Bio

My life goal is to earn my bachelor's degree at a four-year college. I'm incredibly passionate about becoming a registered nurse and working at either Nicklaus Children's Hospital Main Hospital Campus or the University of Miami UHealth Tower. I want to provide advice and emotional support to patients and their families, helping them through difficult times. I believe I'm a great candidate because I genuinely want to help and encourage others. Guiding and leading individuals toward their interests and desired goals is something I find fulfilling. I'm committed to making a positive difference in people's lives and am dedicated to providing compassionate care as a registered nurse.

My journey began with conflicting feelings about my adoption, despite being proud of it. Growing up in challenging circumstances, I longed for stability and belonging, feeling excluded compared to my peers. However, my adoptive family gradually became my anchor, providing love, support, and a sense of belonging. Through their guidance and their Christian faith, I found solace and strength. Alongside my adoption journey, I faced struggles with ADHD, depression, and anxiety, which taught me resilience and the importance of seeking help. Despite the challenges, I'm determined to pursue my college education and career aspirations with perseverance and determination, embracing the lessons learned from my past experiences.Living with ADHD, depression, and anxiety has deeply influenced my beliefs, relationships, and career aspirations, shaping me into the person I am today. Each of these mental health conditions presents its own unique challenges, but they have also served as catalysts for personal growth and resilience. My experience with ADHD has taught me that my mind works differently, and it's important to find strategies to manage it. While it can be hard to focus at times, I've learned to adapt and find techniques that help me stay on track. This journey has reinforced my belief in the power of perseverance and creative problem-solving. I've come to understand that success is not always linear, and overcoming obstacles often requires patience and resilience. Depression has been a particularly difficult challenge to navigate. There have been days when simply getting out of bed felt like an insurmountable task. However, through therapy, medication, and a commitment to self-care, I've learned to cope with the lows and appreciate the highs. My experience with depression has reinforced my belief in the importance of seeking help and destigmatizing mental illness. I've developed a deep empathy for others facing similar struggles and strive to support them on their own journeys to healing. Anxiety is a constant companion, whispering doubts and insecurities into my mind. It has made me question myself and my abilities, but I refuse to let it define me. Instead, I'm actively working on coping techniques, such as mindfulness and positive affirmations, to calm my anxious thoughts and build self-confidence. My experience with anxiety has taught me the value of self-compassion and the importance of prioritizing mental health in all aspects of life. Despite the challenges posed by my mental health conditions, I refuse to let them dictate my future. I am determined to make the most of my college experience and pursue my career aspirations with passion and determination. I recognize that there will be more obstacles along the way, but I am ready to face them head-on, one step at a time. My journey with mental health has taught me resilience, empathy, and the power of perseverance, qualities that I will carry with me as I continue to grow and pursue my dreams.
