      Bold Gratitude Scholarship
If I didn't live with gratitude, I wouldn't be living life to its fullest! How I show gratitude is by helping others around me, and not taking for granted the help others give to me. I am constantly thanking God for what I have, because in a moment everything can be taken away. I think about those around me who don't have as much as me, and I am blown away by all that I have. Putting myself in another's shoes definitely teaches me to be grateful and appreciate all that I have and go through, even the hard stuff. Life isn't easy but being grateful for all the little things sure makes it a lot more enjoyable! No words can express how much I appreciate the close people in my life and all they do for me. So, for me, I try to show my gratefulness by just being there for others and helping wherever I see a need.

I admire William Wallace, because of his confidence and determination. He didn't give up hope when his homeland of Scotland was invaded by the English. Though he too made mistakes in life, that is nothing new, as we all do. I just admire his bravery, and his standing up for freedom and what he believed in. He was not afraid of what others thought of him, or what others might do to him because of his actions. His people were being tortured he wanted to make a difference. He was not going to let his homeland and his people be controlled by the English. His bravery didn't come without a cost though! His wife was murdered and eventually he was too; while defending what he was fighting for all along, Scotland's freedom. Wallace's passion for freedom is what I really admire about this historical character. He could have backed away at any point, he could have just called off the efforts against the English. He didn't though, if anything, the murder of his wife set his passion for freedom burning with an even greater fire. Can you imagine losing everything and everyone you love to fight for your freedom? Freedom is a precious thing, something I think we all take for granted until it's taken away from us. Wallace's freedom was being stripped away right in front of his eyes, so he took action and paid the price. His work wasn't in vain, he set fire blazing in the hearts of Scotland's people. One so fierce that his legacy and all he fought for was carried out, and Scotland was free once again.

I think that to live a long happy life; we need to destress as much as possible. We need to simplify and make priority the important things in life. Family and friends need to be that priority, but most importantly family. A good family sticks up for each other and helps each other. We need to stay healthy and active, get out into nature as much as possible. Try new things, even the hardest things we can succeed in if we put enough effort in it. We need to be mindful of what we put into our bodies, and what we do to/with our bodies. Do things that bring joy into your life, don't always live with resentment, anger, and frustration. We need to be thankful for the little things, even the things that may be hard at the times happen for a reason. We need to love one another, forgiving each other, showing grace, mercy, and compassion to each other. We need to have faith because faith can move mountains. We need to surround ourselves with the light. Life is short, live every moment to its fullest. Don't hold grudges, forgiveness lightens heavy burdens. If you don't enjoy your career, find one that brings you happiness every day. Spend time with your family as much as possible, you won't always be together. Life is precious, a gift from above. Make a difference in your community, show love to your neighbors, say please, and thank you, give with a happy heart. Be mindful of your words, and what you say to others. The tongue can ignite raging fires or build lasting friendships. Stay in touch with your family in friends, stand up for one another, invest in each other. Above all love one another unconditionally!
