My parents have had quite an impact on a majority of my athletic decisions. I was always indecisive about where I wanted to go to school or if I wanted to play soccer or not. But my mom and dad were behind me every step of the way. I applied to fifteen different schools, half of which would allow me to follow my dream of playing collegiately and the other half which would have to hang up my boots for good. My parents were the ones to drive me over state borders for soccer tournaments to help get me seen. They were the ones cheering loudest for me on the sidelines, to help me keep the passion of playing and the drive to always reach my fullest potential. My parents were also the ones to drive me to all my college visits all for some of them to finish and me turn to them and tell them I would never go there. My parents just wanted me to be happy with where I ended up. They were free reigns when it came to my recruiting process but was always sure to let me know that they were behind me every step of the way. They knew that I would make the best decision, both financially and academically, as they knew I was going to be more than an athlete one day. I am grateful that I had my parents behind me during recruiting and even now. They continue to be my biggest supporter both on and off the field and they are constantly pushing me to reach my fullest potential. They let me decide my fate and were there when I came up to them one day after months of saying I was not going to play in college, I walked up to them and told them that I had changed my mind and I cannot imagine a life without soccer. They moved me from team to team to help me reach more exposure, when through all of the crazy Covid protocols with me on these visits. Took time off of work to drive me to a college visit three hours away. And when I did finally decide on my school, they were not upset when I picked the school that has practically been in my backyard this whole time after all of the visits hours away. Even now, they never let me settle for anything less than my best. They go to every game (even if they know I will not be playing). If they miss a game, then they are the first parents to turn on the live stream. My parents are the reason I am the athlete I am. I have adopted their hard work, determination, confidence and grit. I have no idea where I would have ended up if I was not playing soccer, but I do know that my parents would be behind me every step of the way.

I have been an athlete for as long as I can remember. Trying a handful of sports in my youth and utterly failing at some, I was able to find soccer. After many college applications, it had then come down to the choice on if I wanted to continue playing at the next level or if I was ready to hang up my cleats. After endless nights of thinking, I was finally able to say that I was going to be a college athlete. I chose this path because playing soccer has shaped me into the person I have become today. I have made some of my greatest friends and I would not trade it for the world. I have been taught discipline and responsibility just by kicking a silly little ball into the back of a net. My motivation is my five year old self. Who if you were to ask she was convinced she was going to be in the 2020 Olympics winning gold with the US Women's National Team. She would have told you she was going to be the first female soccer player on the Columbus Crew. I decided not to retire for her. In school, I am currently majoring in Sport Management with a minor in marketing. I hope one day to be able to say I am the Director of Marketing for any sports team but if it involves soccer that of course would be a bonus. I want to be able to keep sports in my life for as long as I can. To be able to one day help those find the love for a sport the same way I did.

I don't really deserve this scholarship. I am a very talented young woman with a lot going for me. I am the princess of a small country located in Europe (do not ask though because I am sure you are not aware of the country). But if I really wanted to I could just sell my collection of tiaras each embedded with diamonds and rubies and molded to my head to help pay for my education. My mother (the queen of course) just told me I need to be like the commoners and apply for some scholarships. Some of may career goals are to take over the thrown and help my kingdom become the most powerful and beautiful kingdom in all of the land. One obstacle that I have had to overcome is when my mother (did I mention she is the queen?) would not let me buy a brand new horse. It was a very challenging time for me as I have always gotten what I wanted, but mother told me I did not need another horse. Instead, we compromised and she bought me a miniature pony along side with a brand new, custom, Prada bag.
