To whoever is reading this, I want to thank you for your time and consideration of my application. My name is Madalynn Wischnewsky and I am currently a sophomore at the University of Oklahoma. I am working towards a Bachelors of Art in Heath, Medicine and Society with a Minor in Military Science and a pre professional track for physician assistant. I plan to become a commissioned officer after college and continue with my schooling to become a physician assistant, preferably emergency or family medicine, and practice in the United States Army. If I do not continue my education, I would still love to work within the medical core. What ROTC has done for me is made me realize that I can do more with myself. My whole life I have felt like a follower and always downed myself saying “I cant do this” or “This is hard” or “Im going to quit”. For the first time in my life, since joining I have gained more confidence, skills, and knowledge of what it’s like to become a leader. Furthermore, what is more important to me than leadership is giving. I have been a giving and helpful person my whole life, and being able to eventually serve for my country means the world to me. I want to protect others, even if it is in the medical core, and become a role model for women in the Armed Forces to show that it is not just a man’s job- because women are capable of doing the same. With that, it is also how I plan to give back to my community. To serve and protect the nation I love, and am honored to call home. I would like to thank you for your time, and have a blessed day.
