By studying Ag Diesel, I will gain expertise in maintenance, diagnostics, and repair, ensuring equipment performs at its best. My goal is to reduce mechanical failures, prevent costly delays, and increase farm profitability. The hands-on training I’ll receive at Southeast Community College in Milford will allow me to share best practices with farmers, mechanics, and industry professionals, improving the agricultural sector.
After earning my degree and certification, I plan to bring my skills back to my rural community, where specialized repair services are limited. Farmers rely on machinery, and downtime can lead to financial losses or even life-threatening situations for livestock. My ability to repair and maintain farm equipment will help reduce reliance on external repair services, keeping operations running smoothly.
Beyond repairs, my skills will extend machinery lifespan, reduce waste, and improve efficiency. This expertise will also open multiple career paths, whether in farm operations, repair services, or as an independent agricultural diesel mechanic.

Blair Harrison Meek Rising Star Wrestling Scholarship
I have been involved in wrestling for nearly 15 years, and throughout this time, the sport has shaped me in ways that go beyond the mat. Wrestling has taught me how to face adversity head-on, learn from my failures, and push forward with greater resilience. More than just a physical sport, wrestling demands mental toughness, discipline, and the ability to adapt. One of the most valuable lessons I have learned is that losses are not setbacks—they are opportunities to grow and improve. Learning to lose with class is a skill that should not be overlooked.
In wrestling, every match is a test of preparation, skill, and mental strength. No matter how much time is spent training, there are always challenges. Early in my wrestling career, I struggled over a hardfought match where I came up short.
However, over time, I learned that the key to success and growth is perseverance- analyzing mistakes, refining techniques, and coming back stronger. Wrestling forces you to confront failure in a way that few other sports do. Unlike team sports where mistakes can be absorbed by others, wrestling places full accountability on the individual. You either make the right adjustments and improve, or you continue to fall short.
This mindset has completely changed the way I approach adversity in life. Instead of seeing obstacles as roadblocks, I view them as challenges to overcome through hard work, preparation, and perseverance. Whether it’s in my academics, career goals, or personal life, I understand that setbacks are a natural part of progress. Wrestling has taught me that success is earned through dedication and the willingness to learn from failure, which directly influences my ambitions for the future.
As I pursue a career in Agricultural Diesel Technology, I know that I will face challenges—whether it’s diagnosing complex mechanical issues, learning new technical skills, or navigating the demands of running a business. However, wrestling has given me the confidence to tackle these obstacles head-on. Just like in wrestling, I will approach my trade education and career with the mindset that hard work, preparation, and resilience will lead to success. I am committed to continuously improving my skills and pushing forward, no matter what difficulties arise.
The lessons I’ve learned from wrestling—patience, perseverance, mental toughness, discipline, and a relentless drive to improve—will stay with me for life, shaping my work ethic and determination to succeed in the agricultural industry. My attitude is- never give up, never stop learning, you can always improve!

We trained together, pushed each other, and celebrated each other’s victories. Every personal accolade I have received is a direct result of the countless hours of practice, sacrifice, and dedication that my teammates and coaches contributed. I am truly grateful to have been surrounded by such a hardworking and motivated group of individuals who shared the same goals and commitment to success.
The journey to achieving these milestones required more than just physical strength and athletic ability—it demanded goal-setting, mental toughness, and relentless dedication. I have learned to embrace challenges, stay composed under pressure, and trust in my training. Whether it was a high-stakes football game or a crucial wrestling match, I understood the importance of remaining focused and relying on my training. These lessons will continue to guide me, not just in sports but in all areas of my life, from academics to personal and professional aspirations. The ability to persevere, stay disciplined, and lead with confidence will serve me well in any future endeavor.
As I look ahead, I feel a strong sense of gratitude toward my coaches, who have been instrumental in my development as both an athlete and an individual. Their mentorship and unwavering belief in my potential have inspired me to give back to the programs that have given me so much. Whether through coaching, mentorship, or simply supporting future athletes, I hope to contribute to these programs in the years to come. Athletics have given me invaluable experiences and life lessons, and I am eager to pay it forward, helping the next generation of athletes achieve their own success.
