I have struggled with depression, anxiety and OCD for several years. I have been hospitalized once for it. I was there for a week. While in the facility they helped me during classes to use coping strategies like journaling and breathing techniques to calm anxious thoughts. I do not always realize I am having OCD behaviors unless others tell me, because it just feels normal to me to worry about what I’m worried about and read the Bible passages over and over again to calm my worries. Getting closer to my family has helped. My mom divulged she struggles with anxiety and depression too and it helps to know I’m bit alone in that. Currently I’m very interested in Asian languages. I taught myself Japanese and to play keyboard as well. I’m still unsure what I want to do for the rest of my life but if I can find something that Incorporates one of both of those things I will be ecstatic.
