If I had to choose one change to make in the world, it would be to ensure access to quality education for every child, regardless of their background or location. Education is a powerful tool that has the potential to transform lives and empower individuals to create positive change in their communities. Specifically, I would focus on addressing the barriers that prevent children from receiving a quality education. One of the main challenges is the lack of infrastructure and resources in many underserved areas. To tackle this, I would advocate for increased investment in education, particularly in developing countries. This would involve allocating funds to build schools, provide necessary materials and resources, and train qualified teachers. Another aspect to consider is the gender disparity in education. In many parts of the world, girls face significant barriers to accessing education. I would work towards eliminating gender-based discrimination and promoting equal opportunities for girls to receive an education. This could involve implementing policies that ensure girls are not subjected to early marriages, providing safe transportation to school, and creating supportive environments that encourage girls to pursue their education. In addition to infrastructure and gender equality, I would also emphasize the importance of inclusive education. Every child, regardless of their abilities or disabilities, should have the opportunity to learn and thrive in a supportive environment. This would involve promoting inclusive practices in schools, providing necessary accommodations and support for students with disabilities, and fostering a culture of acceptance and understanding among students. Furthermore, I believe that education should go beyond traditional academic subjects. It should also focus on equipping students with essential life skills, such as critical thinking, problem-solving, and empathy. These skills are crucial for navigating the complexities of the modern world and fostering a more inclusive and compassionate society. By ensuring access to quality education for all children, we can break the cycle of poverty, empower individuals to make informed decisions, and foster social and economic development. Education has the power to unlock untapped potential and create a brighter future for individuals and communities around the world. In conclusion, if I had the opportunity to make one change in the world, it would be to ensure access to quality education for every child. This change would require addressing infrastructure and resource gaps, promoting gender equality, fostering inclusive practices, and equipping students with essential life skills. By investing in education, we can create a more equitable and prosperous world for future generations.

Being a student athlete has had a huge impact on my life. I’ve played soccer throughout my high school years. It's taught me valuable skills like time management, discipline, and perseverance. Balancing academics and sports requires careful planning and dedication. I've learned how to prioritize my responsibilities and stay focused on my goals. One of the best things about being a soccer player is the camaraderie and teamwork. I've had the opportunity to work with teammates who share the same passion for the sport. Together, we've celebrated victories, overcome challenges, and formed lifelong friendships. These experiences have shown me the importance of collaboration and the power of working together. When it comes to discipline as a student athlete, it's all about staying focused and committed to both my academics and my sport. It means putting in the extra hours of training, and staying dedicated to my studies even when I'm tired. Discipline also involves making sacrifices, like skipping social events with friends or managing my time effectively to balance my responsibilities. It's not always easy, but the rewards of seeing progress and achieving personal goals make it all worth it. Discipline helps me stay on track and work towards success both on and off the field. In terms of my future career goals, being a student athlete has influenced my aspirations in a significant way. Through my involvement in soccer, I've developed a deep appreciation for the human body and its capabilities. This has sparked my interest in pursuing a career in nursing. I want to help people, provide care, and make a positive impact on their lives. Outside of soccer, one of my biggest passions is dancing. I love expressing myself through movement and music. Whether it's dancing to the latest norteña hits or learning new moves, it brings me so much joy and allows me to let loose and have fun. I mainly dance to mexican music because it’s what I’ve listened to growing up. I've went to multiple dances or “bailes” throughout my high school years and always enjoyed every moment. Dancing is a way for me to unleash my happiness and connect with others who share the same love for movement. When I'm not on the field or dancing, I enjoy spending quality time with my friends and family. Whether it's going on adventures, having meaningful conversations, or simply enjoying each other's company, these connections are incredibly important to me. In conclusion, being a student athlete has shaped my character, taught me important life skills, and influenced my career aspirations in nursing. It has shown me the value of teamwork, discipline, and perseverance.

