I am a proud mother of two delightful girls, aged 13 and 7, and our beloved furry giant, a 7-year-old Bullmastiff. By profession, I dedicate myself as a full-time Emergency Department and Cardiac nurse at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center. Beyond my work, my heart finds joy in cherishing moments with my family and close friends.
During the summer months, you'll often find us enjoying the outdoors, biking, swimming, and kayaking together by the lake. As a personal passion, I also engage in running, having participated in numerous 5K races. I especially enjoy running. Especially if it is for a cause and for those who can not. In January 2025 I ran a 10K at Disney World supporting Autism Speaks a organization near to my heart.
In quieter moments, I indulge in the pleasure of reading, a passion I happily share with my daughters, nurturing their love for literature and imagination.
I am currently enrolled in Illinois State University Family Nurse Practitioner Program. Assistance obtained from scholarships would be a huge help to me and my family. Scholarships will help me to focus on academics and my young children and less on the financial burden of attending college.

Growing up, I was always aware that mental health was something many people avoided talking about. It was considered taboo, something to be whispered about rather than addressed openly. However, my childhood was different in a very important way, my mother and grandmother were never afraid to speak about mental health. From a young age, they taught me the importance of recognizing our emotions, expressing them in healthy ways, and learning how to cope with life’s challenges.
Their openness was rooted in personal loss. Long before I was born, my family experienced a devastating tragedy that forever changed their lives. My grandmother lost her father, my great-grandfather, to suicide when my mother was just a child. This loss deeply affected both of them. My grandmother struggled with anxiety after his death, but rather than suppress her emotions, she chose to talk about them. She frequently recalled how, even in her own childhood, people dismissed her father’s suicidal remarks as “just talk.” But one day, when she was in her thirties, he took his life in the garage with a gun. He had been silently suffering for years unseen, unheard, and unsupported.
Hearing these stories shaped the way I view mental health. It gave me an understanding that pain doesn’t always show on the surface and that being open about our struggles can be lifesaving. Additionally, listening to others and what they are truly saying could help save a life. I myself have battled anxiety and depression on and off throughout my life. It hasn’t been easy, but I’ve learned to cope through a combination of therapy, medication, self-regulation, and healthy routines. Most importantly, I’ve passed those values on to my own children. I talk to them about their emotions, encourage them to speak openly, and remind them constantly that it’s okay to ask for help. I also stress how important it is to speak up if a friend or loved one seems to be struggling.
As an emergency nurse, I see the mental health crisis unfold daily. I care for patients in the depths of depression, anxiety, lost to substance abuse, and those who feel they have no one left to turn to. It’s heartbreaking to witness how mental illness continues to go untreated or ignored due to lack of resources, stigma, or fear. Mental illness is its own kind of pandemic widespread, silent, and still without the adequate support it deserves.
This all has left a lasting impact on me, and it’s one of the reasons I’ve committed myself to doing more. After I complete my degree as a Family Nurse Practitioner, I plan to return to school to earn a post-graduate certificate in mental health. I want to be part of the solution, to give people the help they so often struggle to find. My dream is to serve both primary care and mental health needs in my community, especially for those who may not otherwise have access to care.
Mental health has touched every part of my life: my family, my own journey, and my professional path. I’m proud to be someone who speaks up, breaks the silence, and works to create a world where no one needs to suffer in silence again.
Online ADHD Diagnosis Mental Health Scholarship for Women
Mental health has played a significant role in both my academic performance and personal life. I was diagnosed with generalized anxiety disorder while I was attending high school, and since then, I have faced ongoing struggles with self doubt, fear of failure, and overwhelming worry. Anxiety has made me question my ability to succeed. Additionally, it has often made me feel that I’m not smart enough, not capable enough, or not good enough.
In school, anxiety held me back in many ways. I was too embarrassed or nervous to participate in class, join clubs, or attend school functions. I often avoided socializing with classmates because I was constantly worried about what others thought of me. Even when I worked hard on assignments, I would question whether the work was good enough or if I was falling behind. On top of that, the pressure of balancing academics with family and work responsibilities added another layer of stress. I often found myself overthinking everything, how I would manage my time, whether I would pass my classes, and how I could keep up with everything expected of me.
Recently, I was diagnosed with ADHD, and this has brought a new perspective to many of the challenges I’ve faced. I chose to proceed with pharmacological treatment, I’ve seen a noticeable improvement in my focus and productivity. This has allowed me to reduce my anxiety medication and manage my mental health more effectively. For the first time in a very long time, I feel like I have tools that help me stay on track without being consumed by worry and thoughts of inadequacy.
