I have had many leadership opportunities within sports and my other involvements. I was a captain for two years for cross country as well as wrestling. Currently I am in a leading role as a senior on the track and field team. I am the co-president of a club we just started at Tooele high school called Just Serve. We do service in our community and try to help better our high school. At church I am the secretary of my class presidency and have previously been president, 1st counselor, and second counselor. As well as on a girls camp planning committees for both my ward (30 girls) and stake( 115 girls). I'm also involved in teen council and leadership committee for 4-H. Playing sports has truly helped shape me into the person I am today. I have been able to learn so much about life and who I am and who I want to be through sports. Sports are a very big part of my life, I learned discipline and dedication but most importantly I have learned to love hard work and find satisfaction in my efforts. I have been so blessed to find great success in my sports. I have been able to go to state for cross country 3 times, wrestling 4 times, and so far to track 3 times. Through these experiences and successes I have been able to grow so much. I have been able to see my hard work pay off and I have also been able to witness undeniable miracles. Wrestling has taught me many life lessons especially It has taught me to love hard things, it has taught me that win or lose I can be the person that will make people proud. I have learned dedication and perseverance. These lessons spill over into my schooling and academics. I have worked very hard to hold a 4.0 since 7th grade. Sometimes its been tempting to give up just get a simple A- but then I am reminded, I am not a quitter, I can work harder, I can do more. These are all things I've learned through sports, I have learned so many things because of my athletics. I am driven in sports by the desire to do my best constantly. I want to succeed in all that I do, I want to work hard, give a hundred percent and do my best everyday in every way. Being the best I can be is who I am, it's who I am because I have learned it in sports since I was little. I want to do my best in all that I do, I work hard everyday to become better in some way even if it is just simple ways and I have learned these types of skills from sports. I am grateful for the person I have become through and because of both athletics and academics. I know that learning the benefits of work and how to work will forever serve me in my life and especially as I go on to college.
