Single mother of 4 continuing my education to better our lives. Being a single mom of four and going to college isn’t easy, but I’m doing it to build a better life for my kids. They are my biggest motivation, and they’re the reason I keep pushing even when I’m tired or overwhelmed. I’ve worked in healthcare for years, and it made me realize I want to become a nurse. I care about helping people, and I want to grow in my career so I can do more and provide better for my family. Being a mom has taught me a lot, how to stay patient, handle stress, and keep going no matter what. Those are the same skills I’ll use as a nurse. Even though this journey is hard, I know it will be worth it. There are a lot of challenges, like money, time, and balancing everything. Some nights I stay up late studying after taking care of my kids, but I remind myself why I started. I’m not just doing this for me; I’m doing it for my kids. I want them to see that even when life is hard, you can still go after your goals. I want to give them a stable future and show them that hard work matters. My goal is to become a nurse who truly cares and makes a difference. I’m determined to finish school and create a better future for my family.

Being a single mom of four while going to college is not easy, but its something I’m doing to build a better future for my kids and myself. Every day is a balance between taking care of my children, keeping up with school, working a full-time job, and still finding the strength to keep going. There are days when I feel exhausted and overwhelmed, but I remind myself why I started. My kids are my biggest motivation, and everything I do is for them. I’ve worked in healthcare for years, and that experience has shown me that nursing is where I truly belong. I’ve seen firsthand how much of a difference nurses make in people’s lives, especially during some of their hardest moments. That really stuck with me. I realized I don’t just want to stay where I am, I want to grow, learn more, and be able to do more for my patients. Becoming a nurse is not just a job to me, it’s something I genuinely care about. Being a mom has prepared me in ways I didn’t even realize at first. Taking care of four kids has taught me patience, strength, and how to handle stressful situations. I’ve learned how to stay calm when things feel chaotic, how to make quick decisions, and how to put others first no matter what. Those same skills are so important in nursing. I already know what it means to care for others, and I bring that with me into everything I do. Going to college as a single mom comes with a lot of challenges. Time is one of the biggest ones. My days are full, from the moment I wake up. I take care of my kids, handle everything at home, and then find time to focus on my schoolwork while managing a full-time job. Most nights, I’m studying after my kids go to bed, even when I’m tired and just want to sleep. It’s not easy, but I know it’s temporary and it’s all part of reaching my goal. Money is another challenge. Supporting four kids while going to school takes a lot of planning and sacrifice. There are times when things feel tight, and I have to make hard decisions. But I keep reminding myself that this is an investment in our future. Finishing school and becoming a nurse will give me the ability to provide a more stable and secure life for my children. Even with all the stress and challenges, I’ve learned how strong I really am. There have been moments where I wanted to give up, but I didn’t. I keep pushing forward because I know what’s waiting on the other side of this journey. I want my kids to grow up seeing that no matter how hard life gets, you don’t quit. You keep going, you work hard, and you do what you need to do to make things better. This journey is not just about my career; it’s also about setting an example.

You keep going, you work hard, and you do what you need to do to make things better. This journey is not just about my career; it’s also about setting an example. I want my kids to see me working toward something and understand the value of education and determination. I want them to know that they can achieve their goals too, no matter what obstacles they face. If they see me doing this, I hope it shows them that anything is possible with hard work and dedication. Another reason this path means so much to me is because of the kind of nurse I want to be. I don’t just want to do the job; I want to truly care for my patients. I know what it feels like to go through hard times, to be stressed, and to need support. I want to be someone who can make people feel heard, cared for, and safe. I believe that compassion is just as important as skill in healthcare, and I want to bring both into my career. There are still many steps ahead of me, and I know it won’t always be easy. But I’m committed to finishing what I started. I’m doing this for my kids, for our future, and for myself. I want to build a life where I don’t have to struggle the way I have in the past, and where my kids have more opportunities. At the end of the day, everything I’m working toward comes back to one thing, creating a better life for my family. This journey has already taught me so much about strength, resilience, and determination. I know that becoming a nurse will not only change my life, but also the lives of my children. That’s what keeps me going every single day. I also know that this is just the beginning. Finishing nursing school is one goal, but I want to keep growing even after that. I want to continue learning, gaining experience, and possibly advancing my education in the future. I want to build a career that I’m proud of and that gives my family stability long-term. This journey is hard, but it’s shaping me into a stronger person and a better future nurse. I’m learning discipline, time management, and how to push through challenges. I know that all of this will make me better not just for my career, but for my family too.
