Hello! My name is Lilianna Salgado and I am a first generation Senior at Edinburg High School in Edinburg Texas.
As for my future plans, I plan to attend a 4 year University program here in Texas and live on campus. However, in the future I would like to earn a doctors degree!
Before I die, I would like for people to understand my deep passion for community service, as well as my passion for helping those in lower income households who cannot afford emergency medical services .
The major I would like to go into would be biomedical sciences and or pre-med, since I would like to study and hopefully become a radiologist in the future! I have a strong passion for science & medicine and I really want to make a difference to the world by using my expertise to help people who cannot afford x-rays! In addition, I am currently involved in various on school medical projects and my schools HOSA program at my school to hopefully help fulfill this dream of mine.

Chappell Roan's music has been the missing jigsaw piece in my journey of self-discovery, sexuality, and acceptance. Her fearless exploration of identity and love in her lyrics has created a sanctuary for me to reflect on my own experiences and emotions. Among her songs, "Pink Pony Club" stands out to me as a beacon of hope and freedom in the queer community , a celebration of self-expression and belonging that resonates with myself.
"Pink Pony Club" is more than just a song; it's an anthem for anyone seeking a place where they can be unapologetically themselves. Its themes of discovering a community that welcomes you with open arms mirrored my own journey towards self-acceptance. Through this song, I found the courage to embrace my true identity, shedding the layers of fear and doubt to reveal my authentic self.

In a world plagued by corruption of healthcare access, the need for innovative solutions has never been more urgent. As a first generation student coming from a low income Hispanic household, I have had a personal connection to not being able to afford the luxury of an X-ray scan in a time of crisis. I am filled with determination and purpose knowing that my vision of creating a mobile radiological lab for low-income Hispanic families, will not only change lives, but revolutionize the way healthcare is delivered.
Access to essential medical care, particularly diagnosing images, remains unaffordable for underprivileged families. These barriers reach from finical constraints to geographical isolation, yet the humane right of quality and affordable healthcare knows no limits.
With my future masters or doctoral degree in Biomedical sciences & certification in radiology, I plan bridge the gaps between privilege and necessity. Knowing that the benefit to healthcare should be inclusive and accessible to all Hispanic citizens, I can bring the world of state-of-the-art technology to someone’s doorstep. I have made it my personal mission to study how I can improve the qualities of X-rays inside of a school bus sized vehicle, while gaining support from outside groups to help fund my dream and research.
Opening a mobile radiology clinic is important to me because it is more than just an art of medical diagnosis and community service , it is a sign of hope and empowerment that will hopefully inspire others to take control in healthcare outcomes as well.
