My name is Lucy Karl and I am a sophomore nursing major at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. When I graduate, I plan on working in an intensive care unit for several years before going back to school to become a nurse practitioner. I am particularly passionate about neuro-critical care and taking care of patients that are recovering from neurosurgeries, strokes, and those who have suffered other life-altering traumatic brain injuries. I think that I am a great candidate for this scholarship because it will help me to pursue my goals of helping others through the nursing profession.
