I am the first place runner-up at the state level for Computer Science UIL in the AA division. I have achieved this placement within my first year of participation in UIL academics with no prior experience in the mentioned field.
I am a hard-working individual that, when faced with challenges, advances regardless of the position held. I aspire to advance my studies in the field of computer science by attending a four-year college. I come from a family that moved from Mexico to the United States to offer me a better education, and although we are a low-income family, that will not stop me from getting the education I want.
In my free time, I enjoy reading books that have to do with self-development and also viewing educational videos on coding to further expand my knowledge of computer science. I also enjoy playing video games, and I consider myself a master of games such as League of Legends and Apex Legends.

Studying computer science is what interests me the most. I want to develop an application that can mentally help those in need of it. I dealt with anxiety and panic attacks for a period of my life, and if it were not for my parents, who were there by my side throughout all the stages until I had full control of myself, I am unsure of the time it would have taken for me to surpass this stage. My application would consist of material that I wish I had known the importance of as I was going through the stage mentioned. It would leave a very polite and prosperous message every morning to get the people using it in the correct mindset, and at night it would leave a message that would make the user aware that everything is under control and to not give up. It would also connect people that are going through similar things and need someone to speak with so that they can relate to each other and express how they feel to let all the suppressed emotions out. Although I can’t use it with my current skills, artificial intelligence would also play a great role in recommending what videos or breathing exercises they could implement to get their body under relaxation, and although I have only been coding for less than a year, I am the first place runner-up at the state level for UIL computer science academics for the AA division, and I believe I have a talent for understanding and carrying out the necessities to be a prosperous computer scientist, and the application mentioned is a priority in my to-do list. I plan to carry out my application as soon as I have the required skills, which I plan to gain in college.
Bold Talent Scholarship
I have always been particularly interested in computer science since a young age, but I had never found any way of actually putting what I wanted into learning until this year. In this 2021–2022 school cycle, I was able to take a class by the name of AP Computer Science A. Here I started to learn all the basics to get started in coding. I became extremely passionate about the subject and, outside of school times, I would continue practicing, which, faster than expected, became my hobby. I knew the potential I had was limitless because I had never felt as motivated about a subject as I did now. I practiced and honed my skills and was invited to join the UIL team at my school. I never participated in UIL academics, but I saw it as a fun activity to be part of to continue honing my skills, and to my surprise, I was more talented than I believed. I became the first place runner-up at the state level for UIL academics in the AA division, becoming a champion in one year.

Bold Perseverance Scholarship
During an epoch of my life, I experienced absurd amounts of anxiety and dealt with panic attacks. I had to find a way to stop them since medicine could only do so much for a specified amount of time. I began to ask myself what was wrong with me. Why did my mind trick my body into feeling what I felt? Then I realized the problem was not in my mind. The problem was within my thoughts. I began to practice mediation and breathing exercises. I listened to meditation and was never left alone by my family. I read books on self-improvement. I tried everything I could until I finally achieved what I wanted. I was finally free from the nightmare I had placed myself in, unconsciously. There were so many times when I felt like giving up was the best way to end what I felt, but I did not want to feel the way I did and I wanted to prosper. I never gave up until the problem vanished, but even then, after it vanished, I was still presented with daily challenges that life brings to you, but this time I am prepared to face any challenge that is presented to me.