In addition to medical treatment, I’ve learned to prioritize my mental health through consistent self care. One of the most important tools in my tool box is running. Running is not just about physical fitness for me it’s 100% for my mental health. It gives me a quiet, peaceful space to clear my head and regain a sense of control. I intentionally carve out time each week to run, knowing it helps me feel more balanced and less anxious.
I also turn to reading as a way to relax and reset. I make an effort to read several books a month, which helps shift my focus away from stress and lets me engage with new ideas or simply escape into a story. In my personal life, spending time with my family and friends is something I deeply value. They provide emotional support, encouragement, and a reminder of what really matters. At the same time, I recognize how important alone time is for me to recharge my battery, so I make space for solitude as part of my weekly routine as well.
Managing my mental health is an ongoing journey, but it’s one I take seriously. I’ve come a long way from the girl who was too afraid to speak up or show up. Through support from my friends, family, medication, and intentional self-care, I’ve found ways to succeed academically and stay connected to the things I care about.
Prioritizing my mental health has not only improved my academic performance, it’s helped me grow into a more confident, capable version of myself. And while I still face challenges, I now face them with tools, resilience, and hope.
OMC Graduate Scholarships
As a full-time nurse and mother of two young daughters, pursuing my Master of Science in Nursing is both a deeply personal and professional commitment. Receiving this scholarship would play a vital role in helping me achieve my educational and career goals by relieving financial stress, allowing me to fully invest in my studies and family without compromising either.
Balancing a demanding schedule at work, academic responsibilities, clincal commitments, and being a present, supportive parent is no small feat. Every hour I spend outside of work is divided between school work and quality time with my children. Earning this scholarship would alleviate some of the financial pressures that come with tuition, textbooks, and other academic expenses allowing me to dedicate quality time and energy toward my classes and the needs of my girls, rather than worrying about how to cover the next semester's costs.
Education has always been an important part of my personal and professional growth. Advancing my nursing career by obtaining my masters in nursing is not just about earning a degree, but more importantly it’s about expanding my ability to provide excellent, holistic patient centered, evidence-based care, and becoming a strong leader. This scholarship would support me in staying on track toward that goal, empowering me to take full advantage of my educational opportunities and become a more effective and compassionate healthcare provider.
There are many expenses outside of tuition and books. Outside of books and tuition there are several required and option applications for devices that assist with diagnosing, medication information, and evidence based practice resources. Financial assistance would also help ensure I can access these tools and resources I need to succeed in my program. From purchasing required textbooks, clincal materials, apps, travel expenses related to clinical, and any other required materials, every bit of support brings me closer to completing my degree without undue financial strain. This also helps me in setting an example for my daughters showing them the value of hard work, perseverance, and education.
In short, this scholarship would be more than financial assistance it would be a bridge allowing me to focus more deeply on my studies and my children, reduce stress, and continue building a future where I can serve both my family and my community through advanced nursing practice. I am committed to making the most of this opportunity and using my education to make a meaningful difference in the lives of others.
Eric Maurice Brandon Memorial Scholarship
This is a great question, one that makes me pause and reflect on my 41 years of life and my 20 year journey as a nurse. Like many children, I once dreamed of becoming a superhero, singer, actor, or even a princess. But my perspective shifted when my younger brother was diagnosed with a bleeding disorder when I was 12 years old. Watching him endure countless hospital admissions and doctor visits, I was deeply moved by the care he received from compassionate, skilled nurses.
One moment stands out in my memory. During one of his hospital stays, a nurse made me feel seen and valued in a time of fear and chaos. That experience stuck with me. It was the first time I truly understood the impact of nursing and I knew then that I wanted to be part of that world.
By my senior year of high school, I was fully committed to becoming a nurse. I earned my CNA certification while still in high school. After graduation I went on to complete an associate degree in nursing. Driven to expand my knowledge and grow professionally, I pursued and obtained my bachelor’s degree in nursing. Now, with two decades of experience behind me, I am advancing my education once again, working toward my master’s degree to become a Family Nurse Practitioner.
Why, after all these years, do I still choose healthcare? Because it’s one of the hardest but also the most rewarding professions in the world.
