My green I see my world as the color green, “emerald green” to be exact. This dark distinctive green is my absolute favorite. Because it symbolizes growth and new beginnings. It also symbolizes Daelyn. Even if you didn't know Daelyn, he had a spark. He had a smile you could point out from a far and had a laugh that would make you want to laugh even harder. Daelyn made me wanna be a better version of myself. Daeyln was someone you could count on for anything, I could always depend on him. He was my best friend. He recently passed away due to a brain aneurysm. This altered how I perceived my surroundings. I didn't see the world as the perfect "emerald green" but jet black. I started to withdraw from society. I stopped returning texts, I stopped picking up the phone, I stopped everything. I felt that junior year was by far my worst year. It seems as though when his life ended, so did mine. It was difficult for me to even get out of bed, constantly hearing things like "you'll be fine" and "God did this for a reason." It made me hate my world. From the countless cries I thought ¨why me¨ why have I experienced such heartache?" His death had a profound impact on my life. It made me uninterested in everything, including school and my extracurricular activities. Even though his passing will affect me forever, it will also have an effect on the woman I will become. I learned that this obstacle will not define me in a negative way but yet from a positive perspective. No one said dealing with grief would be easy. It took me months to find that bit of spark I had when Daelyn was around. After the incident, I realized I needed to improve for myself and for Daelyn. I've started socializing more and going out with friends. I began to envision my life as that ideal shade of "emerald green." My interest in lessons has increased, and my grades have significantly improved. Starting off in the middle semester with low A´s to gradually getting high A´s. When I think back on all the challenges I had, I'm grateful I went through them because they molded me into the person I am now. Even though I might still cry occasionally, I know he's proud of the person I've become. He made me realize to cherish each moment we shared, from the jokes to the late-night phone conversations, as I look back on our past. Even though he's gone I try my best to be strong for him and be that better version of myself that he always pushed me to be. Daelyn was a remarkable individual who touched the lives of many before he passed away.Daelyn was a dedicated student who excelled academically and strived for excellence in everything he pursued. He was frequently praised by his teachers for his hard work and determination, and he was always eager to learn and grow. Daelyn's dedication to his education was truly admirable, and his commitment to self-improvement served as an inspiration to his peers. Daelyn was also an avid athlete who participated in football sports and other physical activities. He valued the importance of staying active and healthy, and he encouraged others to do the same. His passion for sports was infectious, and he was a natural leader on the field, inspiring his teammates with his determination and drive to succeed. Daelyn was known for his sense of humor and infectious personality. He had a unique ability to lighten the mood and bring smiles to those around him, even in the darkest of times. Moreover, Daelyn was a devoted son, brother, and friend who cherished his relationships with those closest to him. These extracurriculars helped me to develop various perspectives about life that have shaped me into the individual I am today. These elements, combined with my passion for leadership and involvement in various activities, have equipped me with the necessary tools to make a significant impact both in and out of the classroom. From a young age, I have taken on leadership roles within my school, community, and family. Whether it was organizing school events, leading community service projects, or taking charge within my family, I have learned the importance of effective communication, decision-making, and problem-solving.
