebra in Math which is very easy for me because I love to study, work hard, and do practice problems whenever I have a test or quiz coming up. It helps boost my confidence and shows my teacher and my classmates that I study or have a good memory remembering what algebraic formula I'm solving such as systems of equations, and polynomials. Polynomials are like solving a one-step equation and finding the same variable in a math problem and either adding, subtracting, multiplying, or dividing those by the same variable. It can hard to classify whether if it is a monomial, binomial, trinomial based on the number of terms and especially degrees such as linear, constant, quadratic, cubic, quartic, etc. Sometimes, math is also to make sure to not rush and to take your time and check to see if you did the problem wrong to make sure that you or the other person followed the formula correctly. Math to me is like an accomplishment when it comes to mastering mathematical concepts and techniques and makes me learn something new every day especially when it comes to making mistakes on a math problem. As I realized I made a mistake when studying for a math quiz, I realized that I shouldn't make that mistake when taking the actual math quiz. My mom always reminds me when I'm studying for a math quiz or whether she checks to see if I did the math problem correctly. Even though I also learn math formulas such as trigonometry and mean, median, and mode, math is still the foundation of life and school whether we need it to solve real-world issues and help the economy/stock market, for example.
Colby R. Eggleston and Kyla Lee Entrepreneurship Award
This business would contribute to the general welfare of your local community through community engagement by bringing people from my community together which brings a sense of connection and help create relationships and friendships with others. As a personalized event planner, I can also support charitable and non-profitable organizations such as the St. Jude Research Hospital to help kids fight childhood diseases such as cancer, leukemia, etc. I would promote that charitable / non-profitable organization because it would help the children and the children's family and friends.
    Learner Math Lover Scholarship
I love math because Math is very important in life and help boosts my critical thinking and especially common sense in life. Math can be also very tricky and hard at first, but my mom sometimes teaches me how to do math problems whenever I'm having trouble in math class. After realizing how my mom taught me how to do math problems such as Algebra with equations, word problems, solving the systems of equations, etc, I realize that Math can be easy but only if I practice, persevere, and work hard, then I can be good and great at Math. Math is amazing and teaches me how to not get robbed with my own money in the real world and to also be careful with scammers and when to know to pay to cashiers in stores that I go to. Math can also teach me how to problem solve especially in the real world and also helps me through the business and marketing world which is also perfect for me since I am pursuing that major in college. It teaches us how to break down complex situations into manageable parts, identify relevant information, and determine what is missing. This skill is valuable in various contexts, from diagnosing issues in a production process to recognizing trends in financial data. It also gives us the ability and interpret numerical information and is used in different majors such as engineering, etc.
STAR Scholarship - Students Taking Alternative Routes
The career path I'm interested in pursuing isBusiness and Marketing and I see this changing my life trajectory by understanding and having skills in the business world such as human resources, marketing, entrepreneurship, etc. Skills such as transferable skills can also help in the business world such as problem-solving, communication, teamwork, and leadership when also making presentations and convincing other people such as impressing my bosses by explaining why people should buy this product and it depends on who are we sponsoring and what other company and store that we are also sponsoring too. Working in business management requires also time management skills such as making a presentation and handing it to my boss on time, just like in school how I do my homework every day and let the teacher check and hand in the work to the teacher so that she or he can grade it. I am sometimes also interested to see how much advertising people watch and see every day to help boost items and how much money is made from each store based on marketing. Sometimes, it is also important to come up with ideas to help boost the company when it comes to business. It is also better not to overthink the question when it comes to doing work in Business. I am pretty confident that I chose this major that I'm going to use shortly and want to learn about the business world just like what my parents are doing right now. The Business and Marketing world also helped me to get a chance to interact with other people from different companies and different stores. Sometimes, I have to be careful too because I don't know if they are going to scam or going to steal my work. The business also involves me understanding more challenging and complicated math such as precalculus and calculus, for example. Even though my parents say it is easy, I'm going to try my best in college to achieve precalculus and calculus. I also hope to apply these skills in the business world to help me understand the statistics and graphs of the business world. I also see that when my parents work, their work looks complicated and they make it look easy as my parents explain how they work in the business world/marketing world. I will also and I'm not sure about this, but to use web design in the marketing/advertising world to help make logos and edit great designs in digital marketing, for example. I hope to accomplish and understand and do more research on marketing and the business world to help further understand to pursue my college major in Business and Marketing.
    McClendon Leadership Award
Leadership is leading, participating, and taking responsibility for our actions. As a junior, I became a peer mentor to freshmen in my school. I remembered when I was a freshman, I was lost and was having a hard time doing virtual full-time. Fortunately, I had a peer mentor who helped me through the difficult time and gave me suggestions. Now I want to give back and help others. Participating in the peer mentoring program was an interesting experience, and I also learned how to interact with other people and make new friends. As an introvert, making friends is always a struggle for me. By participating in this peer mentoring program as a mentor, I have to force myself to step out of my comfort zone and help others. I am hoping to be a peer mentor during my senior year so that it hopefully improves more of my confidence and socializes with other people younger or in the same grade as me. In addition, I belong to the Chinatown Community Young Lions Club. My dad grew up in Chinatown and he learned Chinese culture through this club. During the Chinese lunar new year, he would perform a lion dance and parade through Chinatown. My dad started to bring me to this club when I was young and hoped that I would learn more about Chinese culture and tradition. Now I think it’s my turn to give back and start mentoring and teaching kids about Chinese culture and tradition in the Chinese Community Young Lions Club. Plus, it is important to talk more about my culture and tradition to get an idea of how to contribute to and celebrate more Chinese New Year. In addition, I helped organize and lead the effort to fundraise for the National Art Honor Society by creating and selling Christmas cards. I was grateful for this opportunity and helped to raise money for getting new art supplies for the school art program. As part of leadership when taking responsibility for our actions, it is always telling us to be honest with each other, especially friends and family. My parents always tells us to never lie to each other and especially to other people since it is a bad habit for certain people to others. I love being a leader and enjoying leadership because in conclusion, it gives you independence and turns you into a mature, extrovert person and that is what I'm supposed to be in the future. I regret sometimes being an introvert because I don't have that much friends then I used to be back in elementary and middle school. My parents are always right that I should step out of my comfort zone so that I can try being more an extrovert in the real world. It is also much better than being on your electronic devices all day too.
