Lindsey Kwok is an incoming freshman at UC Berkeley Haas School of Business, where she will complete the Spieker major in business administration as a Regents Scholar. Born in San Francisco, Lindsey grew up with three siblings, watching her parents work tirelessly to provide her opportunities they never had. She’s interested in youth empowerment through education and resource management. Her time is dedicated to mentoring or organizing resources for her teams or students.
Outside of school, Lindsey is ranked #3 dragonboat paddler in the nation and represented Team USA at the Berlin Dragon Boat World Championships on their U18 team, coming home as a 5x World Champion. She also serves as CEO of the Urban Harmony Project, RoundPier’s Lead Intern, her school’s Interact Club President, and her dragon boat team captain. Throughout her leadership roles, Lindsey aims to practice “servant leadership,” which she defines as contributing the empathy, collaboration, and resources that empower them to discover the power within their own voices rather than just commanding others.
Lindsey has found purpose in not only leading safe environments where youth can become their most empowered selves through culture-driven leadership but also in optimizing organizational processes. Working in nonprofits, she’s seen how inefficient outreach/management systems waste resources that could benefit vulnerable populations. Ultimately, Lindsey strives for a lifetime of service in the nonprofit sector, which she knows is under-resourced, while also being a sister, family member, friend, and citizen.
