Maureen "Moe" Graham Memorial Scholarship
When I had to deal with hardship was my sophomore year in high school, because I finished my freshmen year with horrible grades. If I stayed like that I knew I would be stuck doing fast food or just a low-paying job so I go my butt in gear to turn it around and as soon as I know it was my first after I transferred to Juda high school I held a 3.0 GPA and I was proud of that but I know that would not be good enough for the job I wanted which was computer science. Also, I was playing basketball in high school so that also taught me how to manage my time to the best of my ability and not to expect anything under excellent for school my junior year. So then junior year I was able to get a 3.6 GPA and that is when I was able to pull my cumulative GPA to 3.0. so at that point, I was extremely happy and proud of myself and I was able to pull it off, because of how much studying I did to get good grades. Also, it taught me how the world works also which is if you do not work hard do not expect it to go in your way because you did nothing for it to happen you have to work hard to get where you want. So now I am in my last year in high school and I am aiming for over a 3.7 GPA. So I can prove to everyone and myself that you can do anything you put your mind to. Like right now I am trying to juggle working as a welder for a youth apprentice in Stoughton Trailers and starting basketball and keeping my grades as high as I possibly can and how I'm dealing with it is I am working as many hours as I can before sports in my school start so I have leeway when they do start sports. So that's how I'm managing my time and it is teaching me so much about how hard work can be for people. Also, there's a lesson my dad has taught me and I'm using it now you have to grind now so you can enjoy life later and not have to worry about a thing and just chill out. thank you for reading my essay and I hope you choose me for the scholarship have a good day.
