I'm Luisa Restrepo, a first-generation student at the University of Mary Washington majoring in Cyber Security and minoring in Computer Science. My interest in computing began fairly recently after discovering that I am passionate about creating programs and systems that help people and the environment. After going on a study abroad trip to Jamaica and discovering that there was a lack of computer scientists working in the environmental sustainability sector, especially women. I knew that I wanted to change and challenge the industry standard.
