Hello, Im Lillian Wright. Im a freshman student at Ball State University currently pursuing my bachelor’s in social work. I was very involved in high school, I swam varsity for the Noblesville Swim Team and Club Team, I worked 5 different jobs all at once, I volunteered for things going on around the county. Since ive started college I've started volunteering at the cardinal kitchen food pantry every week or so since I am busy with eighteen credit hours. After I receive my bachelor’s degree I plan to get my masters in social work and become a clinical social worker. I am currently in the 3 year fast track program so I will graduate in spring of 2028 and plan to start my masters degree immediately. My whole life I've had one goal and that was to help people in need. Ive been around so many different cultures and people that ive seen many different backgrounds and how they shaped individuals into how they are today. Although I did not grow up with any issues my best friend did. His past really shaped the way I viewed the world and ultimately started my dream to help others. Especially in today’s world I believe social worker is almost a necessity with the differences in day to day lives, and I fully plan to provide aid to those who need it. You may be wondering why exactly I want to do clinical social work, the answer is simple, I want to work with anybody and everybody. From kids, adults, disabled, elderly, etc. I consider anyone and everyone equal and at the end of the day I believe we are all human. This scholarship would help me in many different ways. The top reason being helping pay for college. Although I haven’t taken out loans this semester I will have to next year. Even though I work 5 different jobs nothing ever seems to be enough to pay, but I am determined to help people so I do whatever I can even if that means no free time because of work. I know ultimately in the end it will all be worth it. All the long nights, the debt, the bills that need paid, it’ll all be worth it because I will be doing what ive dreamed of, helping people one by one, day by day, year by year, and one day ill be able to sit back and say I did it, I helped them.
