Bio
I am trying to achieve my personal goal of becoming a Counselor. I have had many family members who have struggled with mental health. I would like to be able to help people in ways that the average person may not. I want to become a person that has a positive influence on others' lives. That is why I wish to be a Counselor. I love to see people smile and will not stop pursuing my dreams until I achieve this personal goal.

Core values help us push through our difficulties in life. Believing in things like the prosperity of the world and perseverance help us through troubles caused by others when working to help our community. I believe most in selflessness, trust in others, cooperation, and most importantly dedication to getting it done. All of these are the many foundations of working with others to help improve the community or environment we are in. Starting with selflessness first, you must not only think of yourself but rather the others around you to help them. If you are selfish you wouldn’t aspire to help others or to improve anything unrelated to yourself. That is something I never wish to do. Secondly, have trust in others, to have trust in others you must form healthy relationships with the people you work with. With these healthy relationships comes trust within your environment. I chose to make these healthy relationships to develop trust within the groups I work with. When I do not have trust in a group I tend to feel discouraged and don’t feel as happy about what I am doing to help others. Thirdly, cooperation is something very important to developing healthy trust worthing relationships. Working well with others is certainly a life skill that you need to have. If you don’t work well with others this will normally automatically discourage you from wanting to volunteer with others. This discouragement causes many people to steer clear of the volunteering community. For me, I like to stay away from this discouragement and look to work with trustworthy others at any opportunity I can get. This helps build my cooperation skills and to develop selflessness and trust as well. Lastly, having the dedication to get something done is truly one of the most important steps to helping your community through volunteering. Dedication can be hard to keep at most times. You must keep your head up high and push through whatever challenges come your way so that you can get what matters most to you done. I have struggled a lot with my motivation throughout the years after being diagnosed with anxiety and depression. But now, this pushes me even harder to help people that are going through the same things as me every day. Without these four things, I would have never learned the joy of helping others in the world. They are very important and without these core values, I would not be the same person I am today.

To improve the functions of every community in America, we must start to work harder toward helping mental health. After college, I plan to become a psychologist who majorly works on mental health. My true passions in life are helping others and making music. I have experienced many mental health problems with myself and others around me. It truly is a problem that we need to dive into deeper. Even in 2023, we lack talk therapists and people who understand mental health problems. It is looked at negatively, and many people won't ever even try to get help due to the negative stigmatism around it. I want to help with this. Even if my words don’t reach many people, I at least want them to reach one person. If I can help at least one person defeat this stereotype then many others will also follow that one person and seek help from others. There are also beliefs when listening to music that the type of music you listen to can affect your mental health as well. The more gloomy and pessimistic music you listen to with harsh words the more likely you are to make your mental health worse. It fills your head with more negative thoughts which are the song lyrics you are singing along to. To defeat these thoughts I would recommend that people listen to lighter happy songs with more positive lyrics. This overall will help many people improve their current mental health. I have had a personal talk with my therapist about this and personally, this has helped improve my mental state along with my mood and the way I communicate with others. From my experience, I have learned that the workers at mental institutes do not do the same thing for you as talk therapists would. They work to keep you safe and from harming yourself or others. Contrary to that, normal talk therapists work with you on coping skills, life skills, working through emotions, and helping subsidize whatever you are experiencing. This is how I plan to help my community. I plan to communicate with the people, teach them the skills necessary to function even with these mental health problems and make them feel better overall. I plan to fully help with mental health within my community when I finish college. I am willing to learn and experience firsthand what it is like to deal with people with all mental health problems.
