My name is Lilibet Ponce Pleitez, I al 22 years old. I am currently an LPN who works in a nursing facility in Lynn MA. I been working here for over 2 years. I am seeking my Bachelors degree in Nursing at Salem State. I want to be able to get my RN so I can be able to do more with my skills as a nurse and work in different places. I become a nurse because I like helping people, I started working as a CNA when I was 18 and I was in high School. I loved working with the elderly and just realizing what an impact I made in their lives. I want to be able to further my career to help all the people out there who are ill and need to be taken care of. I love my job, and because I love my job so much I want to learn more, and have the chance to help those people who need it. During the pandemic of COVID I realized how much we need nurses, And I worked during covid and realized how much these elderly people need the help, they need someone to take care of them and someone who care about them. It was hard to see many people died of COVID and so many family members who had to say good bye to their loves trough a screen. But all the health care worker were there to help these patients. I want to go out there and keep helping all the people who need help, but I Do also need help to achieve that. That is the reason I am applying for this scholarship, being a full time student in nursing school it’s difficult, there is so much class time and clinical schedule that needs to be done, that one is only able to work 16 hours a week, unfortunately 16 hour a week can not pay for my school tuition.
