Upon graduating from high school, never did I imagine I would enter the worlds greatest Air Force and serve 6 beautiful years to this country. Ups and downs, long days, new friendships, loss of friends, and a new lookout on life have changed me into the woman and mother that I am today.
Looking back on all the things that I have been through, I wouldn't change them for the world. I joined the United States Air Force in 2015, completed basic training in march 2015, and then headed off to Italy as a 19 year old. I was a military police officer guarding the most important assets to our military. Adjusting to a foreign country and being responsible for the lives of all the citizens at home was a huge reality check and an honor that no one can imagine. Being a 4'10, 105lb woman i had to make myself known and show that size did not matter and I was able to do that with determination and hard work. I served two wonderful years filled with new skills and new friendships. Some of those friendships were cut short due to deployments and unforeseen circumstances.
Finishing my two year journey in Italy I then returned to the United States to serve another four years. These four years were absolutely incredible. I rucked long hours in the hot desert of El Paso, Texas with guns as big as I was. I was lucky enough to have guarded President Donald Trumps plane in 2017 three times, ensuring the protection of our President. I then completed a grueling three week course to be a Phoenix Raven and guard assets as an in flight security officer. I was then lucky enough to attend a Marine course for non-lethal weapons training for two weeks and come out an instructor for my fellow Airmen. I was promoted to Staff Sergeant and finished off six years of service making sure my airmen were taken care of. During these four years I was awarded with coins for dedication to my profession. I was also noticed multiple times for my perfect scores on my yearly PT tests.
After I honorably left the Air Force it was a hard transition into the real world. I immediately started working two jobs making sure I did not lose my work ethic. Dealing with disability and mental health issues the transition was not seamless. Hard times became of this but I was able to prevail. I live a beautiful and quiet life in Florida with my 11 month old and my fiancée. I am currently going on to my second year of schooling for Graphic Design. My goal is to complete a Bachelors and start my career as a Graphic Designer.
I have a long to go but my past life experience has given me the tools to push forward and become the designer I would love to be while being the best mom and wife I can be for my family.
