Greer Innovation, A Scholarship For Creatives
Hello! My name is Levi Shaeffer and I am from Fond du Lac Wisconsin. I am an entrepreneur who studies Organizational Leadership. My goal is to open a car dealership when Im home for the summer! My dad has taught me since I was young to work on cars and last summer I turned it into a business opportunity! Since I am knowledgeable about used cars I have been able to find great deals on reliable cars for friends, family, and others in need of reliable transportation. Most used car dealerships have a certain bad reputation around them. One of my goals is to build a good reputation in my community and sell to people who really need a good deal. Most of the time I find cars and trucks that need a little work here and there. Normally there are small issues with the cars and because of my experience with mechanics I am able to fix myself which saves costs and keeps profit margins at a maintainable state. I believe that I can continue to make money as well as give people a quality car for a quality price. I was raised on a farm in a Christian family. I have a personal conviction to treat others with respect and honesty. When conducting any business type I think it's important that I keep these morals in place. Instead of selling a car to someone for more than its worth, I can sell it to the buyer for a fair market price even though I may not make a good profit on it. I believe in treating people right because that's how. would like to be treated. I can't thank my dad enough for teaching me how to build relationships and how to respect other people. Most of the time a good relationship and treating a customer with respect will be the best advertisement you can make. Word of mouth has led to many car sales that I would have never made without A firm handshake and a fair and honest transaction. Studying at school has taught me so many lessons about relationships. At the end of the day, the people are the most important part of your business, not the money. I believe that being creative when it comes to businesses is important to set yourself apart. For someone like me who is changing the way a notoriously sleazy business is ran. Creativity and popularity will go a long way. Thank you for your consideration! I hope whoever wins the scholarship will use the money to better impact the world through there education!
