Hello, my name is Lucy Paradise, and I’m a senior at Boulder High School. I’ve been studying classical cello for over ten years under Psyche Dunkhase and am an active member of Boulder Suzuki Strings, where I continue to develop my skills and performance experience. Outside of music, I serve as the editor of the editorial section of The Owl, our school newspaper (https://bhsowl.org/staff_name/lucy-paradise/). My other endeavors include pole vaulting, Model UN, and chess. I also have the privilege to be a part of Cellists for Change, a nonprofit organization that advocates for underrepresented composers and provides scholarships for young musicians in Guatemala. This work has shown me the impact music can have on individuals and communities. In the future, I hope to study Mandarin/International Relations and compose/direct film scores. I also enjoy volunteering at animal shelters and plan to continue contributing to causes I care about wherever life takes me.
