Halo (my way of greeting people lol), my name is Madelynn, but everyone calls me Maddie because in my opinion, my birth name is too formal. Over the years, I've picked up way too many hobbies to count, but the main ones in my life have been Biology, Orchestra, and Choir. I've been in Orchestra since 5th grade, and Choir since 7th. My love for Biology, however, goes back to 7th grade during Covid, when I was basically learning stuff on my own. I remember being so proud of myself because biology was the first thing (school-wise) I was successful at compared to others. I say compared to others (even though I don't normally like comparing lol), because most of my life has been about trying to keep up with everyone else. I'm not officially diagnosed yet, but I'm 99.9% sure I'm ADHD. I can't promise that I'm perfect, because that'd be a huge lie, but I can promise I'll always try my hardest and put my best foot forward. A big "side effect" of ADHD, is that apparently, it's common to become fixated on new/interesting hobbies due to the surge of dopamine these activities bring (our brains lack the normal amount of dopamine than a neurotypical brain). After our brain gets bored (causing a dopamine drop), we lose interest and forget about the newly acquired hobbies 3 weeks later. With Biology, Orchestra, and Choir, these have been the biggest and most influential blessings out of all the hobbies I've tried in my short lifespan. I aspire to soar with my Biology hobby and use it to benefit others, while still hopefully being able to rise with my musical abilities at some point as well.