Nursing is physically and emotionally demanding. We lift patients, move equipment, push beds, and walk miles during a single shift. But beyond the physical toll is the emotional weight we carry. We are present for life’s most difficult moments when families lose a loved one, when patients receive devastating diagnoses, and during traumatic medical emergencies. We are also there for the victories: the newborn cries, the successful surgeries, and the recoveries that give families hope. Every single day I see miracles happen!
As nurses, we serve as caregivers, listeners, educators, advocates, and sometimes even stand-ins for family. We laugh with our patients, cry with them, pray with them, and walk alongside them during their most vulnerable times. Most of them won’t remember our names, but we return each day with the same dedication because this work matters. These experiences have shaped not only who I am as a nurse but who I am as a mother, daughter, and friend. Nursing isn’t just what I do; it’s who I am.
As a future Family Nurse Practitioner, I hope to help close the growing gap in primary care providers. I want to bring my 20 years of bedside experience into the advanced practice setting, offering compassionate, holistic care to patients of all ages. I also plan to pursue a post-master’s certification in psychiatric mental health and eventually teach at the undergraduate level sharing my knowledge and passion with the next generation of nurses.
So, why do I continue to choose healthcare? Because I can’t imagine doing anything else. My career has given me purpose, meaning, and the chance to make a real difference and I’m just getting started.
TRAM Panacea Scholarship
Mental health is a global issue that impacts every community, regardless of age, background, or culture. It’s not just those who suffer from mental illness who are affected, friends, family members, coworkers, and even healthcare providers feel its effects. As someone who has been effected by mental health issues I am deeply passionate about this issue, I believe mental health is one of the most pressing public health crises of our time.
Although progress has been made in recognizing and addressing mental health challenges, we are still a long way away from a sustainable solution. Stigma, misinformation, and lack of access to care continue to prevent people from seeking the help they need. Mental health affects every aspect of our lives: how we work, how we learn, how we build relationships, and even our physical health. Depression, anxiety, trauma, and stress-related disorders are often invisible but incredibly debilitating and yet they frequently go untreated or misdiagnosed for a multitude of reasons.
One of the greatest challenges we face is education. Many healthcare professionals still lack adequate training to recognize and treat mental health issues, especially when patients present with physical symptoms that mask underlying psychological conditions. In primary care settings, these symptoms often go unnoticed, delaying treatment and compounding suffering. Additionally many primary care providers do not have the knowledge or training for the proper prescribing of medications for these conditions. I believe this gap in education must be addressed urgently, beginning with early mental health education in schools and continuing through professional training programs in healthcare.
Access to care is another major hurdle. There are too few mental health facilities and professionals, particularly in rural and underserved communities. Insurance coverage is often inadequate, and long wait times make timely care difficult to obtain. These barriers leave patients without options, forcing them to struggle in silence or head to the Emergency Room. The Emergency Rooms are already over burdened and unequipped to manage mental health issues. These patient often remain in the Emergency Room for days waiting for placement at a mental health facility.
As a nurse practitioner, I am committed to helping close this gap. My goal is to be not only a provider but also an advocate for better mental health care. After completing my Family Nurse Practitioner degree, I plan to pursue a post-master’s certification in psychiatric mental health. With this training, I will be better equipped to treat patients holistically, recognizing and addressing mental health needs alongside physical health.
Mental health must become a public health priority. It’s time to break the silence, remove the stigma, and ensure that everyone has access to the care they deserve.
Sloane Stephens Doc & Glo Scholarship
My journey to where I am today has been shaped profoundly by early challenges and the resilience I developed in overcoming them. As a child, I faced significant academic struggles during grade school and junior high. My grades were consistently poor, and despite my parents' tireless efforts to support me, the traditional educational methods simply didn’t work for me. This persistent struggle led my parents to seek additional help, including multiple meetings with teachers and school staff, in hopes of finding a solution.
After extensive discussions and evaluations, it was determined that I did not have a learning disability but rather experienced anxiety and had a unique learning style. This revelation was a turning point for me and my family. Understanding that my struggles stemmed from anxiety and not a learning disability was both a relief and a challenge. My parents worked closely with the school to implement changes in the teaching methods to better accommodate my needs. Simultaneously, I began counseling, where I was introduced to strategies for managing my anxiety and learning in ways that suited my individual needs.
The support I received was transformative. The modifications in teaching methods and the tools I gained from counseling enabled me to overcome my anxiety and thrive academically. The shift in approach allowed me to connect with the material in a way that resonated with me. As a result, my performance improved significantly, and I went from struggling to consistently making the honor roll throughout high school. This experience was not just about improving grades but about learning how to manage personal challenges and leverage support systems effectively.
