When I finally became a mom in 2018, I never thought that I dared to go back to school. I will say, that going to college was my dream, which it was, but having a family of my own was more than anything that I could ever want in my life. As I went through so much in my childhood I didn't want my children to ever feel what I felt in my childhood, which was feeling like you were nothing and felt unloved by parents. So, being a parent did affect my journey to higher education, but in a good way. If it wasn't for my child that I had in 2019, I wouldn't be in college. My journey in college while being a mom has made me think of the fact that my child needs a better life so they can think about going to college once they finish high school. So being a parent, you want to be able to give your children a better life and provided for them without any struggle. I love my children and the way it affects me as a parent that is going to college has been one of the toughest things I could ever do. I will admit that it is hard to be a parent and be a college student, but I can learn how to do both at the same time and I will stop at nothing to get where I need to be and that is finishing college with my degree. In my higher education, I will use this to support my family, by getting a job that represents my degree. I will be able to make my own business or become a manager to a business that makes a lot of money and be able to provide for my family. I want to teach my children that the only way to earn money you have to work for what you earn. So to get where you want to go and provide you have to start from the bottom and work your way up.
