Bio

With a passion for health and well-being, I energize patients to achieve their goals and to take charge of their health. Graduating with a Bachelor of Arts in Global Studies, I bring a commitment to serving patients of all backgrounds both locally and abroad, and hope to volunteer internationally as a future Physical Therapist. At Therapeutic Associates Physical Therapy, I have honed my skills in both exercise instruction and outpatient clinic management. I've gained invaluable insights into personalized patient care while exploring diverse interventions. As the Lead for a new clinic location, I have taken on more responsibility in both treatment and administration while working closely with our Practice Manager. As a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS), I design and implement individualized strength and conditioning programs tailored to each client’s goals and needs at the YMCA. I provide hands-on coaching to refine exercise technique with a strong emphasis on injury risk reduction. I pursued various leadership roles in the Boise State Honors College, but I discovered my spark for teaching as a Discussion Group Leader where I instructed discussion courses and designed lesson plans. Nominated as a Frank Church Scholar for my service with a Palestinian nonprofit, I applied my teaching experience as an English Language Instructor.

Building meaningful patient-provider relationships was why I fell in love with the physical therapy profession. A clinician must thoroughly understand a patient’s goals in order to inspire change by treating the patient, not the diagnosis. In this discovery of patient-centered care, I strive to motivate both the patients and clients that I work with by embracing challenges and celebrating progress. I pursued a degree in Global Studies with a specific interest in service work, a path that has not only equipped me with a comprehensive understanding of international health challenges but also ignited a fervent desire to empower diverse communities in need locally and abroad. I pursued various leadership opportunities in the Honors College, where I discovered my passion for teaching as a Discussion Group Leader. In this role, I led classroom discussions and orientation activities. I found joy in learning about each student and tailoring the course experience to individual backgrounds while guiding discussions. Serving as a mentor for past students was one of the most rewarding experiences of college. With my extensive involvement at the university, I was later nominated as a Graduating Student Leader, an award for students who go above and beyond in creating positive change on campus. With a newfound interest in teaching, I applied as an English Language Instructor with a Palestinian nonprofit organization. I was responsible for both creating lesson plans and instructing classes, while remaining adaptable when coursework did not go as planned. I was challenged by diverse fluency levels and ages of my students, so I constantly modified lessons to meet their needs. Despite language barriers, I became an effective communicator in the classroom in collaboration with translators and built lasting memories with my students. Following this experience, I was nominated as a university Frank Church Scholar. I found myself captivated by the profession of physical therapy for their unique role in the healthcare system as educators, and pursued a position as an Exercise Specialist with Therapeutic Associates. I bridged my knowledge gap and quickly found my place empowering patients with my positive energy to pursue their physical goals, or discover new ones. Now the Lead Exercise Specialist for a new clinic location, I have taken on more responsibility in both patient care and clinic administration. Drawing from my experience across multiple clinic locations, I have embraced the opportunity to shape our clinic procedures, culture, and reputation. I manage outreach with local medical practices and continue to grow in my understanding of how interprofessional teamwork can improve patient outcomes. As a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS), I also work as a Personal Trainer at the YMCA. I design and implement strength and conditioning programs tailored to each client’s goals and needs, providing hands-on coaching to hone exercise technique with a strong emphasis on injury risk reduction. With a steadfast commitment to service, I am an adaptable lifelong learner who is eager to grow with the field and prepared to bring a global perspective. Now a student in the University of Colorado Anschutz Physical Therapy Program, I am excited to uncover opportunities to both advance and broaden the impact of the profession. With a resonating commitment to health and wellbeing, I hope to inspire my future patients to get back to living the life they love by encouraging a capability mindset, rather than one of disability.
