Hi, I am Lluvia Guerrero, and I am a 20-year-old female who loves to play wheelchair basketball; and loves to spend time with her family and friends. Some of my life goals are to accomplish my licensure of being a Mental Health Counselor and be successful one day.
As of right now, I am a full-time student at [Private] Tech majoring in Psychology. I am in my second year at this college, and I couldn't be any happier. I live in Fort Wayne, IN, and I've lived here since then. I worked a part-time job at McDonald's, but I quit due to my disability.
I am working on getting my bachelor's degree in psychology, and I plan to head to graduate school to get my master's degree to become licensed. I am very excited that I'm on my way to becoming an LMHC and hoping to accomplish that by 2027. My disability for anyone wondering is Spina Bifida, I was diagnosed since Birth.
Did an Internship in the Bowen Center where I helped Skill Coaches keep their students safe and sound and trying not to explode when there is a situation going on.
I feel like I would be a great therapist because I am calm, and have many experiences to share with my clients.

"The way I see it, if you want the rainbow, you have to deal with the rain." -Dolly Parton
I am very passionate about psychology; I have loved psychology since I had depression and I had thoughts of suicide and actually attempting it. Something about me is I am always ready to learn something new. Hi, I am Lluvia and I am 20 years old. I am in my 3rd year in college; technically I am a sophomore academically. But I am so happy, time is flying by fast, it seems like I am almost at the finish line.
You may be asking yourselves now since I am so passionate about psychology, "what are Lluvia's plans after she is done?" Well, I have thought to be a therapist, but my plans are changing. Since I had a plan of getting my bachelor's degree, find another college, and then get my masters degree. After that, I would get the biggest exam of my career which would be my licensure for Mental Health Counselor. I chose this original plan because I wanted to be done with school completely, instead of going back and complete my masters degree.
With all of that being said, you may now be wondering, "well, what are her plans now?" Great question, and here is my response. Instead of being a therapist, I am going directly to graduating my bachelor's degree in psychology; and look for jobs related to my field. This degree would help and make me so happy because I would the first in my family to have a degree in college, as well the first in my family to have gone to college. I have thought about this for awhile now, and I feel like it was my best fit. I have done some research and what I could be after graduating my bachelor's degree and some jobs include: Psychiatrist Technician, Recreation Leader, SAC (Substance Abuse Counselor), Victim's Advocate,
Volunteer Coordinator, etc.
The one that loved and felt more to me was Psychiatrist Technician because I was in the psych ward from 2018-2019, I was dealing with a lot of of mental health issues back then. I am so thankful for everything and that I still here everyday trying to accomplish my goals and dreams. I hope to win this scholarship because it would go towards the cost of tuition at my college and my career. Thank you so much for reading my scholarship essay and I hope to win this.

Bold Mental Health Awareness Scholarship
I feel like one practical solution would be listening to your peers and people around you before judging that person's point of view. Judging someone story beforehand is rude and you are not only being rude but you are already saying that you don't trust them or don't believe them. People need to listen and respect others. Another practical solution would be heard, if someone is suffering from mental health like depression or feeling like they want to end it LISTEN TO THEM. This could help save a live by listening to your friends, family, coworkers, basically anyone. Don't just judge by one sentence, listen to the whole story. Last practical solution would be checking on your peers whether you are on vacation or staying at home, checking on your peers shows your peers you care about them and they are more likely to come to you when they have a problem. Without listening, being heard, checking on your peers this could lead to worse things like suicide, silent depression, self harm, and even drugs. No one wants to hear that your friend/family/coworker died due to the above things just because you didn't listen, heard them, and checked on them. Instead you decided to judge, spread rumors and refused to check them thinking they were alright. Don't assume, always ask, "hey I wanted to check in with you, are you doing alright?" It only takes like five seconds to send a message like this. Don't assume they are doing alright, and if they respond with no I am not, carry on with a conversation, it will help you and at the end of the day it will help them.
Lo Easton's “Wrong Answers Only” Scholarship
1. Why do you deserve this scholarship? I feel like I deserve this scholarship so I can keep all of the money and waste it on stupid things.
2. What are your academic and/or career goals? I want to become a Stripper that is why I am majoring in Psychology. I want to try to achieve all D's and F's so I do become successful and go to graduate school.
3. Tell me about a time you’ve overcome an obstacle. I am like Mario, I just jump and I don't look back in the past, I move forward before I run out of time and I die. So I try to get there before the timer buzzes.
Papi & Mamita Memorial Scholarship
Hi, I am Lluvia Guerrero, and I recently just turned 20 years old. I am a first-generation student means neither of my parents went to college. When I was graduating from high school, I didn't know anything about college, so I didn't know what to expect. I thought college was going to be the same as high school, but it was not the same. It wasn't easy to transition from high school to college because I graduated during a pandemic. I thought I wouldn't finish high school because everything was online from that point.
Finally, it was time for me to graduate but I didn't graduate like any typical graduation anyone had. I had a drive-thru graduation, everyone was terrified of Covid-19, and I thought 2020 was going to be my year. It wasn't, I had only turned 18 when then a week later, I heard there wasn't going to be school until April then eventually no school but virtually. I was devastated because I wanted my lasts and to say goodbyes to my teachers but I didn't all because of Covid-19.
It wasn't a typical transition and I struggled a lot to pass my first semester of college which eventually I failed my first semester. I was put on academic probation for my second semester, which then I struggled a lot since I had lost my cousin and I went through a lot of medical things. Now, I am in my second year of majoring in psychology. I want to make a positive impact through my college degree.
With this degree, I want to be a mental health therapist to help people who struggle with depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, etc. I not only want to help people with mental health issues, but I also want to help people who have been victims of rape, domestic violence, bullying, etc. But before being a mental health therapist, I need to have a master's degree.
To have my master's, I need my bachelor's degree which is in the works. I am excited to make a positive impact on this world; I feel like with the life we live, nowadays prices are going up for food, gas, and clothing, the world hasn't been easy. That's why being one extra therapist like the one I want to be, people around me probably make the world a little easier. I am also very excited that no matter what I fail in as a person I never stop smiling and a lot of people see that of me as a characteristic.
Cat Zingano Overcoming Loss Scholarship
The loss of my 2 cousins this past coming year has hit me the most and to the edge, one of my cousins died due to overdosing a drug and the other one died because he got into motorcycle accident. The one who died in the motorcycle was preceded with my cousin who died 3 years as well due to motorcycle accident. Its been really hard for me this past 3 years but I continue to become strong so I can become a therapist and help those that grieve of a loss of a family member. Its never easy to lose a friend, how can you imagine losing a family member feel like, its feels 10x worse. I thought I felt the grief people felt when they lost someone, but I didn't, until my cousin who overdosed the drug died. That is because, him and I were so close to each other when we were little kids, and finding out he died wasn't the same without him. I'm still in the process of grief, I haven't accepted his death. But I am getting help to help grief in more healthier ways, like, crying it out, going to the cemetery, going to his profile and look at him, look at the pictures we took when we were younger. No one ever said grief was easy, it probably won't get any easier from here. I don't feel guilty as I was in the beginning of the process. But the grief process isnt easy, its bumpy road especially if you are in college.
