Bio

My life goal is to become a nurse practitioner and start a nonprofit organization to help children who are victims of sexual abuse. I have many goals along the way, such as being a part of a program such as Red Cross. I believe no matter how small the step, if it is in the right direction it is progress. Furthermore, I hope to change many lives for the better by becoming the best version of myself through a combination of education, motivation, life experience, and perseverance.

At first, with school just starting and officially accepting student loans, I have been more financially stressed than ever before. However, instead of letting my anxiety get the better of me and living with this stress until I graduate and repay this money, I decided to be proactive and make a plan of repayment. Most people get overwhelmed by the debt they are in or about to take on and instead of facing the problem they ignore it. This can cause poor financial security. In my opinion, the best way to handle debt is to compare risk versus reward and then make a plan and budget to keep yourself in good standing financially. This will not only relieve stress and anxiety but will also give you a realistic idea of what you can and cannot afford. I have planned to go to school for about two years now. I have savings dedicated to paying off my debt that I will add to throughout my program through working full time. By the time I graduate, I should have about 40% of my debt saved that I will be able to pay off instantly. I will then set up a payment plan with the goal of paying off the debt in the shortest amount of time possible while continuing to afford my basic needs and current debt load. This should take me approximately three years. Life can be chaotic and it is beneficial to be flexible therefore I have a plan B if plan A fails. If I am unable to continue to work during school I have decided to use my educational savings to pay as I go and take out only what I need to earn my degree. I will only earn an associate's Degree at first and wait until I can find a job that will pay for my bachelor's to continue to pursue my ultimate goal of a Bachelor of Nursing. Although it will take longer to achieve my goals it will be worth staying financially stable. I believe it is most important to pay your current debt off as much as possible before incurring more. It is not a perfect plan, nor is it a guarantee that life will allow it to come to fruition; however, It not only gives me peace of mind, but it also gives me a rough draft of what needs changing when the time comes. I hope to earn as many scholarships as possible to make the repayment process even more feasible.
