    Proverbs 3:27 Scholarship
My name is Lexi Taylor, and I am currently a senior at Mt. Vernon High School in Mount Vernon, Missouri. Throughout my upbringing, I have been supported primarily by my father and my great-grandmother. My father was raised in the Pentecostal Church and attended a Pentecostal-based high school, while my great-grandmother has dedicated over half of her life to her faith. Both have instilled in me the significance of giving, receiving, and problem-solving. I believe that serving a community encompasses more than just physical labor; it also involves making conscious choices that positively impact those around us. Cultivating kindness and a welcoming environment is essential in fostering community spirit. This approach not only promotes an optimistic mindset among individuals but also contributes to the overall character and reputation of the community. In addition to simple acts like holding doors or engaging in friendly conversations with strangers, I recognize the importance of hands-on community service. I regularly donate my belongings and reach out to classmates who may be struggling with issues related to self-worth, identity, and spirituality. Through my high school, I have participated in various community service initiatives. For instance, I am involved with the significant Jobs for America’s Graduates (JAG) program, which has provided me with opportunities to assist organizations like Convoy of Hope in packaging hygiene products. Moreover, our school organizes an annual community service day, where students are divided into groups and assigned to local businesses to assist with organizing, cleaning, and preparing food for those in need. My aspiration is to further my ability to help others. I believe that God provides us with the guidance we need, and it is our responsibility to act upon it. As I transition into my early adult years, I recognize that college will be a pivotal phase in my journey, challenging me to deepen my faith, wisdom, and knowledge. My goal is to invest in my personal growth not only for my own benefit but also to have a greater impact on the community as a whole. Receiving this scholarship would bring me closer to achieving this objective and allow me to pursue my education without incurring debt. Many individuals face the burden of student loans, and I strive to avoid that situation. I am grateful for the chance to apply for scholarships, knowing that regardless of the outcome, I trust that God has a purpose for me. Thank you for considering my application. I am the blond girl in the camouflage long sleeve shirt, dating a hygiene box. Those boxes are now being used to help the individuals impacted by hurricane Melissa.