Hello, my name is Leslie and I’m interested in majoring in nursing this upcoming school year. I'm super excited to share my goals with you! In my future career as a nurse, I aim to make a difference in several ways. First and foremost, I want to provide compassionate and patient-centered care to individuals. By being there for patients during their most vulnerable moments, I can offer support, comfort, and a listening ear. I believe that showing empathy and treating patients with dignity and respect can make a huge difference in their overall well-being. One of my passions is promoting health education and preventive care. I want to empower individuals and communities to take charge of their own health by providing them with the knowledge and tools they need. By educating people about healthy lifestyle choices, disease prevention, and the importance of regular check-ups, I hope to contribute to a healthier society. Another aspect of nursing that I'm passionate about is advocating for health equity. Unfortunately, there are many disparities in healthcare access and outcomes, particularly for marginalized communities. As a nurse, I want to be a voice for those who are unheard and ensure that everyone receives fair and equitable care, regardless of their background or circumstances. By addressing these disparities and working towards health equity, I hope to create a more just and inclusive healthcare system. Additionally, I believe in the power of interdisciplinary collaboration. Nursing is a field that works closely with other healthcare professionals, and I'm excited to be part of a team that collectively provides comprehensive care to patients. By collaborating with doctors, therapists, social workers, and other healthcare providers, we can offer a holistic approach to patient care and improve health outcomes. Lastly, I'm passionate about research and evidence-based practice. Nursing is a constantly evolving field, and I want to contribute to the advancement of knowledge and practice. By staying up to date with the latest research and incorporating evidence-based interventions into my care, I can provide the best possible outcomes for my patients. Overall, my goal with nursing is to positively impact others by providing compassionate care, promoting health education, advocating for health equity, collaborating with interdisciplinary teams, and contributing to research. It’s something I’ve dreamed of doing since I was a child. Helping out those in need has always been a goal for me. I truly believe that through these efforts, I can make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals and communities.

A few years ago, I was going through a tough time dealing with a family illness. It was emotionally draining, and I often found myself feeling overwhelmed and exhausted. One day, as I was sitting in the waiting area of the hospital, a stranger approached me and asked if I was okay. Her name was Julissa, and she worked as a volunteer at the hospital. She had a warm and comforting presence that instantly put me at ease. She sat down next to me, offering a listening ear and a shoulder to lean on. Julissa patiently let me pour out my worries and fears, offering words of encouragement and understanding. What struck me most was her genuine empathy and compassion. She didn't dismiss my feelings or try to offer quick solutions. Instead, she validated my emotions, assuring me that it was okay to feel overwhelmed. She shared her own experiences of going through difficult times, reminding me that I wasn't alone. Julissa's compassion made a profound impact on me. In that moment, I felt seen, heard, and supported. Her kindness gave me the strength to keep going and reminded me of the power of human connection. It made me realize that even in the midst of our own struggles, we can still offer compassion to others and make a difference in their lives. After my encounter with Julissa, I started to notice the small acts of compassion happening all around me. It made me realize that compassion is contagious. When we witness someone showing empathy and understanding, it inspires us to do the same. I started to make a conscious effort to be more compassionate in my own interactions, whether it was offering a smile to a stranger or lending a helping hand to a friend in need. Since that day, I searched online for places to volunteer at a hospital, hoping to provide the same comfort and support that Julissa had given me. It will become a way for me to channel my own experiences into something positive and meaningful. Witnessing and receiving compassion taught me the importance of being present for others, especially during challenging times. It showed me that a simple act of kindness can have a profound impact on someone's well-being. It also reminded me that we all have the power to make a difference in each other's lives, no matter how small or big the gesture may be.

Nursing has always been a calling for me. From a young age, I was inspired by the compassionate care that nurses provide to patients. Seeing the impact they had on people's lives ignited a passion within me to pursue nursing as a career. I am drawn to the opportunity to make a positive difference in the lives of individuals and communities during their most vulnerable moments. Through my nursing career, I hope to achieve several things. Firstly, I want to provide exceptional care to patients, ensuring their physical and emotional well-being. I believe that every person deserves to be treated with dignity, respect, and compassion, regardless of their background or circumstances. By building strong relationships with patients, I aim to create a healing environment where they feel supported and empowered. Secondly, I aspire to be an advocate for health promotion and disease prevention. As a nurse, I understand the importance of educating individuals and communities about healthy lifestyle choices, early detection of diseases, and the benefits of preventive measures such as vaccinations. By empowering people with knowledge and resources, we can work together to reduce the burden of preventable illnesses and improve overall public health. In terms of addressing health issues to prevent future pandemics, I believe in a multifaceted approach. Firstly, it's crucial to strengthen healthcare infrastructure and resources, ensuring that we have adequate facilities, equipment, and skilled healthcare professionals to respond effectively to emerging health threats. This includes investing in research and development to enhance our understanding of diseases and develop innovative solutions. Education and awareness play a vital role in preventing future pandemics. By promoting health literacy, we can empower individuals to make informed decisions about their health and adopt preventive measures. This includes educating the public about proper hygiene practices, the importance of vaccinations, and the early recognition of symptoms. Additionally, promoting global collaboration and information sharing among healthcare professionals and organizations is crucial in detecting and responding to potential outbreaks swiftly. Ultimately, my goal as a nurse is to contribute to a healthier and safer world. By providing compassionate care, promoting health education, and addressing underlying social factors, I believe we can make significant strides in preventing future pandemics and improving the overall well-being of individuals and communities. I want to make a positive impact on people's lives and help create a healthier and safer environment. I hope this gives you some insight into my passion for nursing. Thank you for your time.