My journey did not end with high school success. With a newfound confidence and resilience, I pursued my undergraduate studies in nursing. Graduating summa cum laude was a testament to my dedication and the skills I had developed in overcoming early academic difficulties. The experience of transforming my academic life fueled my passion for helping others and reinforced my belief in the power of perseverance and adaptability.
Currently, I am working towards my graduate degree as a Family Nurse Practitioner, maintaining a 4.0 GPA while balancing the demands of full-time work, parenting two children, and managing my studies. This pursuit is driven by a deep-seated commitment to making a difference in the field of medicine. My academic and personal achievements have instilled in me a profound understanding of the importance of resilience, empathy, and tailored support.
The challenges I faced and the determination required to overcome them have profoundly shaped my character and influenced my career aspirations. They have taught me that overcoming obstacles is not just about personal achievement but about understanding and supporting others through their struggles. In medicine, I see an opportunity to apply these lessons by providing compassionate care and advocating for patient-centered approaches. My experiences have instilled in me a commitment to addressing the needs of individuals in a holistic manner, recognizing that each person’s journey is unique and requires tailored support.
My early academic struggles and subsequent triumphs have been instrumental in shaping who I am today. They have equipped me with resilience, empathy, and a deep understanding of the importance of individualized care. As I continue my journey towards becoming a Family Nurse Practitioner, these experiences will guide my approach to patient care, ensuring that I offer support that is both compassionate and effective. The challenges I have overcome have not only defined my path but have also fueled my dedication to making a meaningful impact in the field of medicine.
Mental Health Importance Scholarship
Mental health is a cornerstone of overall well-being, just as crucial as physical health. It encompasses our emotional, psychological, and social state, influencing how we think, feel, and act. In a world that often prioritizes physical health and tangible achievements, it is essential to recognize that mental wellness is equally vital for leading a fulfilling and balanced life.
My belief in the importance of mental health stems from personal experience and understanding its role in my overall well-being. Maintaining mental wellness is not just about managing stress or handling life's challenges; it is about nurturing a positive and resilient mindset that supports a harmonious life. Through various strategies, I have learned to prioritize my mental health, and these practices have become integral to my daily routine.
One of the most effective ways I maintain my mental wellness is through physical exercise. Engaging in activities like running, biking, and attending fitness classes at my local gym serves as a significant outlet for stress relief and emotional balance. Exercise is not just a physical activity for me; it is a powerful tool for mental rejuvenation. The endorphins released during exercise contribute to improved mood and reduced anxiety, making physical fitness an essential component of my mental health regimen.
Reading is another cherished practice that helps me clear my mind and relax. Immersing myself in a good book offers an escape from daily stresses and allows me to explore different perspectives and worlds. This intellectual engagement provides a mental break and fosters creativity and relaxation. Whether it is fiction or non-fiction, reading serves as a valuable form of self-care and mental enrichment.
In addition to exercise and reading, I find that taking time for silence and meditation is crucial for maintaining mental wellness. Incorporating moments of quiet reflection into my daily routine allows me to center myself and manage the demands of life more effectively. Meditation helps me cultivate mindfulness and develop a deeper connection with my inner self. It is during these quiet moments that I can process my thoughts, reduce stress, and gain clarity on various aspects of my life.
Self-care activities also play a significant role in my mental health maintenance. Engaging in activities such as getting massages, having my nails done, or enjoying a shopping trip with a friend provides not only physical relaxation but also emotional upliftment. These activities are not indulgences but rather essential practices for replenishing my mental energy and nurturing my well-being. They offer a break from routine and remind me of the importance of treating myself with kindness and care.
Overall, my approach to maintaining mental wellness is rooted in a holistic understanding of health. By integrating exercise, reading, meditation, and self-care into my life, I am able to manage stress, foster emotional resilience, and promote a positive mindset. These practices are not mere habits but essential components of a balanced and fulfilling life.
Natalie Joy Poremski Scholarship
I am a Catholic as well as a nurse by profession, I feel a profound calling to obtain my Nurse Practitioner license and degree. As a Catholic I cherish the gift of life. Living out faith as a Catholic, particularly as it pertains to the pro-life stance, involves daily prayer and educating my children. The Catholic faith teaches the inherent dignity of every human being from conception to natural death. I pray for unborn children and their mothers. In addition, I am dedicated to teaching my children about the value of every human life from a young age, instilling pro-life values through example and discussion.