    Bright Lights Scholarship
My dream version /plan for the future for my future self is to continue my education in college such as Montclair State University by majoring in Business and Marketing.
    Youth Equine Service Scholarship
Through volunteering my time at local food pantries, churches, and community organizations, I have discovered a passion for helping others. Time can also fly by too as a volunteer. Based on what I said about interacting with people when working as a volunteer in a volunteer service, it helped boosted my confidence and my social skills with other people have been improving. Most of the people such as the organizers made me feel comfortable and welcome being a volunteer in community organizations, etc. I sometimes have trust issues with people since people now these days aren't as nice as they seem to be. But once you get to know them, you realize that you shouldn't assume people because that's not right. Volunteering is my favorite thing to do since it helps with my community and raises a lot of money and goes through charity and for people in need. Many people aren't that lucky like me having a home, electronic devices, clothes, and most importantly, a family which made me upset and want to help people. Again, this shows that I am a carrying person and volunteering also makes me happy especially hanging out with my friends too if they are volunteering in the same place and at the same time as me. They also don't make me feel lonely and feel comfortable too just like the people who helped and gave me a job to do as a volunteer. I hope to volunteer more in the future and continue doing what I need to do.

    Taylor Swift ‘1989’ Fan Scholarship
My favorite song on Taylor Swift's 1989 album is Shake It Off by Taylor Swift because that song always makes me dance and makes me sing along to her songs. Most of her songs are amazing but I have other favorite songs by Taylor Swift such as Bad Blood because whenever I think about this song, this song makes me confident and I always watch edits on Youtube which makes me think about this song based on how confident the characters are on tv show edits such as Stranger Things, etc. Most of Taylor Swift's song from the 1989 album makes me confident and happier because it shows that Taylor Swift's songs are amazing and whenever you feel sad, it boosts your positivity and your mood. Welcome to New York by Taylor Swift is also a good song too because the first time I heard it when watching The Secret Life of Pets, it gives good vibes and made me imagine being in New York again walking through the streets and watching the view of Times Square, Madison Square Garden, and exploring different streets and subways around New York. It gives people a perspective about what being in a new place is like, just like how Taylor Swift imagined going to New York. I've been to New York and experienced the same thing as Taylor Swift, but I believe that Taylor Swift can go to New York someday. Blank Space by Taylor Swift is also a great song too just like her music video too because she is a great singer and the words and the beat of the music in her song are still amazing. I didn't understand what Taylor Swift's songs were at that time since I was little when I loved Taylor Swift's songs, but now I realized most of Taylor Swift's songs are about relationships, breakups, and friendships happening in Taylor Swift's life. Again, most of Taylor Swift's songs are great, but it is hard choosing Taylor Swift's songs from 1989 since she makes great songs and puts dedication to her songs too. I also loved singing and remembering the lyrics to most of my favorite Taylor Swift songs but what's funny is that in the blank space song by Taylor Swift, I thought she meant got a list of Starbucks lovers, which is wrong. It is actually got a list of crossed ex-lovers or something like that. In conclusion, Taylor Swift's songs are amazing and I hope she makes more great songs in the future.
    Michael Rudometkin Memorial Scholarship
I embody selflessness by volunteering and helping my community such as volunteering at a local church and food pantries. I particularly enjoy working at the local food pantries because it allows me to interact with a diverse range of people. Witnessing the impact of my contributions on those in need brings me immense joy. During my volunteering at a local church, I helped organize and sort food and toys for people in need and just like the food pantries, it also brings me immense joy and puts a smile on people's faces. I love volunteering just like Michael and I hope to volunteer more in the future which also helps me to get into honor societies such as the National Honor Society for example. I also embody selflessness in different kinds of ways such as helping my younger brother. As the oldest in the family, I set a great example for my brother and always listen to him whenever he needs me. I always give him great advice whenever he is struggling with a problem or whenever he feels upset. I always try my best to make him happy and make him feel comfortable when he needs me and he knows that me and him always got each other. Family always comes first then others which I appreciate and always will. As a person, I also help my friends too by understanding and putting their needs first before them such as helping them and understanding their feelings and perspectives whatever they are going through such as loss, etc. I know that my friends are the nicest person and that they always do the same thing as me and they will always stick up for me when needed. I love giving advices and letting my friends talk to me whenever needed. After all, it helps express how they feel instead of letting their anger out to someone because it shows disrespect and rudeness. Lastly, this shows that I am grateful for everything in life, especially volunteering since I started at the beginning of my junior year. I know that high school and time is going so fast so that is why I try to make and doing everything the best I can until college. I don't know where the path will take me, but I know that I am a selflessness person who always puts others before themselves and that is the type of person I am.
