My name is Lorenzo Wallace and I am an incoming freshman at UNCP. I am from Greensboro, NC and I attended eastern Guilford high school. I feel that introductions are important because it gives you an opportunity to really get to know who it is that you would be giving an opportunity to. I am a family first type of guy and I'm always open to improving how I can be as a person. I have played multiple sports including football, basketball, baseball, and track and field. I graduated as a 4x state finalist in track and field and a 3x nationals qualifier. I have two younger siblings, a younger brother who is 15 and a younger sister who is 3. They are part of the reason I push myself as hard as I do because I always want to be the big brother that they look at an example of what to do, or the blueprint for what's right. This scholarship opportunity will help me to show everyone that I can be successful and make opportunities for myself rather than waiting on opportunities to be given to me. This scholarship would help me to pay the rest of my remaining balance and start toward my degree in sports administration. I want to become an individual in leadership in the world of sports. I love to help impact people and their lives and help them grow into the best version of themselves that they can be. I feel that I have a gift in connecting with people and bringing people together and I would love to show this gift to everyone. This scholarship would mean a lot to me and it would help lift a heavy burden off of my shoulders and really help me to kick off what I believe could be a special opportunity for me. I plan on graduating at the top of my class and showing everyone how great I can really and truly be. My path certainly hasn't been the hardest due to my support system always having my back. My parents have definitely helped pave the way for me and my siblings to be successful and now we just have to put it in motion which is why I'm applying for this scholarship right now. I feel that I owe it to them to try and give myself a chance at winning this money to help further my education and grow into the man that I know I can be.
