Hello! My name is Lucy Roop. I am currently a sophomore at GVSU, living in Grand Haven, Michigan. I am actively pursuing my Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees with majors in Computer Science and Applied Computer Science, respectively. I am currently working at the Applied Computing Institute at GVSU through a program called Blue Nucleus, which allows undergraduate students to gain a competitive edge through real experiential learning with industry professionals. When I’m not coding, I’m extremely passionate about mathematics and the arts, particularly graphic design, portraiture, sculptural work, and vocal music. Throughout my educational career, I have always prioritized personal growth and aiming for success. I have held myself to high standards of excellence, and graduated within the top 10% of my class with a 4.2 gpa and several AP credits. I was a proud member of the National Honors Society, and I have always found helping my community through volunteer work very rewarding. Since starting college, I have carved my own path to graduate with necessary skills and industry experience, and I have also continued to excell in vocal music. With my educational and social goals, I look forward to giving back to my community in a myriad of ways. Scholarships would greatly help me achieve my goals and advance in my career overall.
