In August I plan on starting college and 4 years later I hope to obtain a bachelors in hospitality management and I hope to also get a minor in Psychology and French. I would love to better understand the human brain so I can better serve customers in a premier way. My career goal is to be a Hotel General Manager. Ten years ago I knew I wanted to work in a hotel and today In ten years from now I imagine myself at a Hotel providing premier service to guests and training a team to be apart of something big. What you may ask is “big” our ladies and gentlemen. When we take care of our ladies and gentlemen (team) they take care of their customers as well. I want to be able to create an environment where our ladies and gentlemen is treated with the utmost respect and is well compensated for their work being done. For our ladies and gentlemen staying within the resort my goal is for each and every one to be treated like kings and queens. It’s very important to add that one extra thing. It shows that we care about our customer’s and it shows why the customer should choose us versus the competitor. I have management experience for about two years during my junior and senior year and the most important aspect of the job I’ve learn is that the small details are big. Paying attention to the small details such as gum under the table, dirt in a corner, a stain on a wall, or water on the floor is extremely important and may people don’t think about that. Paying attention to the small details shows the customer that we care and will push that forward to create an environment where our customers are treated like kings and queens. As a future hospitality manager, I believe that strong leadership qualities are essential. By fostering a positive work environment, leading by example, and empowering our team to take ownership of their roles, I aim to cultivate a motivated and dedicated team that consistently delivers exceptional service. It would be a dream to work in a hotel and daily meet new people across the world to explore their cultures and experiences. Recognizing and embracing cultural diversity is key in the hospitality industry. My knowledge of different cultures and languages, like French, will allow me to effectively communicate and connect with guests from various backgrounds, ensuring their comfort and satisfaction throughout their stay. With this scholarship I plan to take the classes I need to get my bachelors in hospitality management. I would also like to use the money for classes pertaining to psychology and French so I can better understand people and so I can continue learning about the French language and culture. Thank you for this opportunity!
