As a first generation student coming from a low income Hispanic household, I have had a personal connection to not being able to afford the luxury of an X-ray scan in a time of crisis. I am filled with determination and purpose knowing that my vision of creating a mobile radiological lab for low-income Hispanic families, will not only change lives, but revolutionize the way healthcare is delivered. Access to essential medical care, particularly diagnosing images, remains unaffordable for underprivileged families. These barriers reach from finical constraints to geographical isolation, yet the humane right of quality and affordable healthcare knows no limits. With my future masters or doctoral degree in Biomedical sciences & certification in radiology, I plan bridge the gaps between privilege and necessity. Knowing that the benefit to healthcare should be inclusive and accessible to all Hispanic citizens, I can bring the world of state-of-the-art technology to someone’s doorstep.
