When I was younger, I always had an interest in medicine. I loved the idea of fixing and helping, and my overwhelming empathy constantly caused me to be emotional with my surroundings. I used to think I was a crybaby, and that I thought too deeply about minuscule things. Now that I'm older and I've grown, I've realized this is my greatest strength. I am proud of myself for being able to find and fix little problems, things that many others would skim over. I have always loved to help, and I find magic in the hands of those working in the medical field. My passion only drives me forward, and I hope to accomplish my goals to help as many people as I can.
More specifically, I've always found women to fall at the shorter end of things. Whether it comes to proper healthcare or even social scenarios, to be a woman is to struggle. The lack in research for female health is deeply concerning. There have been many instances with women all over the world where their problems have been dismissed or misdiagnosed because of the improper research around women's health. I need this to change. I hope to make a positive impact as a woman in the healthcare field by adding my perspective and bringing more light to women's health and their problems. I am tired of symptoms, sicknesses, and side effects taking over the lives of female children, teenagers, adults, and the elderly. The only way to help is to step forward and make my voice and those around me louder.
I want to pursue a career in research for women's healthcare.
Research is where the world can start to shift. It starts to mold new diagnoses, new medications, and spreads knowledge to women all over the world on how to take care of their bodies that have once been ignored. Women's health deserves more research and those with minds like mine deserve recognition and help on our journeys. Unfortunately, money is the only thing stopping me from being able to reach my greatest, and this is a reality for many bright minds all over the world.
I hope that my passion for helping those who are forgotten will change the world for the better, to improve the quality of life for our mothers, sisters, daughters, neighbors, friends, and strangers.
I hope to be bright, loud, and smart.
I hope to be a Woman.
