    Be A Vanessa Scholarship
When I was younger, my mother struggled to show emotional affection, often ignoring or denying my attempts to connect with her. This created a deep craving for attention and validation, over time, this reliance on external approval negatively shaped my growth, turning me into a people pleaser and leaving me questioning of my own identity for years. Seeking recognition, I turned to art and theater, believing that those in the arts were celebrated for their efforts. However, my initial lack of skill brought me not the praise wanted, but malice and ridicule instead. This fueled a spiteful determination to improve—not just for myself, but to prove my mother wrong and escape the weight of her criticism. As I immersed myself in the arts, I discovered a supportive community of like-minded individuals. Unlike me, they sought to provide comfort and compassion through their creative work. Their encouragement shifted my viewpoint from seeking validation out of spite to creating art for my own fulfillment. Through high school, this passion evolved into something far greater. I gained a fascination for reading a variety of subject, from theater productions to educational books that improved my studies and my knowledge of the fine arts. Through theater, I performed in shows that brought attention to Hispanic culture and challenged the toxic ideologies of machismo. In art, I explored themes like the struggles of high school students navigating an often oppressive education system, while also celebrating the positivity of stress-free environments for young people. However it was through my studies and research of the different artist that came before me that inspired me to continue on my with my goals, by they themselves telling heart wrenching stories within their own art. Now when i look to create my own art it is the stories and the people of my generation that inspire me, their struggles and successes is what i aim to capture within my art. Looking ahead, I hope to continue using art to raise awareness of these issues, especially Hispanic culture and the pressures within education. By participating in various competitions and reaching diverse audiences, I aim to inspire meaningful conversations and drive change. By gaining this scholarship fund I will be able to achieve my goal at a quicker pace by having less of a burden to pay for my education. That allowing me to focus on my artistic journey in the future. My passion for art not only reflects my resilience in overcoming past adversities but also defines the path of accomplishments I strive to achieve in the future, my aspirations, and my identity i have built for myself.
