My name is Logan and I’m studying construction college with one goal in mind—to use my skills to help people rebuild and feel secure. I’ve always been drawn to hands-on work, and I see construction as a powerful way to make a difference in communities.
School isn't easy for me. I struggled for years in silence with reading and writing. It wasn’t until late in high school that I was diagnosed with dyslexia. By then, I had already internalized a lot of self-doubt and frustration. I had already faced setbacks that made me question my potential. As I continue to understood my learning style and learn tricks to push throug by learning to how advocate for myself and adapt in ways that make me stronger.
Now, I’m focused on turning that resilience into a career where I can serve others, solve real-world problems, and build a future I’m proud of. This scholarship would help me stay on that path and make the most of the opportunity ahead.

I’ve always been the kind of person who learns by doing. Reading instructions or sitting through long lectures never clicked with me the way hands-on work does. For most of my school years, I struggled to keep up—often not understanding why. It wasn’t until late in high school (junior year) that I was diagnosed with dyslexia. That moment changed everything. It gave me clarity and helped me understand that I wasn’t slow or incapable—I just needed a different way to learn.
Trade construction offers exactly that. It’s a career built on skill, hard work, and real-time problem solving. It’s about learning through action and building with purpose. For someone like me, who thrives when working with my hands, this trade is the perfect fit.
I’m entering construction training not just because I enjoy the work, but because I see the value in it. Construction isn’t just about putting up walls or pouring concrete—it’s about creating safe, functional spaces where people live, work, and grow. It’s a trade that makes a visible, lasting impact. That’s what drives me.
I know I have a long road ahead as I train and build up my skills, but I’m committed. My experience with dyslexia taught me how to push through challenges, find new ways to learn, and never give up just because something’s difficult. I bring that mindset into every project I take on.
This scholarship would give me the financial breathing room to focus fully on my training. It would allow me to invest in my future without carrying the added stress of how to afford it. More importantly, it would be a vote of confidence in someone who’s ready to work hard, learn fast, and contribute to a trade that shapes the world around us.
I’m excited to build a career in construction—not just for myself, but for the chance to help others, improve communities, and take pride in a job well done.
