Bio

I am a 27 year old female college student seeking to pursue a career in health science, specifically in nuclear medicine. I have worked as a radiology technician for the past 5 years and want to expand my knowledge to better serve my community. I currently work two jobs and live In a small two bedroom apartment, with my other adult roommates. As many know, the economy is rough right now. I hope to receive scholarships to further my education and allow me the ability to complete my goal in obtaining a degree in nuclear medicine.

I believe technology is a helpful resource in our daily lives, however it has made a negative impact on our society whenever it comes to communicating with our peers. We live in a society where we depend on technological devices for information and connection to others. To think that only 50 years ago, our way of communication was much different than how it is today. Our new sense of "community" is now on facebook, and our value deemed by the number of "likes" or "shares" our posts get. This translates into real life interactions. I know personally, it's harder and harder to meet new people and establish new connections. Many of my peers bury their faces into brightly lit LCD screens of phones and tablets. Their fingers constantly scrolling, not even noticing a potential new friend sitting near them. We could have so many things in common, but we would never know it because we are too busy avoiding real life interaction and instead, focusing our attention to the latest social media platform.
