TOMORROW X TOGETHER (TXT) MOA Scholarship
1. I learned about TXT in late 2021, when their song "Anti-Romantic" was trending on social media. Around that time, my friend introduced me to their song, Fairy of Shampoo, which I fell in love with immediately, as I had never heard a song by a boy group that sounded so magical. In May 2022, TXT had their comeback EP, Thursday's Child. The sound was so different from what I knew of them at the time (Fairy of Shampoo, Blue Hour, Ghosting, LO$ER=LOVER), but I enjoyed this side of them, too. Thursday's Child was the first TXT album I ever purchased physically, and I was a MOA from then onward.
2. I think the most important characteristic of a MOA is to be accepting.
3. My bias in TXT is Beomgyu. Even before I started getting into TXT's music, I saw a boy with a dark wolfcut and blonde highlights in a music video and thought, "I don't know him, but he's my favorite." When I actually started watching TXT's content and learned more about the members, I naturally gravitated towards Beomgyu regardless. We share the same hobbies, such as photography, drawing, and playing guitar. We even have the same birthday on March 13! Despite his on-camera persona as the group's positive "mood-maker," I really admire his calmer persona and the raw emotions that he is able to express in his solo songs, "Take My Hand" and "Panic."
4. Beomgyu is my ult bias. I used to stan other groups in middle school, but TXT is the only group that has been consistent enough for me to like them this long.
5. My favorite TXT song is Maze in the Mirror. The song is about feeling lost, losing your true self, but having hope of finding it again. I find the acoustic sound very comforting, I like the meaning, and I like the fact that Beomgyu produced and wrote the song.
6. I have seen TXT twice in concert. The first time I saw them in concert was in 2023 during their ACT: Sweet Mirage tour, and my parents made it into a road trip, since we had to drive 4 hours to another state. The second time was during their ACT: Promise tour in 2024, where I actually took a plane to see them. Minisode 3: TOMORROW is definitely one of my favorite albums by TXT, so seeing them perform it live was amazing.
7. My favorite album concept was the Ethereal concept from Minisode 3: TOMORROW. I really enjoy rock-inspired concepts, so I really liked the styling and photos from that concept. For music videos, my favorite concept was the 0x1= LOVESONG Japanese version music video. The "end of the world" concept was stunning.
8. I am currently in high school, so I am not paying for it. When I go to university in the fall, the college fund that my parents have been saving for me since I was a young child will probably pay for my first few semesters.
9. Only my father works, so getting this scholarship would definitely help me and put less financial burden on my parents.
10. I love TXT because the members are never afraid to truly be themselves. They are also very outspoken about mental health issues. So, ever since I started liking them around middle school, I've become more true to myself, and would never judge others for being their authentic selves.
11. I plan to major in either architecture or urban planning. I want to create landscapes and/or spaces that are built for the people. This means making cities more accessible (for disabled people, children, homeless people, etc.), decreasing hostile architecture, and making cities safer in general.
The image attached is from TXT's concert in LA during the 2023 ACT: Sweet Mirage tour. It's meaningful to me because it was my first time seeing TXT on stage, and it was important to TXT as it was their first stadium concert.
