Where do I begin. I cherish my upbringing being raised by several Tita's, Lola in the Philippines before migrating to Oakland California. Strong Filipino Women who survived the horrific terror of WWII, devout daughters of God who established traditional values and beliefs, was my force field and my torch that I carry in my quest to re-enter college. Then there is my Father, the very thought of him brings me to tears longing to hold his hand and hear his voice and giggle. He recognized a great need for provisions for those who survived the typhoons that hit the Philippine Islands in the 70's. He rallied help from church families to ship food, clothing, medicine to those in need. My Dad organized a Christian youth organization "Recollections in Christianity" to help parents raise wayward kids back to their families and survive the hood streets. My family lived selflessly to help relatives gain citizenship to the US for a better life. I had tremendous role models who emulated a servants heart. My desire to represent my Filipino heritage in my community, church and daily life in a manner to create awareness of our caring culture for positive change is my calling. As a wife and mother, I had to redefine my independent lifestyle to nurture, provide, sacrifice, love unconditionally. As a Filipino employee, I had to find balance to fulfill my contract with employer with efficiency, excellence, grace and pride. As a community leader, I had to recognize the needs and provide solution and rally help from others. Now, as a wife for 35 years, mother to 2 adult brilliant college graduates, mother-in-law to a tremendous gifted daughter-in-aloha and Lola to the most adorable grandson, I'm refining my "tomorrow days" to re-enter college after 40 years to bring a brighter future for my legacy and community. At home, office, church, courtroom I represent my Heavenly Father God. He placed me in a Filipino family to make a difference, to represent His goodness, kindness and mercy. That's my why, to better myself to better this world.
