Bio

As an aspiring student, I am committed to pursuing academic excellence and making a meaningful impact in my community. I sparked my passion for music when I began learning the piano. I didn't take an interest in music, but I saw my sister receive a shiny, trophy at one of her piano recitals, I told my mom I wanted one too, so she signed me up for piano lessons. My initial desire to earn that trophy kickstarted my musical journey, and I remained dedicated to piano for the next 4-5 years. Throughout my academic career, I've challenged myself to push beyond my comfort zone and explore new avenues of learning. Whether learning about entrepreneurship, performing at piano recitals, or engaging in community service initiatives, I have always sought to broaden my horizons and develop a well-rounded skill set. One of my proudest achievements was my winter percussion group winning 3rd place out of 13 schools at the NCPA championships. This experience taught me valuable lessons about teamwork, learning to persevere through challenging times, and how much practice and hard work can pay off to reach your goals. In addition to my academic pursuits, I love giving back to my community. I volunteer with my school's Interact club and UNICEF club and have seen firsthand the positive impact individuals can have when they come together to address important social issues. Receiving these scholarships would not only alleviate financial burdens but also provide me with the resources and support necessary to continue my academic journey with confidence and determination.

      Our Destiny Our Future Scholarship
They say that we have a 1 in 400 trillion chance of being born. My life is short, so I want to make a positive impact in the world by becoming a successful entrepreneur and use my money to donate to UNICEF. I used to take the things I have in my life for granted, whether it's having clean water, wearing socks, or having food on my plate. I participated in my school's UNICEF club, and the social issues they talked about really shocked me. The most memorable topic that stuck with me was the amount of people who don't have access to clean, drinkable water. I felt guilty when I took the resources I have for granted, when children in Africa drink dirty water filled with bacteria. I want to be able to provide for these children, but what broke my heart the most was that these children didn't have a choice. They never chose to be born in the conditions they are in, they deserve to have at least the bare essentials to live a long, healthy life, including something as simple as drinkable water, and yet they never complain. I believe that my life's purpose is to help others, when I become successful, I want to use my wealth towards the 411 million people in Africa who don't have access to clean water. Homeless people are freezing during the cold winters and need thick jackets in order to stay warm. Some homeless people didn't choose to be in the condition they're in, maybe some have sacrificed everything to start a business and failed miserably. Every human being deserves the essentials to live a healthy life, so I would also donate towards homeless charities who are able to provide these people the resources they need in order to survive. My entrepreneurial ambitions are not only driven by personal success, but to make a meaningful impact in other people's lives, whether it's providing clean water to children in Africa, or donating to charities who provide resources to homeless communities. I believe that I can make a positive impact in my community and with my being an entrepreneur would allow me to be the hand that reaches out to those in need. I want to make a positive influence and inspire others to help those in need, if every person on earth did a good deed everyday, it could change the world.
      Ultimate K-Pop Stan Scholarship
BTS paved the way for Koreans and K-pop. My mom was born in South Korea and moved to the US when she was 12. When she attended school, she was made fun of by her looks. The girls who looked like dolls made fun of people with slanted eyes and pale skin and my mom was ashamed of how she looked. Today, people pay so much money for skincare, makeup, and facials, just to get that Korean glass skin. Those Barbie-looking girls who used to tease Koreans for how they looked now pay thousands of dollars to get that glass-skin look. K-pop has become huge in the US and people pay thousands, if not, millions of dollars on albums, posters, concert tickets, and merch from these K-pop groups. It was not always like this thought, when BTS debuted back on June 13, 2013, K-pop was not popular and was often made fun of. I'm ashamed to say this but I was one of those people. I thought it was weird how these Korean men would put on so much makeup and they end up looking like ghosts. One day I came across the Jimmy Fallon show on YouTube and came across this video "BTS performs ON in Grand Central". I clicked on it and my jaw dropped for the entire video. Their synchronization was amazing! And the way they danced was so powerful and it was not only was their dancing, but their vocalists were phenomenal! I can't believe I didn't get into them sooner. I looked them up later online and found out they were huge! To this day BTS has broken so many records and has made their mark in Western pop culture as well. They have become what my mom calls them this generation's "The Beatles". They made K-pop huge in the US and have now allowed other K-pop groups to debut and spread their Korean culture all over the world. The thing about BTS that made them huge is not just their singing, dancing, and performance, but they are a kind, humble, loving, and caring group of people and their main priority is their fans. They don't do it for the money they do it because they love what they do and their love for Army is unconditional, one of the members even said that one day I would love to do a concert for free so that all Armies would be able to experience them in person. They have so much influence over millions of people and they use it for good, I attended one of their concerts in Las Vegas and it was indescribable, I was screaming and dancing and it was a feeling I have never felt before, and only BTS could make me feel that way, but during one of their breaks, they had a commercial and it was for global warming, they used their concert to spread the word about global warming and influence Armies to help the Earth and make it a better place. Everything that they do, Armies will be right behind them, in fact in Jungkook's Weverse live, he told us what his favorite drink was, and after the live, the drink sold out in a couple of hours. BTS have made history and changed the world for the better through their culture and music. They have impacted so many Asians like me to be proud of who they are, I am proud of who I am.
      Disney Super Fan Scholarship
The one thing I love about Disneyland is just being able to forget all my worries and just have fun! Sometimes school can give us a lot of pressure, and preparing for the future can be scary, but Disney gives me a chance to forget about all my worries and be in the moment and enjoy every second of it. The experience is nothing like any other amusement park. As soon as you step into the park, the feeling of being transported to a fantasy world filled with wonder and excitement is truly magical. What Disney means to me is that anything is possible. One of my favorite quotes is from Walt Disney, "If you can dream it, you can do it." I find it so inspiring to see how it all started with just a drawing of a mouse, and now it brings so much joy and happiness to many people around the world no matter big or small, the Disney magic brings joy to all ages. Disney has been around for almost a century so it connects to not only children, but people on the older side can see their favorite Disney movies from their time and see how it's developed into the movies that we know and love today. Disney also means just being a kid, though I'm still on the younger side, the worries about school and college give me a lot of stress and pressure, Disney gives me an escape from reality and also gives me a sense of comfort. My favorite Disneyland ride has to be Radiator Springs Racers in California Adventure. I love the Cars movies and the animatronics in the ride are so detailed, it's like you're being sucked into the movie. I love thrill rides and I am also very competitive, the ride gives me both in the race towards the end of the ride. One of the things that Disney does that no one can beat is their firework show. My family and I always stay for the firework show even though we are exhausted, but it was always so worth it because it is such a magical sight when the fireworks sparkle in the dark sky while listening to the music in the background, the show always gives your day a happy ending. Whether you're watching a movie in your living room or watching the fireworks over the castle, it brings joy and happiness, and it's all because of the Disney magic.