I was called early in my nursing career to serve as a mission partner at a Catholic healthcare system. I believe this was due to my ingrained pro-life beliefs as a Catholic. I felt strongly about working at a healthcare facility that cherishes life and who's mission and values align with my own. As a nurse I adhere to pro-life principles in medical practice by providing care that respects the dignity of every human life.
The pro-life stance and the nursing profession both emphasize a profound respect for human life, albeit they do so through different approaches. Nursing, at its core, is dedicated to the preservation, protection, and enhancement of life, which aligns with many of the values upheld by the pro-life perspective. Nurses are fundamentally committed to the care and preservation of human life. This commitment parallels the pro-life stance, which emphasizes the sanctity of life from conception to natural death. Nurses are trained to provide compassionate care to all individuals, regardless of their circumstances, underscoring a universal respect for life.
Additionally, nursing is deeply rooted in ethical practice, guided by principles such as beneficence, nonmaleficence, and respect for autonomy. These principles align with pro-life ethics, which prioritize the protection of life and the ethical treatment of all patients, including the unborn.
Nurses have been trained to provide holistic care that considers the physical, emotional, social, and spiritual needs of patients. This holistic approach resonates with pro-life values that advocate for the well-being of both mother and child. As a nurse I advocate for patient rights and well-being. Nurses often find themselves advocating for vulnerable populations, including unborn children, pregnant women, and those facing challenging medical or social situations.
As a nurse and when I become a Nurse Practitioner, I play a crucial role in patient education and counseling. I can help individuals make informed decisions about their health and well-being. This includes providing information about pregnancy, childbirth, and alternatives to abortion, aligning with the pro-life emphasis on informed choices and support for life-affirming options.
The pro-life stance is not limited to the beginning of life but also includes a respect for life at all stages, including end-of-life care. The nursing profession is integral in providing palliative care, which focuses on the quality of life for patients with serious illnesses. This compassionate care supports the pro-life perspective of respecting and preserving life until natural death.

Like most children, I harbored dreams of becoming a superhero, singer, actor, and even a princess. However, my perspective on life and career aspirations shifted significantly when my brother was diagnosed with a bleeding disorder, a condition he has faced throughout his life. Witnessing his numerous hospital admissions and doctor visits, I was profoundly impacted by the compassionate care provided by nurses. Around the age of 12, during one of my brother's hospitalizations, I vividly recall a nurse who made me feel incredibly special amidst the chaos. As I observed the dedication and expertise displayed by these healthcare professionals in caring for my brother, I was awe-inspired. It was this experience that solidified my decision to pursue nursing as my career path.
I began my higher education journey by earning an associate degree in nursing. Eager to enhance both my knowledge and professional standing, I subsequently pursued and obtained my bachelor's degree. Now, I am actively pursuing a master's degree in nursing, with a specialization as a Family Nurse Practitioner, as the next step in my career advancement. Since 2005, I've been dedicated to the nursing profession. I've been fortunate enough to immerse myself in a diverse array of valuable experiences. I've had the privilege of interacting with a multitude of healthcare professionals, each encounter contributing to my wealth of knowledge. Proactively seizing learning opportunities, I've acquired numerous certifications and additional licenses to further enhance my expertise. I've had the privilege of working in diverse healthcare settings, including a small rural hospital and a large medical center, offering me a unique advantage in understanding healthcare in two distinct environments.
Moreover, my experience spans various areas within the healthcare system, providing an additional layer of expertise. I've served in pre-hospital care as an EMT and PHRN for the Mendota Fire Department, gaining valuable insights on the ambulance. Within the hospital, my roles in the ER, Post Anesthesia Care Unit, and Non-Invasive Cardiology Services have broadened my perspective. Working with a diverse range of patients, from birth to end of life, has further enriched my understanding of healthcare dynamics and patient needs. My dedication to the nursing profession is evident through my active involvement in various councils at both unit and hospital levels, along with my contribution to impactful process improvement projects. Notably, I played a pivotal role in developing a widely utilized Micro Debriefing initiative across all OSF facilities. Engaging in unit committees focused on education and scheduling, as well as participating in the mentor program for new hires, underscores my commitment to fostering a supportive environment. In the capacity of a primary preceptor for onboarding nurses and a mentor for nursing and EMT students, I have actively shaped the development of future healthcare professionals.
