Being involved in sports such as cross country and track has played a huge role in shaping me into a stronger and more confident young woman. It has taught me that strength comes in many forms, not just physical but mental and emotional as well. Every practice, every race, and every challenge on the field pushed me to develop perseverance and self-discipline. I learned how to stay focused on my goals even when things got difficult or when I felt discouraged. Sports gave me the experience of working hard consistently and showed me that progress comes from effort and dedication, no matter the obstacles.Balancing my time between school, athletics, and my personal life was not always easy, but it was one of the most important lessons I have learned. Managing homework, studying, training sessions, and still finding time for family and friends helped me become more organized and responsible. I want to become a kindergarten teacher because I believe in the power of education to change lives, just as it has the potential to break the cycle of financial hardship in my family. In addition, balancing my family’s financial struggles has pushed me to work even harder toward my goal of higher education. My dad, the sole provider for our family, manages everything on one income, and with my sister in college, the financial strain is even greater. I don’t want to add to this burden, which is why a scholarship would relieve much of the financial pressure by covering key expenses like tuition and textbooks, allowing me to focus entirely on my education. My dad is the sole provider for our family, and managing household expenses on a single income is incredibly challenging. I’ve seen my parents work tirelessly to support us, including helping my brother, who finished community college, and my sister, who is currently in college. With the costs of education adding extra strain, I feel responsible for not burdening my family further. This financial stress has made me more determined to pursue higher education and contribute to my family’s future. A scholarship would ease this pressure by covering expenses like tuition, books, and fees, allowing me to focus on my studies instead of worrying about costs. It would give me the freedom to fully dedicate myself to my education without adding more strain on my parents. My ultimate goal is to major in Liberal Studies and become a kindergarten teacher.