I soon escaped that sudden nightmare, and learned that I was in control of myself. I decided what I wanted and when I wanted it. I was in control of my actions and my thoughts. I learned that if I worked hard enough towards something, I could achieve it, and so I set a goal. I thought to myself I wanted to be better academically, and this year I am finishing the school cycle with all A's and I am the first place runner up at a state level for UIL in the 2A division. I would never have been able to achieve this if I did not believe that I was in control of my actions and if I had not found the value in believing in myself.
Bold Wisdom Scholarship
“The darkest nights produce the brightest stars.”- John Green.
I would love to share this sentence with the world because of how powerful the words are. When people are at their lowest points, they want to give up, but during those times of darkness is whenever we become whom we are meant to be. We learn to overcome our problems to escape that situation and end in a place better than what we had started. I say this through because during an epoch of my life; I lived with absurd anxiety and panic attacks, and I had to be better than I was to escape that place I no longer wanted to be at. Learning the things I lacked whenever my brain put me into that state forced me to adapt to the situation and overcome it, and during those hard times, this quote crossed my path, to which I am forever grateful as it helped me keep on trying.
Bold Happiness Scholarship
During an epoch of my life, I struggled with absurd amounts of anxiety and panic attacks, but despite that, I could always tell what made me the happiest. My family makes me the happiest. The euphoria that derives whenever I am with my family is like none other. Being embraced by the hands of my mother brings relief and joy incomparable, and being surrounded by those you love the most is an irreplaceable feeling. I appreciate having these people in my life, since many others have never felt the love of a parent. I appreciate everything they do for me every single day, and I want to give back to them by being a successful person in life and giving them tons of love. Family makes me happiest in this world and I would never replace it with anything else, as it makes me happiest regardless of the situation.
Hasanovic American Dream Scholarship
“The American Dream” is a term that most non-Americans have heard of. My American Dream is to attend a college and study what I love: computer science. I also dream of being able to one day work for Google to build upon the experience and knowledge I would gain by attending college. With the experience and knowledge I would gain at work, I would also meet people who shared my goal of starting a business. I would love to build a business and grow it to the level of other known enterprises. I want to build a software company that can resolve problems in our society. I want my name to be remembered for my accomplishments and contributions to society. There is another dream that I am passionate about. Being a real estate magnate is a dream of mine. I want to offer housing to as many people as I can. Whenever I had the chance, I worked with my father in construction. I love to help fix homes since that is where people live. With my college degree, I would love to build an application that combines these two subjects I adore. I would love to one day build an application that can do the brokerage step all online. Imagine that you have found the home you want to buy, but you don’t know how to get in contact with a broker. My application would be of use since, instead of needing to look for a broker to close on your property, it would be at your hands anytime, anywhere. It would function the same way brokers do already, but instead of needing to present each other in person to sign all the documentation, it could skip all the tedious back and forth between the two people. All they would need to do is sign the contract to close on that property on my application. The owner of the property would also receive everything within the blink of an eye. My company could hire all the brokers and bring them online, which I believe would be an amazing idea. However, as of my current situation, all I can hope and dream of first is to become a US citizen to carry out this plan. I will not give up on my dream regardless of my position since I have always been taught to try as hard as I can to achieve what I want.

Coming from a low-income household has never been easy. Maintaining the constant thought that money is tight puts stress on the habitants of the household. My family moved to the United States to escape the poverty and the insecurity that is daily lived in Mexico by many people. Among their main thoughts were education and my future. They knew that the move they had made was the correct one, and although things would not be easy, they still stuck to it to get me to where I am today. I have learned a vast amount from the struggles we had to advance through as a family. For the past 8 years, I have helped my family with everything I was able to. I helped my father build us a home in which I learned how to do drywall work and some electrical work. By being by his side, I learned how to apply siding and how to paint a house. My father has taught me how to fix cars and how to paint them. I would not have learned all this if I was not from a low-income family, because more than wanting to learn these skills, I had to. I had to learn these skills to support my father in what he worked on to alleviate his workload. I was taught how hard someone had to work to bring home a plate of food. I was taught that no matter what situation we are placed in, there is always a way out as long as we do not give up and continue trying. I was taught that honesty and good deeds are rewarded by the almighty we call God and was taught to rely on him. My parents always told me, "A shovel weighs more than a pencil." They told me this to emphasize that studying was a necessity. What I want is to make my parents proud of their hard work and to make up for all of the difficulties they have endured with me. I want to provide them with a bachelor's degree in something I am very passionate about: computer science. My plans for the future are to attend a four-year university and become the best in my class at the subject I have chosen to study. I want to graduate with a 4.0 GPA and work for Google as a software engineer and start my own company.
