Bio

Hellooo, I'm Levi, but my friends call me Levi, I was born and raised in a small city in Ohio. I enjoy reading classics, practicing meditation and yoga to improve my wellbeing, hanging out with friends, and rock climbing. I took a gap year after high school because I had no clue what I wanted to go to college for. I went to beach cleanups in the summer and then started volunteering at The Holden Arboretum. I helped with removing invasive plants and assisted in research to find ash trees resistant to the Emerald Ash Borer. All of this further confirmed the fact that I enjoyed working in the conservation and environmental field. Something I'm passionate in is global warming, but like passionate in stopping it. I'm not pro global warming I swear. I have been trying to reduce my carbon footprint recently: by using less single use plastic, thrifting used clothes, buying plastic free deodorant bars, and not eating meat. I know that it's mainly the big companies destroying the environment, but I feel like if everyone tried to reduce their carbon footprint, it would still make an impact and raise awareness. My goal is to help change the world for the better. Whether that be by making a HUGE scientific discovery about a bacteria that eats plastics, cures cancer, ends global warming, and causes mosquitoes to become friendly and have a British accent, or by just picking up trash on the beach and making a positive impact in someone's life. I'm not quite sure what I'll end up doing in the environmental field, but I do know that I'll try my best to make the world a better place.

    Environmental Kindness Scholarship
As an environmentalist, I care deeply about nature and the beauty that it holds. However, my passion for protecting our planet isn't just about safeguarding the natural beauty that surrounds us; it's about preserving the home we share with countless other plants and animals. When I think about how all the species of earth coexisted in harmony before the disruption of humans, I can't help but feel a profound responsibility to bring that balance back. It has become increasingly clear that climate change is an increasing threat to our world. The devastation wrought by rising temperatures, extreme weather events, and habitat loss is undeniable. To combat this crisis, I knew I had to take a stand and use the knowledge that I'll gain to make a tangible change. That's why I decided to major in environmental studies – a field that would provide me with the tools and expertise to make a real impact. When I get my degree, I plan to delve into the world of politics and legislation. I firmly believe that enacting comprehensive environmental policies is the best way to fight against climate change. By working alongside lawmakers, I hope to influence the development and implementation of forward-thinking policies that promote renewable energy, protect natural habitats, and reduce greenhouse gas emissions. It's through this marriage of education and political action that I aspire to contribute to the preservation of our precious planet. However, the responsibility to address climate change doesn't rest solely on the shoulders of politicians and experts, we all have a role to play. To my friends and family, this is the advice I would give them to reduce their carbon footprint and make a positive impact: 1. Be an informed voter: Use your voice to support candidates and policies that prioritize environmental conservation and climate action. By voting for those who recognize the urgency of climate change, we can foster the necessary changes at a legislative level. 2. Advocate for better public transportation: Encourage the implementation of affordable and convenient public transportation options in your community. By supporting efforts to expand and improve public transit systems, we can reduce our reliance on personal vehicles, subsequently decreasing carbon emissions and easing traffic congestion. 3. Support sustainable brands: Choose to purchase from companies that prioritize eco-friendly practices and use ethically sourced materials. By voting with your wallet, you can encourage businesses to adopt more sustainable practices. 4. Embrace energy efficiency: Make a conscious effort to conserve energy by switching off lights and electronics when not in use, and consider investing in energy-efficient appliances. These seemingly small changes can lead to significant reductions in energy consumption and carbon emissions. 5. Waste less: Strive to reduce, reuse, and recycle in your daily life. Composting organic waste and minimizing single-use plastics are excellent ways to decrease the amount of waste that ends up in landfills and oceans. In conclusion, my passion for environmental protection is fueled by the intrinsic connection between humans, plants, and animals (which is a renewable energy). By pursuing a degree in environmental studies and using my knowledge to influence policy, I hope to contribute to the global effort to combat climate change. To my friends and family, I offer advice on simple yet meaningful actions they can take to reduce their carbon footprint, emphasizing the power of individual efforts in driving collective change. Together, we can help preserve our shared home and create a sustainable future for generations to come.

Generational wealth, in most people's minds, conjures images of affluent families with luxurious lifestyles. However, for me, it goes beyond just material possessions. It represents long-term financial stability and the transfer of knowledge and opportunities that empower future generations to excel. Here's my strategy for creating and sustaining generational wealth for my family: 1. Financial Planning: I understand the importance of budgeting and saving early in life. By allocating a portion of my income to savings and creating an emergency fund, I plan to invest in various financial instruments like stocks, bonds, and real estate. To minimize risk and maximize growth, I'll diversify my investments. 2. Education: I believe in the power of education to unlock opportunities and foster personal growth. By investing in my education and later, that of my children, I hope to set the stage for informed decision-making and a deep understanding of financial management. As Benjamin Franklin wisely said, "An investment in knowledge pays the best interest." 3. Mentorship: I aspire to mentor my children and share my experiences and lessons learned. Encouraging open conversations about money, investment strategies, and wealth management will instill in them a sense of financial responsibility and acumen from a young age. It's also vital to recognize the role of public policy in the creation of generational wealth. Policies that promote affordable housing, access to quality education, and fair lending practices create equal opportunities for all individuals seeking to build wealth. As a responsible citizen, I plan to participate in local and national elections, voting for candidates and policies that prioritize socioeconomic equality and opportunities. Building generational wealth is a challenging endeavor, but I'm confident that my three-step approach, coupled with civic engagement, will lay a solid foundation for the future. Financial planning will allow me to invest in long-term assets, while education and mentorship will equip my descendants with the knowledge and skills to manage their wealth wisely. In conclusion, to me, generational wealth represents the endowment of financial stability, knowledge, and opportunity that we pass down to future generations. Through a strategy centered on financial planning, education, and mentorship, I aim to create a lasting legacy that enables my family to thrive for generations to come. Inspired by Warren Buffet's words, "Someone is sitting in the shade today because someone planted a tree a long time ago," I'm determined to plant the seeds of generational wealth, nurturing a future of prosperity and financial security for my family.