These diverse experiences have significantly contributed to shaping the nurse I am today. By embracing change and innovation, I have proven my commitment to advancing the field and empowering the next generation of nurses. In my current role, I consistently seek opportunities to progress and take on increased responsibilities. My educational goals now revolve around achieving my FNP. I am committed to extracting every ounce of knowledge available, aiming to absorb a comprehensive education.
Throughout my nursing career, I've observed numerous gaps in healthcare provision for patients. This realization has been a driving force behind my decision to pursue my FNP. The shortage of primary medicine providers is striking, and I believe that Nurse Practitioners can play a critical role in bridging this gap for patients. I am driven to address the critical gap in primary care and mental health services that many patients currently face.

My decision to embark on the path of higher education as a non-traditional student stemmed from a deep-seated desire for personal and professional advancement. Through my academic pursuits, I hope to inspire my children to pursue their own dreams relentlessly, regardless of the obstacles they may encounter along the way.
Moreover, my experience as a non-traditional college student has fundamentally reshaped my future goals. Unlike my undergraduate years, where the endgame was often clouded by uncertainty, I now possess a clear vision of the path ahead. As I navigate the complexities of graduate school, I am driven by a desire to expand my knowledge, refine my clinical skills, and ultimately, emerge as a competent and compassionate Family Nurse Practitioner.
Through the intricacies of balancing work, family, and academia, I have emerged not only as a scholar but as a beacon of inspiration for aspiring individuals facing similar challenges. The choice to embark on the journey of returning to school at the age of 40 presented its own set of challenges. How would I manage my existing responsibilities alongside family commitments? Was the endeavor truly worth the effort? Could I rise to the occasion?
Despite these uncertainties, I made a conscious decision to cast aside apprehension and embrace the opportunity. A cherished piece of wisdom from my grandmother echoed in my mind: "Education is an irreplaceable asset." With a family heritage deeply rooted in the value of learning, I found unwavering support from my loved ones.
As the first in my family to attain a college degree, the prospect of pursuing further education felt like charting uncharted territory. However, when I shared my aspirations of pursuing a master's degree, their response was nothing short of resounding encouragement. Their unwavering faith in my abilities provided the momentum I needed to embark on this journey.
Balancing the demands of work, caregiving, and personal well-being amidst a bustling household with two children aged 12 and 6 presents a multitude of challenges. My aspiration to positively impact the world finds its expression in healthcare, where the influence of healthcare workers touches hundreds of thousands every day. Acknowledging healthcare providers as among the most influential individuals globally, I recognize that everyone, at some point, has encountered these professionals throughout life's various stages. Nurses often lead people in to life witnessing infants first breaths to holding the hands of the elderly as they take their last breath. Nursing is a difficult and noble profession not meant for everyone.
My early inspiration to become a nurse stems from witnessing the compassionate care my brother received during childhood hospitalizations. This led me to embark on the path of nursing. While attending nursing school I completed the EMT program offered at a local community college. I then began working on the ambulance in my rural community while continuing to attend nursing school. My journey includes obtaining both an associate degree followed by bachelor's degree in nursing. I then started my career as an ER nurse in a small rural hospital. I touched many lives in my work as an ER nurse. Excelling in this role, I took advantage of educational opportunities made available to me. I obtained several certifications, including a Trauma Nurse Specialist license, and took on leadership roles as a charge nurse and preceptor, showcasing my dedication to shaping the future of healthcare.
I then aspired to know other aspects of healthcare and nursing moving to the Post Anesthesia Care Unit. I spent several years in this position where I again excelled I took on the role of charge nurse, preceptor, scheduling committee, and was involved in the shared governance as president of unit counsel. While serving on the unit counsel I played an intricate role in developing a micro debriefing program for post code/critical situation debriefing. This program was then implemented through out the entire health system.
My experiences as a nurse and EMT unveiled critical healthcare shortcomings, notably the Emergency Room often serving as primary care due to prolonged wait times for provider establishment. This primary care provider shortage is a significant obstacle for many patients. Recognizing this gap, I envision Nurse Practitioners playing a pivotal role in addressing this challenge.
Additionally, my commitment extends to addressing healthcare disparities in rural areas, where a scarcity of providers puts residents at a disadvantage. Armed with a Masters Degree and a Family Nurse Practitioner license, my mission is to bridge this gap, ensuring the delivery of high-quality healthcare to those in need in these underserved regions.
