My current career interests lie in conservation and ecology. I am passionate about environmentalism and have already participated in animal conservation efforts with Barrington High School's Dodo Club and wetland conservation efforts. In the future, I would love to work with the United Nations. I studied their goals for sustainable development in high school and became inspired to help them achieve their objectives. I am particularly interested in their 15th goal which relates to reforestation and resertification. I would also love to work internationaly, potentially in France or Canada. Right now I am attending the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, where I am pursuing a bachelor's degree in Integrative Biology, as well as a minor in French. Some of my goals for college include participating in a study abroad experience (particularly in France), gaining undergraduate research opprotunities, and pursing an internship relating to conservation. As for my current involvement at my university, I am a member of the Society of Wetland Scientists North Central Chapter and am part of the professional development biology fraternity Beta Psi Omega. I also volunteer with organizations on campus such as VIP and Lights Out. Other than that, some of my hobbies include dancing ballet, gardening, reading, and cooking.
